those lake ones in the review tab up there ^^^ look warm an toasty. for the 1st tim eever i think i going to invest in some winter footwear, i'll get either the shitmano mt90's or the northwave ones though, the lake ones are too toasty for the south!!

its wazzing down here (i live 2mins away from course)and has been for a wee while now. the course probably wont dry out although they will change some stuff that gets awful/boggy/unrideable in the wet, ive just seen the local forecast and its different to machine's forecast up there in that north devon, i'll be praying for sun but they're giving out heavy rain and 20mph winds all week, either way the trails will be a shitfest after 1500 riders over it so i'll be on my bonty mud x's and cursing whoever entered me into the madness.

see youse there and im afraid i cant comment on the actual current state of the course as i've never ever ridden it outside of a race and wouldn't ever consider it ever ever ever, I wouldnt dream of it, not even at night, or for that matter during the daytime either, and i certainly wouldn't know of anyone who had been in there either.

wot the said, they aren't to hard to bleed at all.

i'll be there too, trail snail racing.

i'll be alongside julian wilson pi$$ing/rimming/applying bum vinegar into sponging machines water bottles and hoping he'll be too tired to thump me when he gets in from the lap…

its not going to be too nice even if it dries up, mud tires a go me thinks!!

ah the joys of laps in the wet, well at least it'll make for interesting river crossings as that little river does get pretty fast/deep when the rain comes down off the moor like it has been doing.

2miles away from newnham here also. wazzing it down today,. and last nights ride was just terrible (no not newnham but cann just across the road) i'd leave the NN's off in favour of something more mud orientated a la Monsieur wilson's advise, i'll be on 1.8 bonty mud x's if it stays like this, spesh captains if it dries up a bit.

rich quantocks is still on atm, as long as its no torrential and driving wind we'll head up after i finish work around midday, i'll text as we leave.

    pray for sun.

i never really got the whole, ss if its muddy thing, i regularly ride through all manner of muddy chossy conditions and not once in many years has my drive chain given up (i did have problems with chainsuck on my inbred but thats a separate issue which is now fixed).

'apparently' the course is very overgrown around cottage descent and the 'new bit along the river' at the moment so i hope they get in there with the strimmers soon.

you can search my thread from ages ago, but i smacked **** out of my chainstay with a ball end of a hammer (nice job too) and havent had any problems since, so i'd reckon it'd be ok. at that price they are a bargain mate, get one.
