Hated the stuff. Black sticky mess from day one despite thoroughly degreasing etc before initial use.
Now using ultimate bike solution and it’s amazing

after driving 1500 miles over the last 2 weeks in France I’d disagree with a lot of that.
We rode from Les Gets to Morzine a few times down the road with my Mrs and kids and we had a few cars get extremely close to us.

Seavers that would be great if you could..

@everyone else, I’d go every year and have done for the last few, but the Mrs isn’t keen on trying the same place year in year out and ending up having essentially the same holiday, eating at the same places riding the same trails etc etc

well done him! a great day out for all, good to meet you and Tony today (btw Tony yhm!)

my youngest got a cheeky leffe when we got in (well until his mum took it off of him).

Sam enjoyed his last run of the day with you both, he is totally jealous of your boys bike!!

@Jambo, old man skate night at Prime in Plymouth on Monday nights, tis great fun, but ye I hear you on the injuries, I definitely don’t bounce as well as I used to, but like it too much to give up for a while, I just built a 10ft wide by 3ft6 high x 24 ft long mini ramp in the back garden……tis ace!

I took up skateboarding again (I can’t afford an expensive MLC) its funking ace fun and a lot cheaper than mtb and a great workout.

I took up yoga and it injured my wrist, still recovering from an operation on 2nd june! beware the over extended wrist as my surgeon said he sees loads of similar injuries requiring surgery!

mount hawke skatepark is great for the kids to burn off some energy but I’ve no idea if you are remotely close to it.

Poah I hope your lad realizes how lucky he is!!
Currently here in Morzine and my 2 are coping really well on almost fully rigid 20″ pieces of sht in the mud! it has also opened their eyes seeing all the really cool bikes in their size, loads of commy 24″ full suss here…!

ripcord would be a dream bike for them!!
get some vids of him shredding soon!

sweet bike, if you dont mind me asking how much for frame only?

I am looking at 24″ bikes for my two at the moment, although they wont be getting owt like that.
stuck between the genesis core with rst air fork upgrade or “proper” 26″ frame with 24″ wheels.

    Propain Yuma also looks amazing!

I swim solo all the time it’s nice. Tow float always with me and always in sight of shore..
Good advice above on wetsuits.. Got mine from sport pursuit. Buy as decent as you can as quality differs massively.

green runs at Les Gets are ok cycling from Morzine will be fun for them too.
Anything else depends on their ability I guess..I’m going to try a circular route someone suggested on here on another thread from les gets, the tour du plateau de Loex, pleney family run too if its still there, marked blue on the map.

Malvern, you’ll like the open water, heated pools are awful places once you get used to being outside.

Avoid the speedo tri suits, they have a tri zip which can be undone quickly by pulling upwards as well as downwards…unfortunately as i found out early last april whilst swimming solo in the middle of a bay some distance from shore that zip can suddenly undo if you pull it a tad too far when putting it on. freezing water flooding your wetty and no way of doing it up until you reach dry land is a scary thing when out on your own…I was very grateful that I always swim with my chillswim towfloat and would advise anyone who swims open water to get one…
I still have the speedo suit but i have put in a tiewrap around the top of the zip so I cant pull it too far, but its an awful system.

    sorry for the hijack
    Cheers Stoner,
I asked a mate who lives there but he didn’t know, we’ll pack the BBQ now then!!
Also the pds route down to the lake and back down to morzine is it child friendly? they are 7 & 9 but fairly decent riders.

We’ve booked the ferry from Plymouth now so happy with that and we are travelling from 2200 overnight..fingers crossed for a relatively traffic free journey.

    @br
we looked at the chunnel as it is £140 vs £600 for the ferry, but as someone said up there its not much difference in driving time and having the last 6 hours of your journey not driving will be nice, coupled with a short 15min drive home after landing…worth every penny I think!

you guys got lucky ive 2 sets of friends who waited 14 and 20 hrs respectively! thats what put me off using the chunnel + its an extra 5 hrs to get to the chunnel as I live in Plymouth.

cheers though at least im not have to worry about loads of traffic!!

push up is ok ish, i can normally do 8-10 runs in a day but totally shagged by the end.
dont forget you can also go to tavi woodlands where the push up is easier and imo you get more riding done for less uphill effort.
