lionheart i've met your dogs up in haldon a year or so ago, cracking dogs i must say.

ive a choccy lab we've had from around 6months ago, he's nearly 4yrs old now and really nice to have around, the kids adore him.

mine have a rothan and an easy rider (won at the big bike bash :D)
the rothan is an ace bit of kit and more suited to learning on but the easy rider is just a piece of art, looks waaaaaay cooler with the chopper style faux leather seat massively wide rear tyre and slack angles. but the turning circle isn't great. all in all i'd go for the rothan its resale value on here means it'll never be as expensive as you think.

    jojo,
ouch thats pretty steep. in my clinic we do all that for £23!!!. also going on those prices your cast orthotics will probably be very very expensive (they'll cost him/her ~£60-90 max to send off for and retail around £100-200 depending on how much he wants to charge and IME very often unnecessary.

We try to get our patients to use cheaper products first and if they cure then either ween off until all is good (in the case of an overuse injury) or then manufacture a more permanent/custom made orthotic if needed

Google orthaheel pain reliever or vasyli products and you can try these things for around £25 and IME work more often than not, they wont look as spoofy as they're not flashy carbon but they work and are comfy, worth trying if your're on a budget or just have an overuse injury.

oh and do as goan says with coke can or golf ball or baked bean can staight from fridge, did pod person recommend any stretches also?

I was taking the piss out of her asking if she was a foot fetishist and did she suck toes as an extra etc

oh my god with the feet we get in clinic that the last thing we'd want to do..blurgh 😯

with that sort of injury a gp will tell you to rest as its commonly an overuse injury, not arse covering.
PF is generally worse straight out of bed in the morning. and dorsiflexing (bending upwards) the big toe whilst palpating the PF should give you a positive diagnosis. its inflammation of the pf caused by tiny micro tears when the pf is stressed due to one thing or another overuse/pronation/change of activity/increase in weight etc etc

low dye taping (what he probably did to you) only is proven to work for a few hours(ok for sports applications to help with pronation/pain etc) so ten days is pretty optimistic!
what orthotics did he sell you? how much?
    just interested is all..?
did you break your orthotics in gently? i'd suggest one hour per day (approx) if you are getting niggles i'd suggest backing off the orthotics and introducing them gently again to see if it makes any improvement.
wearing functional orthotics makes your muscles fire at different points within the gait cycle so introducing them gently helps your muscles get used to it.

before i went tubeless i think my fav tube had around 12 patches, why buy new ones when patches are just fine..? i dont understand the logic of buying new…patches are cheaper.

having worked in exeter for a while i can assure you its ratio of scummers is on a par with afjannerstan (i love that name!!)

on a more serious note it is a nice enough place to live and the facilities for cycling are slightly better (the bmx track for one and skate park by the river!!) than plymski (although from my house i can cycle to dartmoor in less than 20mins)

i had my 1st ss experience tonight riding julian wilsons ss around a bit of haldon tonight, am thinking now of getting a cheapo ss frame a la on one slidy and using it for a bit, it was weird not changing gear and having to almost sprint up the hills but i liked it. i reckon its a good way of getting fit quick and would teach you to pick a decent line.

there is this guy on here kaesae i think his name is, apparently he knows a lot about this subject..

on a more serious note, is there anything online..user guides service guides etc, generally speaking my fs bikes (epic/heckler/kona/dh bikes) have all been generally maintenance free and repair by replacement bearings once every 18months or so. as long as everything is cleaned it should last..<awaits mass stw flaming>

for a more cost effective fix a local engineering firm would be my choice, get a good one though!! my local one is run by a mtber so he is ace with any repairs.
£50 + postage for a tapped hole is bloody expensive. it takes less than 5 mins really.

on the flip side at least with orange they know their product.

let us know how you get on..

if you need any help then mail sponging machine off of here, he helps people quitting fags for a living and would be a good source of knowledge about all things as disgusting as the evil weed.

good on yer for giving it up, nowadays i look at people paying enormous amounts of money to breathe in smoke and then blow it out again as stupid morons and can't believe i used to do it, its just plain dumb.
