The ones I’m looking for is Specialized who ‘normally’ ‘change’ models every three years. I’m suspecting a full carbon evo for 2013. Who knows who else. It’s very early for some as I’ve normally seen prototypes around april or may.

Defeet woolie boolie socks, both lo and high ones.

Never had luck with sealskins though.
Have DHB Roubaix tights as well as a impulse buy.

The best (man made) bits of brechfa are closed. Might as well wait for it to open whenever that is. The red route from Abergorlech is open.

Wet weather shed is OK. If you park near Bank farm there’s a few quick loops from there.

Hey Taff another 12 weeks of closures for most of Brechfa, the red is open. the natural tracks I use are passable but its becoming too risky with machines and the odd Forestry Commission guys catching me. Stick to the New Inn pencader entrance.

My history of bikes, include the 575 heckler gemini (loved that bike) and s-work Enduro 04. 06 and 3x Enduro SL’s, last year had a 2011 S-works SJ until the brain rotated on its mount on two frames so swapped that for the 2011 SJ evo.

I went from a 06 Enduro to a 575 and just couldnt get on with it after having an FSR bike before hand really noticed that fsr was great on rooty off camber stuff which showed the failings of the 575. The heckler I bough was great but the reliability of that bearing and the bolts snapping and the bearing seized in the housing. for my height I was exactly in-between sizes and I noticed the wheel base to short and great at long rides but not ‘quite’ right on the downs. The 3 enduro SL’s were superb even the fork which I was able to strip down and rebuild every 3 months to give a plush ride, nice long wheelbase with the perfect headangle. The SJ s-works was my return to a brain bike and though excellent for 95% of my riding the time I wanted it to be better it could be caught out on my circuits of brechfa. So on to the evo, one very solid confident bike, quickly changed the fork to a Revelation WC and it as fast as the 06 enduro DH and with a tweak on the stem and bar suited to my area of Brechfa. I have ridden my mates Zesty and Specialized have done their homework and I find the SJ more sure footed and better when pointed down. The other guy on his Zesty 514 has fitted a coil shock and a 36 fork.
My mistake over the years has not been to test ride bikes. I have been lucky with the Evo though.
If canondale still made the Prophet I would love to compare that to the heckler. The orange 5 has so many good reviews but I’ve never ridden one.
Bikes that would be on my list. (not that I need to try bikes)

    Trance x
    Trek Fuel
    Transition (can’t remember which one)
    Cove hustler
    Banshee spitfire
I’m always between Santa Cruz sizes.
Have a On-one 456 in size 14″ with a kashima Talas 140RLC for my night rides.
Longest post I have ever done.

Just cant ever seeing me liking a mojo as the shape turns me off.

Unless that evo had a 10m carbon complete frame, (it doesnt) including the chainstay and seat stays then save your money and just get a Aluminium frame. I had a 11 S-works carbon frame and went to a 11 SJ evo and save your money.

Trout you have Otitis externa, caused by the water in Egypt, also known as ‘swimmers ear’. I’m an ENT nurse and even had my ears syringed for wax. Therapeutic for me as improved my hearing.
Big no-no is using cotton buds too. That wick they’ve put in your ear is called a ‘Pope’ wick. Probably the drops they’ve used is a Hydro cortisone and antibiotic drops, gentisone HC or sofradex. Best way to avoid this is by keeping your ears as much as posssible.
    It can be very painfull.
I have seen insects in the ear canal, requiring theatre. Haven’t seen earwigs yet…
Regular Ibuprofen and paracetamol if you can take those.

Same situation here, bought a? circa 1920’s house. Ordering a survey this afternoon, but it needs a CH system. Going for 270mm in the roof no problem, has Double glazing. If it does have a cavity I’m still out on that decision. Will ask a few trusted friends.

    Found this (though scotland)

Same here, ordered a 2011 WC Dual position. Read the reviews on the mtbr website and very nearly cancelled. Have a 2011 140 Talas RLC with Kashima and they are great, but went for a Revelation due to better stiffness for my SJ evo at 150mm. I am using them for the first time this week as I’m on the hardtail tomorrow. My final reasoning is that only the early ones had initial problems, and still under warranty.

Gone from a enduro SL to a SJ evo. Superb bike couldnt be happier, Brother in Law has a Giant trance nice bike too but the SJ wins on everything, down up and across. The Evo is very similar in travel to the SL so the regular SJ isnt too far off that too. Depending on budget the trance has less travel but heavier.

There is a 2012 S-Works SJ Evo coming out. I’ve had 3 enduro SL’s 2 ali and 1 CF and the SJ evo is a better bike. But there are so many good bikes out there.

Yes bought at the height of that market, but also sold a house at the same time to fund for it. The price they wanted in 06 was 240. Lesson learnt and didn’t get my fingers burned too much. Now to stop the wife selling in the future…

Feel quite ‘lucky’ exchanged contracts yesterday. Bought a Persimmon home back in Oct 06 for 230k sold it for 220k. Had a few buyers but 2 out of three of them just couldn’t get a mortgage. I will NEVER again buy a new build. I used to be a carpenter and the quality of new builds are atrocious. awaiting on a survey on a 3 bed cottage with 3/4 acres for 174k, all in all with less council tax and mortgage will have £375 more every month. If the latest buyers had pulled out would have dropped the price by another 10k.
Had a mouthful from an estate agent in Narberth when made an offer on a bungalow less 10%, what I thought it was worth. Down in Carmarthenshire esp. Carmarthen, prices are relatively static with the houses near good schools (ours was) selling.
