Just don't go there thinking you'll get a good days ride in , it was quite possibly the most uneventful/uninteresting day out I ever had.

    'Oooh look its another field'

'Yes lets hope it rains soon so something good happens'

Still if you don't try it you'll never know , would've been better going to Bridlington for the day!

There was a time when i used spd pedals no matter what , then I had a bad fall on my fs big bike(6" both ends) that wouldn't have been quite so bad if I hadn't been still attached to the bike :( , since then I changed to flats on that bike and kept the spd's for the xc hardtail.

I'm comfortable swapping between either type.

My wife has suffered with carpal tunnel for nearly 5 years , the 1st 2 years she just put up with it then went to the docs as it was getting unbearable.

3 times over the next 18 months the doc syringed some fluid out of the carpal tunnel which gave some relief but it was just a temporary thing. Eventually she managed to get reffered to a specialist who then put her forward for the operation to correct the problems(although this isn't always a permanent fix). She had the op 6 weeks ago and so far apart from an odd twinge now and then is having none of the previous symptoms (numbness/pins+needles/weak grip)

Some years ago when I was a thin roadie I'd pulled up at some traffic lights on the local high street , some chav(ette) in a saxo pulled up coming the other way and shouted,

'phwoar look at the package on that' at about 150 decibels,

    I replied ,

' yes , and it still wouldn't fill your mouth'

    cue red face

I'd be tempted to contact the retailer and ask.

3 years ago we bought a new Dyson vacuum that was in a sale for £155 , 4 days later we were in the same shop looking at other electricals and noticed a 'further reductions' notice bringing the price down to £120 a quick word with the manager and as my wife had the receipt in her purse we walked out £35 richer ,result. You'll never know unless you ask.

22.2 shimmed up to 25.4 on the big bike , 25.4 on the xc bike.

never snapped/bent any so don't see any point in changing , although I did have a pair of Profile carbon bars for 6 months that I found a crack on while doing a 'proper' clean , they went straight in the bin. If I was buying carbon then I probably would go to OS(but I'm no pimp whore  )

Sony Ericsson W995 is apparently a good one at the moment , avoid the N97 like the plague .This is from my brother in law who's a manager at the distribution centre for O2 , he says they must be getting about 30% of the N97's they send out back with problems.

My upgrade is due in Oct so thats why I asked him what I should be upgrading to.

If you haven't inherited the gene then I'd be a bit less inclined to panic however nothings written in stone and cancer is a possibility for all of us.

My wife's been having mammagrams for the last 8 years since she turned 30 due to high incidences of bowel and breast cancer in her mothers family(apparently these cancers share a common link)out of 13 brothers and sisters 8 have died from cancer ,2 survived operations(1 is her mum) and the remaining 3 died of old age.

The last test my wife had found pre-cancerous cells which she has had removed(touch wood) and she had the genetics test 6 weeks ago to see if she's inherited the genes , after talking we've agreed if they're there then she's going in for a hysterectomy and double mastectomy . We've got a 4 year old son who needs to keep his mum around!

I live about 2 minutes walk away from Horsforth train station on the Cookridge side , the planes are pretty noisy but as mentioned above you do get used to it , my bedroom window is always open a crack for fresh air and I sleep ok through it.

Any properties in line with the flight path should have some sort of triple glazing in bedrooms as the airport funded this when night flights were added.

Also as mentioned above there is some cracking singletrack right on your doorstep , I do a 14-15 mile route straight from my front door thats about 80% off road and never more than 5 miles from home in case of breakdowns and the only thing it's missing is a long downhill. There's also a quarry off the ring road for doing drops/jumping if thats your thing.

Triathlons are fantastic , I only wish that stupid B***H had been looking where she was going 12 years ago and then my knee wouldn't be too fcuked up to run anymore.

I was never a challenger for podium positions but really enjoyed the personal challenge and besting my own previous results. I had planned the next 12 months training around completing an ironman and was well pissed off(not to mention getting fat spending nearly 5 months on crutches)

try Chris Marshall cycles in Keighley 01535691073.

His workshops a bit odd (read stacked to the roof) but he does a cracking job , he once welded a disc mount to an aluminium frame for me and heat treated it properly too.

They were the worst ones when I did a comparison search for my insurance renewal, my Rover 75 diesel with them would've been £1246.00 protected fully comp instead of th £315.00 I did pay.

I did the Beast on sunday and thought that most of it was pretty good , although I thought the bits that climbed fire roads and then descended the same fire roads were a bit pointles just to add the mileage.

If you tap the ebay name into search then you come up with a member who seems to sell a fair bit of kit from the classifieds , so I'd say it's highly likely it was bought from you with the full intention of being re-sold.

However as others mentioned you asked and recieved what you'd percieved to be a reasonble price for it , put it down to experience . You're hardly likely to sell something on the classifieds with the stipulation that 'under no circumstances must you resell this item for a profit'

I'd reccomend doing a completed items search on ebay before selling and price slightly lower (if you feel generous)

You won't get subscription channels through a box the card isn't registered to though. If you're going by car then it might be as easy to chuck the whole box into the car.

Mrs carlos is 5'5" and has an XS mens Cannondale that came fitted with 170mm cranks , she's not happy with the 175mm ones on my bikes though says it doesn't feel right.

I'd reccomend trying shorter than 175mm if you can , an old GT i-drive I had came with 170mm cranks and it always felt like I didn't have enough leverage on steep hills.I'm 5'10"

You should be able to receive everything , however if it's stopping there and you're subscribing that payments still come out of a UK bank account , apparently they aren't keen on non uk accounts as it's only supposed to be available in the UK , you can still receive it in Spain and the western side of Greece so I can't see France being a problem.

It's a pre '98 frame(seatpost slot faces rear)sprayed up in clockwork colours cos it was free by a mate got the brake bosses removed at the same time, built with more modern bits. It's my favourite bike I've owned for years.

We always cook our meals from scratch as mrs carlos has quite a few intolerances.

Our all time favourite curry cookbook is 'an indian houswifes recipe book'
by Laxmi Khurana. The food that has come out of this book is simply amazing.

Until 18 months ago I'd been riding full sus for 8 years , I was flicking through the local evening papers classifieds and spied an ad for an old Orange P7 for £120.

Thought to myself 'I can make a few quid on this' so coppered up and bought it , 2 days later while cleaning it up I took it for a quick bez in the woods over the road and that was it I was hooked again ,it just took me back to where I started and it was fun and you had to work at it not just float over everything.

When I got back home I started stripping my 4" travel xc bike of the best parts to put onto the P7. I now run this which has become my main bike and I also have a 6" bike for more hardcore duties.

No way are hardtails outdated if you want a more connected to the terrain ride(not literally) then a hardtails definately where its at .IMO.

Pah , over in seconds my butt!I had a molar(1 in from the back) out 3 months ago , it took the dentist 45 minute to get it out , she had to stop 5 times as her arm was aching , well so was my ruddy mouth the next day.Mind you you should've seen the size of the roots they wouldn't have been out of place on a horses tooth.

Of course you may be lucky and have a great strong brute of a dentist to do yours , I took LOTS of ibuprofen and paracetamol to cope with the pain after.

I'm pretty sure a retailer has the right to not sell you an item if it has been incorrectly priced , even if it was them who got the price wrong.
