IME both whilst running last year and in my job as a podiatrist, beginners and hills seem to cause lots of tendon over use injuries. if you live in a hilly place then just take it easy and gradually, let your body become accustomed to the strain running puts on them.

if you do a search on here you learn that you absolutely must run barefoot and never ever footstrike with the heel apparently most people have been doing it all wrong..

whatever you decide, break yourself in gently to avoid injury, buy the best shoes you can afford and get them fitted correctly in a decent running shop, their advice is worth paying for over internet prices.
avoid hills to begin with and enjoy.

i looked into it and it was cheaper for my local spesh dealer to do it for me even though my local bearing supplier is a nice chap and i buy from him whenever i can…

where is he leaving from? the area surrounding the docks isn't the best place to be leaving stuff for a long time, i used to work down there.
I'd find a nice quiet street in plympton/plymstock and drop it off there outside someone's house.
how long is he going for and when?

ive spent a fair amount of my precious riding time clearing/digging unofficial stuff but alas no more due to the local fc volunteery type guy spending his spare time hunting down said trails and pouring all his biking hatred into log laying/berm destoying all over the woods.

shame as i used to like building. afaik there are no allowed trails near me either.

i use disco's for my juicy's hayes and m4's and mono6ti brakes, all good no worries and no problems whatsoever with fitting any of them..?
ive had more than 4 sets of ss pads separate from the backing so wont be going back there again.

edit . i never bed mine in, i just fit and use, pad life is very good always and stopping power equally as good, i dont get the school of you must bed in…?

they told us a while ago that they had orders to destroy all the unofficial stuff, would be a crying shame if they did.
i'll be up there tomorrow taking the mrs for a spin around the red run, so apart from nite rides there is something else its good for.!

jeez thats disgraceful, seller should refund with full apology.

how did you think they would be ok to fit and use? they wouldn't have gone anywhere near my bike!!

thats quite an oedematous foot/lower limb you have there…
i would be visiting again for a 2nd opinion just to be on the safe side.
in the meanwhile follow the p.r.i.c.e procedure as much is as reasonably possible.
tendons healing in 2 weeks! you lucky thing if they did!
i would also look at some physio for it too, it'll help you gain full rom and quicker full recovery.
    best of luck to you.
edit. just seen yr reply, if you cannot weight bear then deffo go back for 2nd x ray

never really considered the evo's as i thought they werent cut out for dh stuff?, am thinking about the t bones as i've heard the kyles arent great for lasting as the stitching comes apart really easily.

we only use it for nite rides now since they remodelled it, and for that use it is ace but its just so unbelievably dull during the day, such a shame as it has/had real potential for being a good red run not a pavementesque trail.

houns, basecamp is pretty dull, we were in kathmandu and bought a map then took a few weeks to walk up there staying in tea houses along the way, its a nice walk but deffo not an "acheivement" any tool can do it without a guide, a few idiots around also, one guy we stopped to talk with (a very nice south african chap) was with an american who when we asked them if they wanted to join us for a cuppa said (as he threw his can of coke over his shoulder) "**** that man, lets trek" much to our delight he was airlifted off later on in the trip due to altitude sickness…utter tool, some other american was overheard in one place complaining "you call this a burger?" to one of the locals who just cooked him a meal…
i have heard the annapurna circuit is much better.

assuming you have done everything correctly, and it still doesnt work then you may have to consder that you have a leakl somewhere, have you checked the hoses for any signs of damage, there could be a leaky piston seal or otherwise somewhere..?

my glass is always half empty btw…!

i have both the inbred and a 456, the inbred feels ace at 100-120mm the 456 feels awful at anything less than 130mm imo except when climbing

one SM's mates here, i have an inbred and a 456 and they are both ace bikes, the inbred will handle anything really well and it is ace in twisty singletrack.
im not a fan of how the HJ rides but then im probably just used to the onone feel.

i went out on a nite ride earlier on after reading this thread, and as soon as i got on the cycle path there was a dog egg with a stick stuck in it and a little paper flag on the stick…

    made me chuckle
