Is the road free hub for 11 speed not something like 2 or 1.8mm wider? Of course if you aren’t using 11 speed road cassettes it’s not an issue.

If you are planning on using 11 speed road cassettes those hubs won’t be suitable- you can get a 11 speed free hub for the DT swiss hub, but it would require a re-dish of the wheel

I don’t think the thru-axles are interchangeable between mfrs- so you are stuck with RS axles, or KCNC or TUNE replacements (which are designed for weight weenies & are pricey)

    Escapism I assume?

Any Grapil owners managed to find a supplier of derailleur hangers, please? I’m struggling to find them…. seems quite a complex shape.

Your LBS (with a madison account) can get them for you, I never found another source for them. The Hanger is part of the dropout for the thru-axle, so they aren’t the cheapest.

They have a 1.5 steerer, which I don’t imagine too many angle sets deal with..

I have a trigger carbon with the supermax lefty fork, its great, stiff, plush & gives you attention whore points! But mine did have problems after about 4 rides, internal problems meant it had to go back to TF tunned to have air seal & air piston replaced. This was on top of the frame failing when the seat stays sheared at the flex point.. But all was handled under warranty. Not sure I would get another, but as long as the current one remains reliable, I think I’ll be keeping it.

I would go for f11 as lenses can loose sharpness when fully stopped down..

Stop the lens down to f11, leave shutter on bulb mode ( basically keeps the shutter open for as long as you press the button) and take 1-2 minute exposures. This requires a tripod, or beanbag & a remote release is handy..

I had one, 140mm forks worked well on it

A lot of the old stuff is almost forgotten too, on a survey for an offshore wind farm we found old unmapped cables that were probably old wartime telecoms cables to Europe

Reminds me of the time a boss of mine offshore was telling me about the time him & his mates were laying a fibre optic cable inshore to Iceland, they dragged a grapel across a supposedly clear bit of seabed (according to the charts anyway) and came up with a hydrophone.. Not long after a US navy chopper was buzzing them & calling over the vhf telling them not to say anything..

11 speed road freehub is longer than 10 speed road freehub- so you can’t spacer things about.. (10 speed road freehub is the same as mtb)

Anyone else have a problem with their lefty sticking down? I know the new supermax lefties has self resetting bearinings, but it still mentions needing to do a manual reset every 50 hours. As these are solo air forks could the transfer port be getting block ala rockshox solo air systems?

    catfishsalesco

Nope. The SMC reset does a reset of the power management firmware, it doesn’t do much to the OS itself

I would try a SMC reset, can’t remember the keystroke combo do it, Google for Mac SMC reset for the details..

How many times do I need to say Lefty specific crash before you’ll realise?

At least one more time jimjam!

I’m sure the crash was my fault, although I’m still not too sure how it happened, bit of tyre slip on a quick corner with flat rocks, but was surprised at how easily the wheel went out of shape.

I was having great fun riding mine (Carbon trigger2) this evening till I ended up in a ditch with a snapped off night & very funny shaped front wheel! Thought I had snapped a spoke, but it was intact, just had popped out of the socket on the front hub. Hopefully the LBS will be able to tease it back into shape.. In the mean time the painkillers will keep the shoulder from complaining!

1×11 from me other bike, XTR trail brakes, 30T narrow wide, KS southpaw lever (waste of money, next time I’m gutting an old shifter) and some meatier rubber (tubeless).

On the Carbon 2 you will need a GXP direct mount chain ring. A BB30 one would fit, but the chainline would be slightly out. It is a BB30 crankset with a long spindle. Absolute Black have a nice illustration on their website : http://www.absoluteblack.cc/mtb-chainrings/ (2nd box down on the right)

To agree with above the cranks took alot of force to remove. I thought something was going to break before the bolt finally moved!

Demm. But on the bright side I suppose I can get one of those super cheap steel X-Sync rings that sram did.. Anyone need a short spindle direct mount oval ring?

Got a 1/2 drive budge bar & 8mm hex socket that will hopefully shift it!

I have the carbon trigger 2 and fancy replacing the double chainrings with a single chainring, putting 11 speed off another bike on at the same time. Are the cranks GXP or PF30 (0mm or 6mm offset?) for a direct mount chainring.
I know they have a PF30 BB, but it seems you can get a PF 30 chainset that is also GXP somehow? This is all new to me, only used Shimano HTII & raceface cranksets in the past..

I’m usually a medium on everything, got a medium trigger 2, reach is lovely, lots of room, but I can’t get the searpost up enough for what I’m used too, at the min insertion and feel like I could accommodate another inch (oh er) there.. Odd! I’m about 5’8 I think..

My trigger 2 has arrived, now waiting for my usual bike mechanic bloke to come back from holiday to transplant gears, brakes, etc from old bike onto new bike..

I have one of those triggers in the post- already plan to change cranks, drivetrain, tyres… But with stuff that is on what was meant to be by beater winter hardtail that acquired 11 speed xt, e13 cranks etc. So the XT. Off the trigger 2 will go on the hardtail, 11 speed pimpstuff on the trigger..

The cranks should have come with a tool you thread into the crank bolt to pop the arm off the splines
