Looks sweet , but you could do with some decals to finish it off.

We'd spent the day at Stonehenge and were doing some shopping in Salisbury on the way back to the campsite , walking through a shopping precinct there was a big crowd outside a shop we thought it must have been a good street performer so went to have a look.

Turned out the crowd was outside a tv rental place , the first tower had been struck and just as we saw the tellys in the window the 2nd plane hit.It was a very strange feeling to see something like this happen , we just walked away in a bit of a daze.

We stopped here at spring bank , seemed like a reasonable place. There's an onsite bar if you're too tired for the 10 minute walk into town (shedloads of places to eat and drink).

Only a short drive to the trails at Glentress and Innerleithen.

Got one of these for my 5 year old and he loves it , I even had to take him out in the rain tonight.

It's not the lightest bike and the original tyres are a whopping 2.4 section so I got him some smaller more street tyres to replace them till he's a bit stronger.

No problems with my Hydrapac , they changed the closure on them to one that works.

You'll need a road front mech , an MTB one won't cope with the larger rings on a road chainset.

Probably not , at a guess the shims fit the Straitline stems flush and look a bit prettier.

Been round the local park on my Torker pro xl this afternoon with my 5 year old on his Mongoose mini moto.

Stayed away from the ramps though , didn't want the local kids to show me up.

Tommorow I shall be going the A64 via car. However in the future I may have to take the train. So was wondering how long it would take to either walk or cycle or if there is a bus.

I hate the A64 , don't know why. Prefer to take the A658/A59 it just seems like a more relaxing route (and it's easier to get to from where I live)

EDIT : If you're coming from Bradford it could be the better route for you too.

They do this at my wifes work.

I'm not sure if it's true but I was told that your employer is allowed to allocate all of your holiday entitlement , it's just a case of put up with it I suppose.

I have trouble getting to book all my holiday , we get 23 days and I buy back another 7 via a weekly reduction in wages and all the decent days get booked :(

We had a family day out today and there was something on the radio about Axl being really angry with the organisers at Leeds. Guns n Roses did their usual thing of being late on stage (LOL, at least they turned up) and got their set cut short.

It's about time Axl Rose got his head out from his bum and realised he owes something to the fans who line his pockets.

For what it's worth I always thought they were sh*te.

Best exercise for adding a bit of strength to the knee is , get a dinning table type chair ,sit on the floor with your ankles either inside or outside 2 of the legs , depending which you've chosen to start with press in/out for a 10 count and swap then repeat.

This is one of the best exercises the NHS physio gave me after I ruptured my patella tendon in an RTA. Before I started doing them I only had very limited control when I started walking without crutches.

£60 a ton 8O , crikey they saw you coming I only paid £28 in April when I was doing some stuff in the back garden.

    OP
This is the kind of membrane you want , not the stuff most garden centres sell as it's not strong enough. As mentioned above you want at least 20mm gravel anything smaller is just kitty litter.

Are you allowed to keep and eat the deer?

Nope , you're not allowed to pick stuff up that you have knocked over but the person in the car behind could legally pick it up.

If they're happy with it then good luck to them , personally I can't understand it myself.

Have a couple of mates now in their 40's who got into the 'swinging' scene (due to his midlife crisis) , in the end he ran off with a 18 year old lass. They got back together and his bit on the side even moved in too 8O , but eventually his wife had enough and on a holiday abroad had a play away herself

Once back in the UK she started divorce proceedings .She's since married to her fling.

Used to run a RF Ti signature and killed it in 3 months , I nearly cried after what it cost.

Could've been a one off but personally I'd not risk it again.

My SS Isis BB has been in my P7 frame for 3 years of at least 1 ride a week and is still going strong , I'm no lightweight at 15st either and give the bike a fair bit of hammer.

I reckon somethings loose or you got a duff one , it should still be under warranty send it back for a replacement.

The forks I fixed didn't have a top out clunk , their problem was a lack of travel due to one of the lower seals going and most of the oil in the damper migrating into the lower leg so travel stopped after about 20mm when the fork reached the migrated oil.

Recon solo air forks are a doddle to fix , I did some for a mate (damping side) 6 months ago. Just be very methodical and keep everything clean.make sure you have a reasonable set of circlip pliers before you start.

All the the info you need to repair them is on the rockshox/sram website and there's a few 'how to do it' vids on youtube if you need some extra encouragement.

when we go down from Leeds to Polperro we set off at about 2am and take it really steady (about 65-70mph indicated) and it usually takes around 7 1/2 hours

Personally I'd save up another £15 and get the 900 lumem (allegedly) magicshine from dealextreme.

I've got 2 and it doesn't half kick a lot of light out with them both on full.

As above , I will post abroad but only using a secure signed and tracked method. If the potential buyer won't accept the shipping quote then they get told 'don't bid'.

it's getting to the point where I only use secure postage methods within the UK too , there's too many scammers about now.

don't drive on motorways much then..

as it happens no. obviously I know that the majority travel at more than they should (myself included on short journeys) , the strange feeling is how slow 70mph feels when it should be the maximum anyone is travelling at as they zoom past.

I saw a police documentry once where the traffic cop being interveiwed said 'I tend to ignore any vehicle going up to 85,it's too hard to make a conviction stick till they're going any faster'.

    carlosg

I left Padstow at 1.45pm yesterday and got home in Leeds at 9pm , just over 7 hours , if you'd listened to the radio there were plenty of warnings about the traffic being a nightmare.

Did most of the jouney at an indicated 70mph too , it's really strange when nearly everyone is passing you but you're doing the legal speed limit.

In between Padtstow and Newquay , we went last year and my 5 year old loved it so much he bugged us to go back constantly after Christmas. we go back in the school holidays.

Prices are good and there's all the facilities you could want either a short walk or drive away.

Just something fairly small to pop in my camelbak

the size will depend on how long you want to keep the bike , are you goig to lock the bike in the same place each day? if so then you only need take the lock once then leave it in place .

I've got a Squire Paramount plus which cost me £50 about 8 years ago that I'm very happy with , but I wouldn't want to carry it every day.

Robert Holdstock , 'The Mythago Wood' and it's associated spin offs always caught my imagination with their hopping from this world to that.

Edit: oops teach me to leave a thread open while I go read bedtime stories.

Myself and a mate did the canal in a day 2 years ago for a charity ride , it took us 14 1/2 hours and every mile from Skipton on hurt like you wouldn't believe , every time we stopped for a breather I curled into a fetus position on the floor.

We did the ride in the middle of July on a Sunday setting off from Liverpool at 6.45am. Most of the ride is pretty easy going , the section around Wigan is the only real climb but it's quite long (about 14 locks but well spread out). You need to go round the Foulridge tunnel but the signs are quite good. The section around Gargrave is a killer as there's about 5 miles of grass without a real pathway that really saps any energy you have left.

We took a break for 10 minutes every hour and 3/4 of an hour at the halfway point , nutrition for the day consisited of a good breakfast , 10 energy gels throughout the day and 3 peanut butter and banana sarnies at lunch. Despite copious amounts of vaseline being applied to my nether regions my perinium looked like some sadist had taken a belt sander to it and was sore for 3 weeks after.

If i were ever likely to do it again(no bloody chance!!) I'd definately do the food differently , it was a fantastic experience but it really took it's toll on me , but the 2 of us raised over £1000 for a local sick childrens charity so that made all the pain worthwhile.
