3ride old dpx2 on a sentinel here and same knocking noise over chattery bumps as you describe. Rebound knob makes no difference to the shock it’s either fast fast or fast.
Warranty inbound. Hoping for a quick turnaround and a quiet bike!!

argh I’m properly torn now, I’m currently riding a rs monarch plus with debonair, but this has developed the open setting notch at about 25% travel, its also really annoying as despite 7 spacers (yes 7!) it still blows through its travel and its over inflated to 260psi and i’m 12.5 stone   but so many reliability stories with the CC I don’t know what to do.

may look at the vivid r2c !

Ah that sounds ok then, if it does clunk at least its fixable under warranty

    cheers chaps

Something to do with the CS engaged causing a clunking sound and feeling like a worn DU bush, seems very common issue, even a thread on here about it..

ye I agree on that, I’ve been building stuff in there since the early 90’s and it used to have half decent lines that were kept fairly well, after the last clearance it seemed there was a rush to get lines up quickly and sadly its been left like that.
I’ve become disheartened with the building there so now build/maintain elsewhere (when I can) and do the odd bit of tidying/improving in cann if I see something which can be done easily, but wouldn’t put any decent amount of energy into cann as it just gets ruined by the kidz.
have you guys ridden grogley or cafside? nice trails there.

for me its the only worthwhile riding in the area other than ‘TKY’ starting up by the picnic benches in Cann side.
All the stuff in Cann especially the jumpy area is shocking, small 1ft kickers into crappy built berms with little or no thought to how it would ride..tis a shame really as it could be a half decent place to ride.

if you park here and go through Nordic installations carpark, at the bottom is a gravel path, one line starts there, there are around 6 lines that side, at the bottom of the runs you can see over the fireroad, on that hill there are another 5 runs, all steep tech and fast as you dare, enjoy.

@bwizz If you are looking for more demanding tracks then head over to woolwell side, lots of steep techy lines there, cann is a bit rubbish for anything demanding really.
I won’t be riding for some time now due to my back but I’m sure someone on here could show you woolwell side..

    Hi Chris,

Give me a bell next time you fancy going up, I’m up there all the time and most Saturdays with my boys.
Usually I wear my trail lid there, but either is fine.
lots of variety, natural trailsy stuff and jumpy stuff from big (ish) to small..
have fun..I’m cannwoolduro tomorrow for a change. (on my new hardtail!)

@hodgy ha ye the mrs is from manchester and I used to climb in the peaks a lot, its actually not that grim there.

from a strictly mtb/climb perspective it would be the peaks out of the two, however like others have said if you like other sports as well, like surfing SUP sailing etc then down here is great too.

edit..I had forgotten to mention that there is a great climbing scene down here, and don’t forget all those amazing multi pitch sea cliff routes of north Devon and lands end/ bosigran etc that are only 1-2hrs away.

will give the knog a wide berth then cheers..
I dont think the spurcycle bell will suit the bike, hence the interest in the knog oi..
    timberbell is an optionthough

I’ve got these on my strive, they’ve done numerous uplift days at bmcc/bpw and gawton, 4weeks in the alps, and ridden fairly hard twice a week in all weathers, after 18months I’ve only just had to replace one bearing in the rear and had to true it once after coming up well short on a gap, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
