Been using this place for 5 years and I don’t think that the price has gone up in that time.

It’s between Padstow and Newquay (the closest village is St Merryn) not much on site apart from a decent toilet/shower/laundry block and small kids playpark. The onsite shop only opens for a hour in the morning and evening for stuff you may have run out of.

Local beaches are brilliant and for the most part dog friendly (great if you have one). We’re looking forward to being there in August.

The Encona Carolina reaper sauce is one of my favourites, it’s fairly hot but has a nice smokey flavour going on in the background.

For really hot chili sauces check out the chilli shop Leeds. You have to order through Facebook at the moment because their website got hacked and the new one isn’t up and running yet. They have some mentally hot sauces for serious heat pervs.

I’m no expert and I’m still working out what everything does but am really happy with the Sony A6000 I bought last year. Digital veiwfinder but a really small camera with the standard lens on (not so much with the 55-210mm lens on)

As you probably guessed someone already makes one for dogs and cats . https://www.whistle.com/
We had one from a market research co that we test products for occasionally , it told us that we have a very lazy cat.

    “Leave” is a racist project.
🙄 Obviously! Makes my Iraqi neighbors racist and my youngest sons best mates family (from India) racist , oh and the lovely Iranian bloke at the sweet shop he’s a complete racist . Must be they all voted leave.

Well executed tattoo! Not what I’d choose but the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things.

An Indian Housewife’s Recipe Book by Laxmi Khurana has been our go to curry book for the last 20 years. We’ve killed one copy ,are currently using a threadbare one and have a spare on the shelf for when it dies.

The link is for the ebook but can be had for a few quid via Amazon.

Loved it ….. When I was 20 years younger and 4 stones lighter. A car accident and mangled knee while riding put paid to my running but for the 4 years I did them I loved it. Super fit ,loads of stamina, good physique.
If you start getting the bug you can be a bit anal about training , I certainly was (running kit laid out for a transition after a fast ride home from work) but great while it lasted.
Go for it you probably have most of the kit needed already just need a structured training plan and look forward to summer.

Going on my own experience and reading those above I’m of the opinion that the Aldi cordless drills are a bit hit and miss. I managed to get 2 months out of the one I bought before it just packed up , lucky for me a mate was upgrading all his 24v Makita stuff for 36v and gave me one of his old ones with a few spare batteries.

IMO no. In our home No1 son got his first phone at 10 , it wasn’t a smartphone and was good for text and calls only. After 12 months he’d proved that he was capable of looking after a phone and we bought him a cheap Chinese smartphone for £75 that lasted 18 months till it was replaced last Christmas.

Nice to see some Gisburn love , I really liked it from the first time I went. It’s everything Dalby forest could’ve been to my mind.
Got some time off in the new year so I’ll have to get over there again.

Slayer/Lamb of God/Anthrax/Obituary 4 weeks ago at Manchester arena was bloody loud. My ears stopped ringing after 3 days ,my eldest son (13) faired a bit better and stopped after 2.
    Cracking gig though!😁🤘

For the 10 years after we got together the wife and I drank so much our back teeth were floating then quite suddenly when we got to our late 20’s we just about packed in over a period of a few months.

Now nearly 50 we have the odd drink socially with friends , very rarely more than 2/3 at any one time. We always have quite a bit in the house (currently 7 different spirits,28 bottles of wine,5 bottles of beer) but the draw we once had has all but gone.

We enjoy a drink but can take it or leave it.

Mike Shevdon ,Sixty one nails/ The road to bedlam/ Strangeness and charm.

Another ‘otherworldly’ beings living among us series , easy entertaining reading with a bit of humour added. I enjoyed them anyway.

Probably going to get plenty of naysayers but I’ve never had a problem with the Chinese origin Solarstorm lights off eBay .

£15 (ISH) gets you plenty of light for decent pace night riding. Yeah you need to make sure you don’t leave the battery charging unnatended in case it goes pop (never happened to me yet in over 10 years) but for the price I don’t think you can go wrong.

Been a postie for 20 years.

My office work long and short shifts (i.e. shorter hours Mon, Tue and Sat when workload is less) but finish at 14.30 each day depending on workload, RM are phasing out job and knock stating you should work your contracted hours .Full time pay is £432 for a 38 hour week , there is an extra £25 delivery supplement for the junk mail we deliver.

Management can be very aggressive towards staff , I’ve had good and bad managers as long as you doing what you’re supposed to they can’t bully you. Annual leave is 20 days + bank holidays but you can salary sacrifice to take this up to 30 days. Sick pay once a permanent contract is in place is 6 months at full pay.

Offices have different arrangements regarding days off , in mine your day out moves on a day each week resulting in a long weekend every 6 weeks if your day off is a bank holiday you can carry it over as an extra day off or be paid.

Job security is generally good obviously it gets better the longer you are there. It definitely isn’t the easy job it was 10 years ago you’re pretty much full on from the second you start walking but I have always enjoyed it.

    https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/field-waterproof-mens-vibram-boots-p20507.aspx/brown/

Currently wearing the shoe version of these from mountain warehouse. Plenty waterproof and very comfy , prefer the ankle mobility of a shoe than a boot myself and wear them for 4-5 hours hard walking five days a week (postie).

Mountain warehouse don’t like me much though as they have a 5000 mile guarantee on their Vibram soled footwear and I’m ripping my way through the soles in around 1000 . I can hear the groan as I approach the store every 6-7 weeks with receipt and boxed worn out shoes 😂

Just replaced my nearly 3 year old Blackview bv6000 with a bv8000 pro 6/64 GB  (looked at the 9000 but apparently quite a few have had issues with it) paid £119 on Amazon for it . Was happy with my first Blackview phone  so hopefully this will be as good.

I did one on my last car (Rover 75 diesel) it was a bugger of a job . 4 axle stands , 2 trolley  jacks , a few skinned knuckles and 3 days of swearing . DMF won’t necessarily need doing if the car has been driven with respect as they wear more if the vehicle is driven hard. The only reason I ddid mine myself was the job was more in the garage than the car was worth!

I got closer than that to someone in a supermarket car park today , they shot across the back of me  as I was reversing into a spot(they were going for the same spot) and now have a monster dent in their offside front wing.

Means I had to spend 2 hours on the phone to insurance and garages and emailing photos that definitely weren’t in today’s plan. :-(

I’m heavier than you and ran 180/140 Hope mini (originals) on my P7 that I got rid of 4 years ago. I live in Leeds and it’s quite hilly in places and I never had any problems. As long as your brakes are set up properly you should be fine.

There was just the two of us for the first 15 years before the kids arrived , now we have 2 (13 & 7) . I’d be lying if I said it’s all been plain sailing as it’s been really hard at times but not once have I thought about leaving . The teenage years started in March and they’ve been an eye opener and my 7 year old has a form of epilepsy and sensory issues , but I luv em all to bits and can’t imagine what life would be like if I couldn’t see them every day.

Knee pads and full face are my minimum for some DH runs that I know well .If it’s somewhere new that I’m not sure about or somewhere like Antur then I’ll don an upper body suit too.

For XC I’ll wear lightweight knee pads and a regular helmet.

My knees are fairly shot so I try to keep ’em protected.

We have a pair of Sony WH-H900 that we primarily bought for our youngest son who has a few sensory issues , the noise cancelling function works great for him in loud crowd/music/motor racing situations . The sound is pretty good on them but they aren’t fantastic for people with small heads ( my wife struggles to keep them on). Battery life is amazing we get over 20 hours use easily. Bought ours on an Amazon treasure truck deal for £99.99.

There have been reports of them buzzing a bit from the right ear when using the noise cancelling function but I haven’t noticed it on our set.

Have a look on Groupon , bought my last mattress of there for £299 . It had an rrp of £1600 I thought ‘yeah right, load of bo****ks’ but when I googled it there were a couple of online suppliers selling it at that price.

I sold a WMF silver plate art nouveau tray/sugar bowl/ cream jug on eBay about 5 years ago , I got £168 for it which I was fairly happy with at the time . Its possibly worth more now but we needed the money at the time.

Band – Slayer . Just blown away the first time I heard their music.

Album – Reign in Blood/Slayer. Pure aggression from start to finish and my go to album if I’m stressed or a bit down.

Song – Deja Vu by Iron Maiden  , its always made the hairs on my arms stand up for some reason and will be the tune I get burnt to.

Don’t see a problem with it myself  I have a couple of pairs of lycra shorts that are similar in length to a pair of boxer shorts . If anyone decides to have a giggle at my expense then at least I’ve made someones day (+ I know its a grower not a shower :-D ) . They go under a wet suit better for surf duties too.

Off to Zakynthos in Sept, had a couple of nights out at scout camp last week and hopefully a few days in Wales at the end of July.

Really nice huge pasties from the little bakery in Marazion (just up from the ferries)

I’m not even sure how much a single portion is at our Leeds local but 4 fish , 2 chips , 1 battered sausage ,1 portion of pineapple fritters and a large curry comes in at £23.50.

I don’t think that’s too bad a price for that amount , the fish are enormous as are the portions of chips (hence only 2) all freshly cooked . Well worth it.

Someone mentioned mushy/tasteless fish , that’ll be cod then #bluergh . The guy who has the chippy on my post round started serving cod instead of haddock when there was a price increase , myself and a work colleague asked him to get some haddock in and he said ‘yeah but it will be 70p more than before’ after 2weeks he stopped the cod off the menu as everyone was stumping up the extra for haddock.

My Rover 75, owned for 10 years till the repair costs were way in excess of the cars worth. So comfy on a run.
