Don’t think you can fit a threaded BB into a press fit BB frame that easily, if at all. Maybe there is an insert available, but I’ve never heard of it.

Easiest option is just get like for like

Considering a second hand purchase and want to know what to budget for these services if required

Ask for proof of last service for forks and shock or factor in £200 for both to be fully serviced and start my own service regime from there. If its got a dropper then add another £60

Sh!t the bed Rob, that sucks!!! . Healing vibes to you mate, try to focus on the positives. Hard sometimes I know when you’re laid up and everything is just rolling round in your head, along with all the ‘what ifs’ but the time will come, and you’ll be back out doing stuff you love again.

I had a week courtesy of the NHS a couple of years back after an OTB on Mother Cap resulted in a lacerated/split kidney. I managed to get home ok and round to A&E. From there it was a series of scans, drugs and ambulance over to Stepping Hill. A week in hospital, more tests, a couple of operations later and still bruised I was allowed home. I’ve been back for further scans and that but have been given the all clear. I did manage to get out on the bike after a coupe of months, but was very tame stuff. Back to normal now and I try not to think about it when on the bike, as it was just one of those things.

All the best to you pal.

Only seated properly on one side can see the bead on the wall hooked in other side at best after several more tries about half appears to pop into the rim groove…other than more tape any opinions on is it worth sticking a tube in for a couple of days and see if reshapes the case a bit.. tends to drop to centre when pressure released

I’d go with more air (max as written on the tyre) and a spray with soapy water on the stubborn bit of the bead. This should get the tyre seated properly, then add sealant through the valve core.

If all the above fails, then I’d go more tape, and then do the above

Going off what I’ve just heard on the radio, I think you’ll still be paying the SD as an offer has been accepted.

That doesnt seem right as I’d expect it to be at the point of completion.

Maybe I misheard/understood it, but that’s what it sounded like (shrugs, paid our SD 3 weeks ago upon completion)

    @RichPenny

At offer accepted stage, hoping to complete in 6-8 weeks. So it’s a £6k bonus for me if things work out. Obviously extremely harsh if you’ve just completed. But to be honest, I’d rather have completed in March/April and paid the £6k. Crapping myself that chain will collapse again, hoping this will help glue it together.

Going off what I’ve just heard on the radio, I think you’ll still be paying the SD as an offer has been accepted. Best to check with your solicitor though.

I’ve been using Plot a Route for a while now. Works well, easy to send to devices if you need to, save routes, use routes created by others etc…

Ordered plenty off them and only ever had one issue with a lost parcel. I was refunded, but the whole refund process was a drag and I waited quite a while. However, whilst waiting for a refund I ordered some other bits and they turned up in about a week.

They are in Spain so a bit hit and miss with deliveries atm, Covid etc.. but I’ll use them again if the items are in stock and the price is right.

What makes you think they are Shysters??

    Operation

We had Charlies left eye removed about 2 1/5 yrs ago (he is now 16/17) and he has been absolutely fine. Yeah he fell off the work top a couple of times and took a few days to adjust whilst inside. But since then he’s not had any other issues at all. As for quality of life. I don’t see (pardon the pun) that his has changed. He still goes out all the time as he too is an outdoor cat, coming in for food and now and again into the garage to sleep. Obviously not a big fan of staying in for the rehab, but it was what it was.

We had ours done on the Insurance and think it was about £800 – £900.

From memory it was the lens that seemed to have become detached and was pressing on the Iris or some chamber. It also looked like conjunctivitis, but a specialist scan revealed otherwise.

For me – From the bus stop at Mam Nick drop left towards Greenlands, climb back up to Hollins Cross, then descend to Back Tor Farm, scoot along the road and head off past Clough Farm, onto Jaggers and up to Hope Cross.

The slabs round Man Tor are okay, but pretty boring g tbh

Thanks Martin, I don’t want to have to use the sliding hinge kit though. I want the appliance door to be fixed to the kitchen cupboard door (same as a dishwasher door front would be)

I’ve a set of hope pro2 hubs which I think i can get end caps to run as 12mm bolt thru

You can, as long as you have the correct axle

Local chap in Macclesfield (who is excellent by the way) charged £30 per wheel, Spokes were just over a quid each. Then there is the cost of the rims which I’d already purchased.

Yes, so long as it –

If they’ve not actually rebuilt your bike up, I’d just ask for it to be built back up with the parts it went in with, unless there is something specific required (new headset etc.. as you’ve mentioned). Or as ^^ nedrapier says “if they have binned them, rebuilt it and can’t return them or prove wear, you have a bit of haggle room”.

When I got my frame warrantied, the bike shop were very clear as to additional parts I needed such as new cables, invisi kit, a brake bleed (internal routing) and headset before it was rebuilt, which was an agreed cost. As was the £75 rebuild of my parts onto the new frame. I had asked for them to build it up with everything else off the old frame, even though I knew/they knew the drive chain, tyres and pads were worn.

Now just to figure out when I’m actually coming into contact with it to see what I have to try to get out of the habit of doing before I use the current damage to justify a nice new pair of shoes.

Descending left handers?? outside leg straight at 6 O’Clock, inside leg bent at 12 O’Clock and your foot twisted in a bit?

Never had Fox forks but really really cant see it being 15.9nm. That’s a lot for anything remotely delicate on a bike.

    MBR reckon 5-6nm

agree with others, for dive, try less tokens and more air

I’d start with no tokens and correctly set sag.
Adjust rebound and LSC to suit
Go for a ride and note how it feels
Then look at adding tokens or volume spacers

Is there actually play in the wheel?

No. The NDS bearing feels a little rough when not mounted but it feels like something has collapsed – its really audible under heavy load.

If anything has collapsed in the bearing it’ll be a lot more than feeling a little rough

The end caps should prevent over loading the bearings with pressure when doing up the axle, as the lip on the inside sits on the axle itself.

    Have you checked –
    BB
    Crank preload/installation
Chainring bolts or direct mount lock ring

though my concern is the cassette tool cogs aren’t engaged enough. Anybody have specific recommendations?

Remove end caps from axle to help engagement.

Some cassettes don’t have deep seating for the removal tool, prob only about 5mm, others seem to be full depth

100% the axle was the issue here. I found that once a bearing has shirt itself and the axle was marked/scored it was just a case f time before the next new shiny bearing went the same way.

Like BWD, I called hope and asked about bearing failure and longevity. After sending in all the bits I got back replacements.

If you can manage to remove the lower legs to carry out a lower leg service, then afaik all you’ll need are a pair of cir-clip pliers to remove the cir-clip at the bottom of the airshaft leg. That’s all I needed when I swapped internals between forks.

    1) Let out air and remove lowers
    2) Remove cir-clip from bottom of airshaft leg and *air side top cap
    3) Pull on lower section of airshaft to remove from leg
    4) Grease up new airshaft as per Sram instructions
    5) Insert new airshaft from the bottom
    6) Fit top cap, lower legs, oil to lube, add air
    7) Go ride or drink beer

*I also find removing the air side top cap helped as it seemed to create a vacuum, meaning the air shaft was quite hard to pull out
