    EDITED

Just bought some Shimano MW80's for £85 so I reckon thats a bit of a bargain, everywhere I've looked have been over £100. (watch someone prove me wrong)

The Tall Man- Did you get one of the new 2010 rear ends? They don't have the pinch bolt set up wich eliminates the pinch bolt failure scenario but it's the same style as used on the Blur Lt.

As per jay tee photos in the link http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=573565

I've just re-proofed my Endura jkt with the Nik Wax stuff. I lobbed in the jkt with 3 lid fulls of Nik Wax Tech Wash on a cool wash, then applied Nik Wax TX Direct (spray bottle not wash in) whilst still wet/damp, follow the rest of the instructions. Job done.

uplink – Member. Give him the option of sending it back [at his cost] & refund him his purchase price when it turns up
Either that or tell him to go whistle

You can't be more fair than that. As long as it's as described in the listing.

I've been playing around with the settings on my 130-150mm 2010 Revs and over the course of a week tried several different settings/pressures.

What I did find was that both the neg and pos chambers lost around 20psi each time I re-connected the pump. So weather the neg chamber is small or not the volume of the pump is the same so the drop should be equal surely??.

I'm hoping for it to stay dry but if it rains it rains. Isn't getting caked in mud etc all part of the fun?? Sure I'm all for dry dusty trails but I live in the wrong country for that and my bike and kit WON'T be put away when it gets wet out like some.

I think I'll pack a jkt just in case

    The Feckers!!!!!!!!!

Si & Matt I'm absolutley gutted for you guys.

I'll keep an eye out, I check all bikes in detail now anyway, but you know why.

Have you tried Gumtree too as the scrotes sell an abundance of stolen kit on there because they're more lax about stuff than flea bay and you can delete you advert/post after its sold (apparently)

Oh, I've got a Ninja outfit, will that count as hero costume??

@Oneoneorange, I reckon the series III package is more than enough for a push bike no matter what it is. If they really want it that bad they'll get it one way or another. You also have to take into account the size of the chain, in the review the chap mentions about it fitting between the swingarm on his motorbike, with 19mm bar the links will be massive (19+19+gap in the middle). Think about passing that through your spokes, forks, frame and swingarm???

Thanks for the replies, I did think that The Shefield Country Walk was going to be a No-No, kinda gives it away in it's title but just had to ask as I have seen people riding along it in the past.

@thefallguy – Yeah I know that route and am looking to add Ladybower onto it.

I'll try the suggestion of the twisty byway that drops into Bamford as that sounds fun and keeps you off the roads.

    Cheers

Ah good point I obviously mean, Strines the hamlet in between Marple and New Mills of very little if any fame?

But it does have some good riding and leads to plenty more

Thats going to be a mamouth day out.

Only routes I can think of without road riding or using a car/train/bus are up and over Jacobs Ladder, round Kinder, over middle moor, over Lantern Pike and work your way over to Strines and Brook Bottom via Aspenshaw Hall, Castle Edge Road and The Midshires Way

    OR

Along Rushup Edge in to Hayfield then along The Pennine bridleway, right up towards Lantern Pike then pick up the rest as per Aspenshaw Hall etc..

    I found these excellent http://www.bikemaps.co.uk/peak_district.htm
and also the Explorer map OL1.

is it worth the trip down from Manchester for the day, not specifically to the Downhill event but in general??

kukuruza – are they the ones that go through the garden from the remains of the house, there in blocks of about 5-7??

They are good fun to manual down a flight at a time when there are no walkers about. One of the highlights of the ride for me as you have to maintain the momentum and line but it gets trickier near the bottom as they get a bit steeper.

Good plan and well executed only issue I'd have is the anchor looks poor quality.

    What size??
You could always pop in the local (if it does food) or a local chippy/kebab shop, anywhere that does food really and ask the manager/chef if they have any that are getting chucked out. I used to give away loads of empty 20ltr fryer oil tubs with lids to those who wanted them.

If your looking for lazy research then try

    http://www.bikemaps.co.uk/peak_district.htm

I bought a bundle a few years back and still keep finding new stuff to link up and ride. Well worth the ££ if you can't be assed trawling maps and contors etc..

then you can decide for yourself the best MTB route in The Peak

if it's an 'up & over something like this

    http://www.rcms.co.uk/item82.htm

If it's the twin door type a quality hasp & staple fixed using smooth head coach bolts along with a quality padlock (£30+)

    OR

cheapest method is as Buzz mentioned

£260 isn't that bad really considering it's only 1.8 m3 off the barrow boys where you only pay for what you have and they bring the barrows, it's far far easier to cough up the cash than have to mix it yourself thats for sure.
As mentioned compacted mot (or rock dust) as a sub base then a 50mm (2") concrete layer would half the cost whislt still giving you the finish you want. If your thinking of anchors then dig a couple of deeper bits to allow for more concrete depth to fix to or get an anchor that you simply concrete in.

In a shed a simple way is to:-

    1) Cut hole in floor to required size
    2) Remove whatever is underneath if on flags or concrete pad to about same size as hole in shed floor
    3) Dig out earth to required depth
    4) Shutter up void with any old crap boarding, 6mm Ply or similar to stop it running out between the shed floor and actual earth.
    5) Mix strong concrete mix and fill hole level with shed floor.
    6) Wait till its set
    7) Fit anchor. Job done

Had this with my Heckler after riding in wet conditions or washing, the cure was a lizard skin neoprene headset seal under the seat clamp where the split is and after each wet ride/wash remove the seat tube and turn the bike upside down and leave it like this over night.
