The anti-waxers will be along shortly to tell us it’s all a load of rubbish.

I’ve got a set of tech4 e4 with no issue.
Very happy with the power and feel.

I have old 60tpi Nates and 4.4 Jjs.
The Nates carcass is stiffer and the knobs much less squishy than Jjs.
I’d say they do give a more wooden ride feel.
I think it’s a combination of size/relative pressure, rubber/carcass compound and construction and my Nates are from around 2016 so rubber may have lost a bit of squish.
Nates tread has lasted a long time and much longer than the previous set of 4.0jjs.

I’ve had a pair a few months, they do a good job of keeping the water out though I don’t find they keep my feet warm when it’s cold though.
Mine also stink of pee already, guess I’ve not done a great job of drying them out.
I’ve been out in proper wet 3-4 times and they did well, and grip is way better than my older Adidas trailcross.
Just at shame they’re not warmer and that they honk already!

I’ve a tongsheng kit and battery for sale .
The motor has a fault which I believe to be a broken torque sensor so will be cheap for spares

I put a Bluto on a medium size puffin, the compression dial had to be filed down to stop in from contacting the down tube.
Probably only happen in a crash but worth considering as the mastodon is a wider fork.

Hi Sam Marino seem to be turning out frames at a fairly low cost.
I have a gen1 puffin, I believe it’s my favourite bike, just rides so well.
Weirdly the bike I’m almost always fastest on!

Does look like Parcelforce is the answer .

It seems £45-47 is the going rate to send a frame of £650 value.
I’m behind the times, I estimated £30-35, I think it’s the insurance really pushing it up.

    Thanks Rob1984p
It’s a full sus 29”,so seems very unlikely I’d get it boxed within Myhermes max size.
Also value apx £650 so need more cover than they offer.
    I’ll try Parcelforce

I’ve just fitted a Tongsheng to my wife’s Orange 5.
Cost under £400 to convert and seems to be working very nicely .
Bike now weighs 19kg which is very reasonable although it’s only a 10.6ah battery.
    First two charges have had
    46km and 38km
Second time I used it mostly in speed and turbo
Happy with it if it keeps working like this .

So, throw a Longitude in the mix (forget bouncers and go plus) and then buy your full sus gnarpoon instead, and then soon get buyer’s regrets on the commute and wish you bought a KM, and so then sell gnarpoon at loss, buy KM after all, and then wish you’d bought two used bikes because you can’t really afford the new bike/s that you want and, but look I have parts lying about. Welcome to my world 😉

Ha ha! This is extremely familiar to me!! 🤣🤣

I’m considering some hotpogs as I suffer with Reynaulds .
My hands and feet get cold at the thought of going out in just single digit temps.
Can anyone advise how restrictive they are should you need to get your hands out fast in a crash?

It’s because love the look of a steel frame, so yes, just that!
Considered alu, thought about the cheap Sonder frames.
I don’t think it a great deal lighter than a Solaris though.

    Hi CheesybeanZ
I’m guessing she is not like the orange either, but I’ll show here this eve.
The other possibility is I get a new powder coat done in a colour of her choice.

    Hi
As a cheaper option how about faster rolling tires?
    On my Marge lites
I alternate Nates in winter and Jumbo Jim’s in Summer.
The difference in rolling resistance is very noticeable .
The Jjs make the bike feel a lot nippier and a fair bit lighter too.

More than likely secondhand, around £400 although I’m open to suggestions outside of this .

The trouble I’m having with the post is it’s contacting a suspension pivot in the frame.

The lower on the 150mm is 20mm shorter so will sit 20mm lower in my frame .

Great back up from One up.

I ordered a 170 post, whilst fitting I managed to bend the actuator .

They very kindly sent out a new actuator for free even though this was my fault .

Whilst fitting I’ve realised the 170 is really too long for my frame and inside leg length.

They have said they’re happy to swap the seatpost over for the 150 version.

Really pleased with their response and thought I’d share my experience .

I found some info on mtbr which seem to show clearance on a 3” Dirt wizard and even a 29” x 3” minion with minimal clearance.

Thanks again all for the replies.
Generally I like my Rs forks but I could be persuaded elsewhere .
I’m keen on adaptable bikes and parts,
So a fork which can serve 27+ 29 and 29+ With the ability to change travel height if need be would be great.
I think the Yari 29+ has this covered ,now to wait for a set to come up cheap s/h!

Might have to go with eBay cheapos and Hope I don’t need to take the wheel out to often !
I wonder if I could tack the spacers on somehow so they aren’t loose …..
