I got hunters a short while ago and they are shagged already, tread lasted around 6months and grip is useless, they are also quite uncomfy if walked in for an hour or more. I need good grip in the cow field behind our house which is generally at least 8″deep in muck, and dog walking the steep wooded areas behind it …
will check out the tay’s, not heard of them.
Jay Williamson does DH skill coaching at Gawton, a few friends have done it and got a lot out of the session, I think its around £45 for 4-5hrs.
get him on facebook or through gawton website.
I know of Jay and Maddie (fully sussed) and they are both really nice people but I don’t know anything about their coaching sessions but would expect them to be good too.
Is it bad up there then?
I have Tuesday booked for a cleave then over to grimspound, vitifer mine, Bennets cross, easdon tor, bowermans, manaton, cleave again.
Edit, can’t make Saturday I have the kids in the morning and afternoons is Gawton time. 🙂
i’ll be taking my stuff to work tomorrow, if im going i’ll mail you (assuming your addy is in your profile) if you no hear from me then Ive gone straight home from late work…
iirc there is a wed night ride from kennford (pub) starting around 6pm, decent pace i think, but pleasant chaps, I ride there after work sometimes but not regularly enough really, I *may* be up there tomorrow but due to work its not worth organising anything in case I have to bail.
just go on your own it’ll be fine and there will normally be someone else there, I’m always there on my tod be it night or day.
Err yeah they do, seen any sexist coke ads on TV lately? Casual sexism and I think it’s disgraceful, I hate the idea of women objectifying the male body, don’t they know we are Much more than That!
I think some people should lighten up a tad!
windy this weekend as a fairly large storm is headed our way (Sunday is gusting @50mph winds) so you may want to avoid the high traversing bits and stick to the combes. or plan it so you have majority wind behind!! (south-westerlies)
Board shape and volume and rider ability would be the factors to look at, for some good advice you can contact the guys at magicseaweed they will point you in the right direction.
im a gnats chuff shy of 5’10” and ride a 17″ its spot on, I wouldn’t want it any smaller or larger as its ok for longer rides and pretty ok for chucking it about.
looking at the forecast for the forthcoming week and weekend id say very wet very windy and hence very boggy in places, but it will still be fun (i think) the cleave will be ok but maybe worth the extra drive to the tox for betterer underwheel conditions?
or stay in the local woods…
*disclaimer I am not a weather man, I just looked at met office!
ankle blocks unnecessary and overkill ime( depends on VP site of course) local infiltration at VP site is quicker uses way less LA and less traumatic for you, if you have had it done then no worries, just wait it out we have a very good success rate with needling, and I hope you do too. if you have any questions you can email me.
@star fangled nutter, don’t worry about bleeding, it bound to happen and certainly won’t affect any outcomes in a negative way.
