    Wow! That is a bargain.
I’m not going to buy one , but that is certainly a great price.

    Hi Trout
I’m aware the Puffin is not really 29+ compatible .
I tried a Dirt wizard in there and its tight at the chainstay brace 4mm at closest.
I have a pair of used Dw’s I picked up, the plan was to try them out in there, if I liked the Dw in the rear (ooh er!) I’d consider grinding the mid section of the brace to allow more clearance.
I believe the Dw is on the smaller side of plus, so wouldn’t expect to get a chronicle in there.
I should really have a go on some 27.5+ and 29+ bikes to give me a feel for it.

    I’m interested in this also.
Hope now one minds me posting this here as
It’s close to topic , I didn’t want to start another thread.
I also have a puffin mk1 and love it for most of my riding,
Though I’m pondering a second set of wheels,
Either 29″ with dirt wizards ,2.5 minions
Or 2.4 Goma tnts on 30-35id rims
Or go down the 27.5 plus route
With something like 3″ tire on 40id rims
Quite a few options out there now,but a stumbling block for me is the excessive prices
of some of the plus tires, I’m looking at you Maxxis!
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of doing a similar thing and how it turned out?

I run my puffin with an surly ICT fork (47mm offset)
Seems to ride really nice , although I’ve not ridden it with the original forks for reference .
I also ran an oo Fatty with a salsa 47mm offset and found that fine too

Yeah , that does seem a plus, having only ever owed a barn door Vito, I
Was looking at a tail gate version next time with that point in mind!

As the Vito comes with dual sliding door as standard,
this is a plus for the Vito as I’ll be buying secondhand.
    Legend ,
Whats the benefit of the tail gate over barn doors?

I have an 02 Vito, it’s been a very reliable van over the 10 years I’ve owned it.
Rust is really getting the better of it now.
I’ll be in the market for a replacement soon, I will look at both dualiner and kombi.
I think the Vw has more comfy seats, should that sway me? Don’t know!
Slightly prefer the vw looks , but like the dual doors on the Merc.
Feel perhaps better the devil you know , mechanically the Vitos been
Sound, with only one break down last year , the dreaded stuck in injectors!
Metallic paint seems to help with the rust, so I’ll definitely go with that next time.

    Ok, thanks ruffride,
Cb I am hoping to get these converted as they are nearly ideal, having 20mm
    Maxlelite and tapered steerer.
I am running them on a Bfe mk3, just want them a bit longer and a bit more shorterer
    for climbing.

The user manual didn’t seem to give me the info I need.
Has anyone done this conversion, or similar?
The other thing is how can I tell if this model can go longer?

Absolutely recommend dmr revolver for good value and very quiet
Bought a rear 8-9 years ago, as a cheap alternative to hope.
Done a lot of winter rides, no maintenance , only just now,
could do with fresh bearings as they are sounding a bit dry/rough.

Thank you everyone for your help, still leaves me unsure, i currently run coil pikes on the heckler, i do like the way they work with minimum maintenance. Agreed they do seem to get stifled on repeated hits, but i guess maybe thats a small price to pay.
With the price of pikes going thru the roof, its just cos i’ve been offered lyriks at a pike price that i’m curious.

nearest quality bike shop is 20 miles away, so tend to get by on my own, but never mastered the brake bleedin thing.
