It's such a great feeling when they get mobile without any aid , Got my 5 year old going 5 weeks ago and almost straight away his 12" wheel bike looked too small for him , so daddy being daddy had to get him a new one , 16" wheel Mongoose mini moto bmx. It's wicked I keep shooting off on it myself :D

Your 5 year old knows your password?

My thoughts exactly, what about the bit that says commit to buy

Must be a good reader for her age too

My 5 year old knows his way round the computer enough to turn on the internet and reads well enough choose his own bookmarks 'commit to buy' would hardly be a stretch for most 5 year olds I think.

kids nowadays grow up with computers not like us old people who marvelled at the awesum power of research machines/bbc micro computer/ZX81/VIC 20 (delete as required)

If you have one locally have a look in JJB sports (cheapy discount sports shop chain) , I bought my lad a reasonable pair of wraparound shades with UV protection for a fiver last year.

Does it have to be new? , I'm selling a frame soon that has one in. It's quite marked but still works fine and am thinking of getting a dropper type post.

IME pc991 chains are made of cheese , I had snappage problems with the last 2 I bought , I've switched to pc 951's now they do the job just as well.Maybe I ought to stop mashing big gears?

You have to say fair play to Germany, they really are doing the job.

Yep they are , whereas England look like specatators in the crowd.

smile nicely at your postman , Royal Mail sacks make an excellent heavy duty weed membrane.

alternatively get some of this , http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Ground+Maintenance/Landscape+Fabric/d250/sd3225 .
That stuff they sell at B&Q type places is next to useless.

The wife once took a safety blade (the sort they use in warehouses to open packaging) through customs at Birmingham airport in her bumbag , through the x-ray machine and they didn't even notice it.

One of my riding buddies managed to break his , it snapped below the swingarm pivot. Mind you he was using forks that were a bit long for it so that may have contributed.

got woke up at 6.15 this morning to a card and 3 big blocks of dark chocolate mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm , then I went to collect fresh croissant at 8 ,at 10 my mate came round and we went for a 4 hour ride . When I got home the wife had made a monster salad and cooked/shredded a chicken and made a huge chocolate cake for tea.

I feel like I could burst and need to go to sleep.

Saw an otter while touring in nortern France , swam with a loggerhead turtle in Greece.

In the UK , see red kites/sparrowhawks regularly flying around the sky above the house. When we stopped at a bunk barn years ago in Ravenscar it was red hot and we couldn't sleep so went for a walk and while we were stood in a clearing a dog fox walked towards us and only turned away (on a forest trail) when about 3 feet away from us. It was like we weren't even there and I've never seen such a healthy looking fox it was immaculate.

I've ben here with a phone sale in the past.

Only send the item via 'Special delivery' it's the only secure method of posting via Royal Mail.

Make sure you open the phone and take a note of all the serial numbers on the sticker that usually under the battery (don't know if it's the same with iphones), my buyer suggested that the brand new phone we sent him didn't work so I sent him a message that as soon as I received phone no ***** back I'd refund him.

It's a well known scam to send back a knackered/non working phone instead of the working one.

Tell them to refund you but not to expect + feedback and that you will also be reporting them to Ebay.

the seller is probably tyring to sqeeze some more cash from you , tell em to stick it.

    You dirty bastuds.
What next, curry powder in custard?
Stop messing with y'food and gerrit etten.

Chilli and chocolate was drunk by the Aztec peoples an awful long time ago , the sugary European stuff arrived a good few hundred years later!

So maybe we shouldn't have messed with the original recipe's?

Aldi do a nice dark chocolate with chilli 99p for 5 small bars , really nice with just a little heat.

Dec '97 I was a thin and fit triathlete , just worked out my training plan for the next year and planned to up my distances.

I was about to leave work but noticed my front light was a bit dim so replaced the batteries with fresh ones and set of for home. 5 minutes up the road a car driver decided they couldn't see the cyclist on the pink bike wearing dayglo from head to toe so they made a right turn across the front of me.

At the time of impact I was doing around 25mph , contact was made at the rear passenger door/window and my left knee shattered the window as I sumersaulted the car. As you do I attempted to stand up and thought 'ooh that feels weird' looked down to see a huge hole where my kneecap had previously been (bluergh).

To tell the truth i was a bit more concerned about the bike but that was trashed , the next 4 months were spent on crutches with a ruptured patella tendon then after 6 months they opened me up again to remove the wire that held the tendon whilst it knit back together and I had another 3 weeks on crutches. Give me broken bones anyday soft tissue damage takes so long to heal.

at that price , definately too good to be true. The frame alone would probably fetch nearly that on ebay.

statistics tell you nothing until you become one!

I got 3 years commuting before my big accident happened , close shaves were an almost daily occurence the majority of drivers just don't seem look for cyclists they don't want to damage there own vehicle against another car.

I used to make a concious effort to be dressed up like a beacon when commuting and in the end it didn't make a lot of difference ,IMO the rural roads are the most dangerous as drivers probably wouldn't expect a bike on these roads early mornings while they make up the 5 mins lost having an extra slice of toast.

My accident was over 10 years ago but you couln't pay me to commute nowadays.

IME/IMO, the trick with Ikea furniture is to take the time to build it properly first time and to reinforce every join/seam with woodglue and screws

    +2

I spent a (afternoons for pocket money) couple of years building flat pack Ikea stuff for a landlord, unless you glue every seam and joint you'll be lucky to see more than 12 months from the furniture .Got it down to 15 mins per wardrobe .Made more than pocket money in the end and it was a shame when it ended

Coming off one of the road connecting links on our local ride found a couple in a car , she was pleasuring her male companion in an oral fashion. She flushed up a treat as we rode past waving and laughing

Avoid Acuvue Advanced. They are rubbish. Acuvue2 are excellent though.

I use Acuvue advance bi-weeklys and find them fine and also tend to use them for 3 weeks at a time without problems.

next time I go I might ask about the Acuvue2's though and give them a try.

Have a look at Sunncamp tents , we have a vulcan 600 6 berth . It does take quite a bit of room up in the car but we have an estate so it's not such an issue.
    In Cornwall last year.

Beeen building my own wheels since I was 12 (now nearly 40) I've never used a tension meter just check tension by feel.

Lace up and nip the spokes up to the rim , then make sure they're true vertically the slowly make sure they're true laterally, de-stress regularly and keep checking the vertical.

As mentioned you could buy cheaper but I find wheel building therapeutic and love the buzz of taking a newly built set round the local wood.

Slayer – Reign in Blood, Angels of Death

Both of which were played at No12 never mind 11 last night.

Got a mate coming to see them on Saturday and his only knowledge of them is that track of Guitar Hero….. his ears are in for a baptism of fire.

LOL , too right , my ears are still whistling

There should be a hole in the bottom of the dishwasher with a vented lid , lift/unscrew the lid and add the salt to it(you can buy dishwasher salt at the supermarket) although I've been led to believe that many modern dishwasher tablets have salt added during manufacture.

We used a weeride too , they do get in the way a little bit but you won't be riding in a mad way with your pride and joy in the seat.

The only problem we found was when we did the full 'Camel trail' in Cornwall 2 years ago. A 3 year old gets extremly floppy when tired/asleep and as the weeride sits the child quite upright they tend to fall forward. We ended up letting him lean forward onto the pad and made a pilllow with one spare top and tied him on with another.

Nowadays we have a tag-a-long that he loves and 2 weeks ago he got onto 2 wheels unaided :D

I'm a cheapskate I use hair conditioner to shave. It moisturises and helps the razor glide across your skin.

I used to mainly use king of shaves oil but conditioner was reccomended to me by a beautician friend of my missus and works fine.
