@IANV tiewraps leave sharp edges, maybe cut them off on the inside of jnrs swingarm, could be a nasty leg scratcher!

thanks for the replies (been away cooking bbq and drinking) after taking the pin out and putting back in the bars seem tighter but only if the little grub screw is on full tension any other setting and its loose as a goose.
will check the link above and maybe look at re ordering new bars and cleats.

edit: looked at the link, at those prices its cheaper to buy new dx’s than buy 2 sets of bars and springs and axle’s.

had hideous ibs for the last 15yrs or so, tried every spasmodic etc diet changes all to no avail, got prescribed nortriptyline (sp?) and its been a revelation, within a short space of time i suffered no cramps at all (which used to leave me crying on the floor several times a day) no runny poos etc in my case its been a wonder drug…

    clicky

this will take you to the tuning guide which i find very useful.

you should be able to find sag at around 3 turns preload (optimum) and no more than 6 turns (and no less than 1 turn)

edit: have you looked at base tunes in the lounge at all..?

mounting hardware not new though, scratches evident on the bar and spacers from previous use, shock body is flawless though (as was mine).

i am still undecided on cardinham, like crispy said you need 3 laps to get any mileage done and 3rd time round its a bit tedious.
I didn’t like the switchbacks (too tight) and hells teeth not worth it imo. but on the whole its fun, its a nice place to ride, and an added option if you are down that way.
I’m located middway (ish) between there and Haldon, I prefer haldon as you can get a longer ride and extend it with some off piste stuff…is there any unofficial trails there at Cardinham anymore? I’ve seen one dh run on somebody’s strava (cant remember the name).

edit, need to take my kids there soon to seehow they get on, they love haldon blue so hoping they’ll like the trails there.

had a lecturer who was pretty nervous once, his microphone was playing up so he held it….to the amusement of everyone all you could hear when he held it was the booming extremely rapid heart beat from his thumb!! poor bloke was in a state!

dry lectures are dull, try to make it at least interesting rather than an hour of information overload.

its possible 2 people from airshotz were taking photos non?

last time we were there 2weeks ago 2 people were taking photos but only airshotz handing out cards.

sometimes not a case of weak/strong though.

    to pick one example

If you have a medially deviated subtalar joint axis, then it ‘could’ lead you to ‘over’ pronate (some pronation being entirely normal) and in some cases overpronation can elongate the points between the insertion/origin of the pf and therefore strain the plantar fascia leading to small microtrauma (generally around the heel) and hence the inflammatory condition pf arises, AFAIK no amount of ‘foot strengthening excercises’ on the foot’s internal musculature is going to sort that out, and correction of the subtalar joint axis path with an orthotic to bring the foot into a more rectus position can bring relief from this problem (and other associated alignment issues).
orthotic therapy has its place, for jcl’s info the days of whacking a massive lump under the arch are over, most orthotics now correct alignment issues by altering the path of the stj axis from wedging under the heel.

Using shoes with arch support and hardly ever being barefooted is causing a legacy of problems which is then being compounded by the orthopaedic industry selling people insoles they don’t need. Strengthen your feet, don’t use insoles! They’ll only make your feet weaker.

genuinely interested to see your evidence behind this statement.

my shoes are wide enough but i still get numbness, but weird forefoot angle contributes to this, i need lemond wedges(sp?) to sort it out but so far can’t be arsed, inshoe wedges sorts it out on the mtb,

I’m with Jambo steve, rip his legs off!

I’d have thought wrangaton loop from Plympton ok for a 1st attempt, 27miles and 1.5hrs on fairly decent roads with nice scenery.
or up to shaugh crossroads then right down through cornwood-ivybridge-then back via yealmpton or straight back if he’s tired, again around the 30 mile mark and pretty good roads.

loads of info on here, do a search for ‘tubeless’
    it is worth it.
1 puncture in the last 2 years vs at least 1 every other week with tubes.

i wouldnt go back to tubes now.
