    Ah, should’ve added I’m after 175mm

Ride does take DM and is 64gm heavier than the Aeffect, but both are listed as xc and trail. Only the Aeffect is listed as All Mountain, does it really matter? FTR I’m 85kg and happy with 6ft drops and the like

How do DeFeet Woolies size up?

Go large/size up. I find that even on cooler washes they tend to shrink a little

Check the inner is seated in the shifter correctly
Check outer cable ferrel are seated correctly on the outer and in the stop ends
Undo mech cable clamp, hold cable with one had pulling on cable and operste shifter with other had. You should feel cable pull and release with each click depending on which lever your pressing
Change both inner and outer if the shifter works OK after trying the above
If all else has failed, then as scary pants says, it could be a damaged internal part in the shifter, so you’ll need a new one

We’ve just had to have our cats other eye removed. Charlie had to have the 1st one taken out about 18 months ago as the Vitreous body had deteriorated and the lens had dropped forward (the VB is meant to hold the lens in place apparently)

He was fine with just the one eye and led a happy life, in and out all the time etc.. and had no issues at all. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and we noticed he was bumping into things and walking like he was drunk. Had a good look at him and noticed similar look to his (as was) good eye. Took him to the vet and basically its the same as the other eye, where the VB has deteriorated and the lens has dropped.

Booked him in to have it removed and he is now totally house bound. Even though he’s 18 yrs old, he’s adapted quite well but still bumps into things as he tends to follow our noise round the house. He goes up and down the stairs, knows where his food and litter tray are, always finds his comfy spot on the sofa etc..

Fingers crossed for you Robbo that its something that can be sorted easily enough

The only really muddy bit on the macc loop is the climb out of 3shires up to the farm. That field is dreadful!

That field is horrendous, so if you’re stood on 3 Shires bridge with the track up to the field you mention on your right. Go Left up the sandy track (the river will be down to your left). It can be quite a challenge as its quite loose and there are some decent sized baby heads. At the top go Right up the lane. At the main road go Right and the start of Cumberland Clough will be on your left not far after the layby.

Carlos. Did you used to ride with marpleriders years ago?

Nah, never ridden with or heard of them tbh.

I’m Macc based but tend to pop over that way quite often for night rides as its just the other side of Lyme Park. Easy access riding from the door, lots of options and a good Pub back in Bollington for a pit stop on the way home.

You can ride 25km ish and say 900m from The Leather Smithy and hardly leave Macc Forest with only repeating one section twice. No ones about at night so just get creative and utilise the proper footpaths through the forest. No point in heading onto the stuff in the trees as its just be a proper shite fest

Stuff round Marple, Roman Lakes, Drisley, Hayfield, Mellor all run ok. Nothing to techy at all but you can put together a 30km, 1000m ride easy enough, whist avoiding the worst of things

Half decent ride out from Derbyshire Bridge to Combs and back via The Goyt, drop into 3 Shires and out via Turn Edge a couple of lanes to get onto Cheeks Edge (prob the only soggy/boggy bit) before heading back to DB. Or start in Macc and link it to the above.

Yeah. Half way down towards Sadgill from Brockstones in The Lakes. Rode back to Ings with only a hoop of Backer Rod in the tyre.

It rode surprisingly well tbh and I wouldn’t say I pussy footed around.

Both tyre and insert survived, although the tyre needed a couple of mushrooms to plug the original holes

Your going to need someone to do something on the roof so may as well enquire about the cost of a tile vent.

Not a local or regular rider there, but I did ride a lot of The Mynd last Saturday. The Carding Mill carpark wasn’t that full at all and there was a bloke at the ticket shed taking money (£5 all day) and handing out a pass to display in the window. The cafe was open as were the toilets but no where near as busy as I’ve seen it on better, warmer and drier days.

Riding wise, it was soggy and draggy on the grass when climbing and a bit slippy slidey descending, there was a little snow still on the tops (prob gone by now though) but not enough to have you off pushing. Minton was muddy AF at the top, then after about 100m turned into a stream/river. The other stuff we rode were FP’s ;-) They were pretty much the same as Minton. Bit muddy, bit soggy, wet, etc..

ends in a huge grassy fast berm and possible crash into solid 5 bar gate?

Think that’s the official BW that descends to the campsite. last time I rode it, there was a big gully cut into it that switched sides and wound its way down. Now THAT was interesting at speed. Not hit the gate yet though

No idea, if I need or fancy it I just get it. Yes I look for a bargain/best price etc.. as prices can vary a lot.

But as above it’s 100% worth however much it is.

No idea how the buyer has paid.

Have you messaged them to ask?

Sold something on ebay last week and was paid almost straight away by buyer. Once notification had come through money was showing in PP account

I’ve not got the hooded version, but I’ve been using their Hummvee jkts for a couple of years without complaint. Just ordered another one from Wiggle

Yeah they might not be the best on the market, but they wear well, fit well, have 2x pit vents, chest and rear pockets, are warm with just a thin base layer due to the 2 layer construction(might be a bit warm for some) and are very good in the waterproof dept (as you’d want a waterproof jkt to be ;-))

Like a few people I pay on the grounds that I look at it a fair bit and would prefer to pay for something I use and enjoy to help it stay afloat.

This for the cost of a pint a month

What does the freehub look like, are all the splines chewed up?

    carlos
    Free Member

Looks like a standard Shimano fitment cassette, so..

    Is the lock ring tight
Have you had the cassette off and not fitted a spacer
Take off the cassette and check freehub (I bet it’s chewed up along the splines) so you’ll need a new one

Is the cassette knackered?? Maybe not, my money is on the freehub is though

If I can count it’s 12 so XD only I believe.

Nope, 12spd NX is splined/shimano fitment

Footpath will still be slippy in few places but yes, its generally better in that its less sloppy, easier. I rode it 2 weeks back and it was just rideable

I would be expecting a full refund (including original postage costs), and for the seller to pay/organise uplift for return.

This^^, and for the return collection to be at my convenience

Yes. In my opinion that gap between jockey and cassette is to close

Bottom jockeyvwheel doesnt look worn to me, it looks forked

Running gear could do with a good clean top

Add 1/2 turn of B screw to move mech away from cogs
    Bent/misaligned hanger
Incorrect adjustment of limit screws (are you sure the one not touching is the lower limit screw?)
Is the stop tab in tbe right place and the hanger installed correctly

A lad had his bike nicked about 800m away from our farm this afternoon.
16:30ish 3 lads pulled up in a Citreon C3 and held the lad up at knifepoint (he’s only 14) and had his Santa Cruz 5010 off him.
Scares me as my 12yr old has just started going out with a friend on little loops after school, he’s only on a modded Trek hardtail but I wouldn’t want him to go through something like that with a friend or alone!

Saw that on FB last night. Proper shit for the lad

Can’t see him getting it back but hopefully the car will be spotted somewhere/traced. It had a quite distinctive LED bar on the front apparently

Mrs. S spoke to the “operative” who said “it’s cos your bin’s too heavy love.”

Maybe he can point you to the councils website where it states max weights for the bins? I bet there isn’t one or any info on it

Oh and no issues here with them (Tweeks) either.

I found that the Madison long trousers I bought were a little low on the waist and tended to sag a bit. Bought some Oregon Black Logger braces from Screwfix for about £14.

They’re straps are nice and wide so don’t dig in the shoulders, 4x points of clipping or buttoning and have worked a treat.

Quits a few years back I had a mtb nicked.
    Claimed on Ins
    Got processed through Wheelies
Offered a VPP Intense as a replacement to a single pivot Heckler
Back to Ins and explained the replacement offered wasn’t like for like
Ins asked for a replacement build cost
LBS sorted that out and I submitted it to Ins
Week or so later and after 1 phone call, money was in my bank (full build cost)
Headed off to LBS and ordered another one

    They haven’t offered to pay

As above, just tell him its an additional X pounds for 1st class tracked postage as that wasn’t a service you offered and ask him to pay PP gift

Went for the Pro’s in the end. Mrs is mega chuffed and that’s all that matters really.

Original question was are they worth the extra ££. Still not sure tech wise tbh, but as Mrs is happy, what else is important.

I’d say its illegal based on Section 89.2 of the Police act 1996.

Summed up nicely here by Yak

It’s fine for the police to forewarn of their locations. It’s not fine for the public do to so. It’s nothing to do with whether the traffic slows or not. It’s whether the action of forewarning is affecting the police officers’ ability to undertake their duties.

Bit of a pita to trawl through, but maybe starting with a list of shops that take the vouchers and narrowing it down. Quite a few in the North West
