    Plympton based here,
ride tues/thurs evenings from 1930 & sun mornings 0830 (ish) with a small group, your more than welcome to join us..

as an aside the yogi’s are a good bunch, the tuesday nite ride starts around 6pm from B&Q plympton and is a fairly quick paced affair of around 2-3hrs, the thursday ride is gentler but they have a wierd way of sorting it out, they drive to yelverton then decide where to ride then drive off to where they have decided then ride..i cba with that, I’d rather just ride from the house.

I’m sometimes free during the days mon/tues too so always worth mailing me if you fancy some company, we can share some local knowledge!
same applies to anyone else really drop me a mail if you fancy some company…

EDIT..and by company i obviously mean someone to cycle with!

As an aside, has anyone compared the maxle rear end to the qr version, currently have no problems with the qr version just curious to know if you (honestly) notice any difference..?

    bikebouy ..proper fail that fella!

currently using hans dampf on 355’s <crosses fingers> never had a problem inflating with a track pump or sealing etc etc

oh and fwiw on a recent pb article, roval wheels recommend gorilla tape…
i have used in the past stans strips…useless as when you change tyres the strip peels back meaning more faff putting back on
bonty rim strips..hard plastic but do the job beautifully
good ol stans yellow tape…seems to do just fine too..

interesting you should say that ctm, I had a go on a mates alpine (small 16″ iirc) & the toptube felt really small, it was that ride that made me see that i needed the 17″ five, as previously all my bikes were on the small side for funability…
    horses for courses.

    good bikes though

5’10 here, had a med heckler ’06 and the tt was pretty short cracking fun bike though.
the 5 seems just right (for me) reach is very comfy and climbing steep climbs the front doesn’t wander, descends like a mini dh.

as a serial screen smasher, i get mine (yes multiple!) from ebay and fix them myself, many come with the tiny screwdrivers needed, and youtube is your friend for instructions…takes 5mins costs ~£10.

yes agree with that , we found it by accident when climbing up from holford, stopped to have a chat with some chaps coming down and spotted the trail head, had a go and what a gem to find!! road climb out is easy too…all good.
doesn’t help me with the screen grab though!!

I’ve not explored around that area of the tox much but there seems to be loads around there to play on, will be heading up there again very soon, for some combe bashing…
i have a strava route of what we did but can’t work out how to post up the screen grab..!

yes, ~2 years in now and no punctures (and I used to puncture a lot!)
no more faff changing tyres than with a tube IME, tyre on, inflate, put goo in re inflate , jobs a good un.
Can’t think why you would want to use tubes, useless things!

@ Iainc, a few of my clients have had it done, some a success some not. it depends on what you expect from the surgery really.
what problems are you experiencing from said naughty toe?

hearth is riven slate, custom cut to fit the odd corner, I think about £300 😯 the hearth for the insert is polished granite but cost loads so didn’t do that for the freestanding one.
we did look at a glass one but fitter (friend) advised against as all manner of stuff collects around on in and under it esp dog hair/fluff etc and we didn’t want to seal it as the sealant do3es look tired after a while and would discolour etc
we (sorry , she) can just stick the hoover under the free edge of this one and dirt is gone.

both of mine one is in the middle of being installed the other is an insert stove..

    poor mobile pics.

they give out some terrific heat and are fairly good on logs, i find mine lying around, chop them, then season in a log store ive built. its only big enough for a few ton nothing on the mcmoonter scale!!

on a trip to alps this year a mate had a evoc one i was very surprised how little protection it offered compared to the (free)cardboard one i had!

i love this site, I haven’t even mentioned ‘fit’ in my post simply asked if anyone had one and their experience of said helmet, ie “it was rubbish it fell apart in 3 days” or “really well made with a clever easy to adjust retention system etc etc” or “i’d avoid as it gave me rotational injuries i’d still be alive if only I’d listened to teej”
i didn’t ask how well will either of these two helmets fit my head.

chris db thanks for your reply.
