Cracking little pump that boats more punch than the size would suggest.

Fits nicely in a pack and suitable for the Roadie, Gravel bikes too

If your looking for an XC route how about.

Bradwell to Hope via the cement works. Edale Road, Fullwood Stile Lane, Hope Cross, Elm Pitts down to the reservoir. Turn right and follow the track to The Dam. Drop down the main road to Bamford and head up Hurst Clough, Bridleways to Coggers Lane, drop into Hathersage and head out up towards the railway station (but continue on the main road) turn right at The Plough Inn and pick up the track past Shatton Mast and finally take the left back into Bradwell.

Square Venu Sq user for the last couple of years.

I don’t really use it to record activities, but when you do it does run the battery down. (Maybe that’s what Geoff means)

Worn as a watch and to record daily steps, I probably charge it once every 10 days or so.

Thanks for that. So that’s another option(thumbs up)

Do you know if they allow leaving a car overnight ? As above its not to sleep in, just left there overnight

Ah, hopefully we’ll get there early enough to bag a free place.

I’ve seen on Google maps a “carpark £5” sign on the junction of the A592 and the lane to Hartsop, so that may also be an option (I’ll check overnight is ok 1st and not just park up, pay and wander off)

Park in Castleton, Up Broken Road, cut round Left over Windy Knoll and past Rowter Farm to do Cavedale, back up Broken Road, then pick your loop up.. blah blah blah, finish on The Roman Road back into Hope, head out to Pindale but keep Right and stick on the lanes back in to Castleton?

    Hey Dave.

I’ve got a genuine set of SC presses and ond remocal tool that I use on the Bronson V3 which you’re more than welcome to borrow.

I can’t remember off the top of my head the bearing codes, but I can check tomorrow if you want confirmation what they fit.

Road riding peed off mine. I think a combo of narrow bars, hunched over and no give at all between the road surface and me, so I went with MTB’ing along the canal and back on well surfaced and not to rough paths/tracks.

I think it was 6-8 weeks before I was back on the bike.

@IHN Green Bronson. Sometimes Thursday nights, sometimes at a weekend. We all hate that small rise in the road just past the stables. it’s like they used extra sticky/grippy tarmac just on that bit.

    I’ll keep an eye out

Well all the signs have disappeared/been removed now. (not by me)

Can’t help think that it’ll become a game of new signs put up, shortly followed by them being removed.

Ah, pretty much as I thought then.. someone with too much time on their hands. It certainly won’t stop me riding it that’s for sure, I just wondered if there’d been any conflict or incidents.

You can cut your own width requirements fron an old piece of inner tube. Just give it a good wash to get rid of the chalky internal dusting

Went to Boa Vista with TUI. Didn’t get robbed, and we walked the beach most days. We did loose a few kg though. I’m not sure if it was the food, heat, ice, or a combo. But it wasn’t pleasant and we weren’t the only ones. It seemed quite rife so defo check TA for reviews if you do go.

Positive points are it was hot, chilled, not too busy when we went, nice staff and good price.

Negative points are we were both ill (as were plenty of others), nothing to do without booking on trips, rooms are a bit dated, and the plane broke on the way home (however we did get £1k+ back as compo)

I’m trying to figure a way from Errwood back up to the Cat’nFiddle which isn’t on the road

Depends what you’ve descended but there are 2 options (both footpath mind).
    1) B4st4rd Zig Zags up Shooters Clough from near Errwood Hall Ruins
    2) B4st4rd Grass from carpark on Right just after the bridge. Climb obvious track and then onto grass up to join Shooters Clough then up along the wall past just East of Stake Farm to join track to Cat & Fiddle (makes a good descent by the way)

A decent route from Patterdale would be head along the BW on the East side of Ullswater and round to Sandwick, Pick up the BW at the side of the Church in Martindale and basically follow this all the way up to “The Cockpit”. Double back Right and head South up the course of the Roman Road to Loadpot Hill and onto The Knott. Keep going to get to get to the High Street Monument. Enjoy the views etc.. then turn round and head North back to The Knott. Turn Left and follow BW all the way back into Hartsop. Or for a cheeky option, fork right off The Knott to Hartsop descent and head over past Angle Tarn and Boredale Hause on the FP to finish back in Patterdale.

There will prob be a couple of push bits round to Sandwick but most of the BW is rideable, maybe more so on an Eeeb

I was thinking of borrowing one of those hand held drill/chopper things like a mini pneumatic drill

If you have the option to borrow a core drill with a clutch and a 102mm bit, defo 100% do. So much easier, hardly any mess, cut through both inner and outer brick/block work at the same time and leaves a neat finish to both brick/block faces

You could prob hire all the kit for a day for not much more than £35

Yeah that’s one option but depends if the workshop is open/booked up.

    They’re 1st call tomorrow 🤞

I’d guess at a 3mm or 4mm crab claw circlip, but any correct sized external clip will be fine.

    4. Hold entire loaf in one hand and eat it with teeth while using other hand for intermittently spreading/prepping loaf with butter ready for the next bite.

    Not just me then

    – Carlos, does the rear of yours have any mounting hardware or is it just the bearings? Hopefully I can just return one of the mounting kit’s I’ve ordered if so.

Its 2x bearings, 1x small tube and 2x dust covers. The same as in the 1st link up there^^ so just the bearings and no mounting hardware as such

Rode Cavedale today and although I didnt stop, I did think as I rode through that at the 2nd narrow bit ( the one just before it opens out and bears right) there seemed to be a large amount of un natural 30mm ish clean limestone.

It only registered as the rest of Cavedale is 75mm plus or larger sized loose stuff.

Anyone else noticed this? Is this a stealth “we’ll put some material down and see of anyone notices, then just keep adding a bit here and there” BS by DCC or am I just getting paranoid based on DEC’S previous. Or has it always been like that and I’ve only just noticed it today?

An alternative start could be Disley. Head up Green Lane, over to Diglee farm, into Furness Vale (it’d be rude not to try the steps of death onto the canal as you’re passing ;-)) Up Ladypit Road and onto Laneside Road, New allotments, then either Peep O Day or Far Phoside, top of the campsite descent, Coldwell Clough, Jacobs and train back from Edale. If you’re hungry for more from Edale head up to Hollins Cross, Round Mam Tor, Cavedale into Castleton and along the road to Hope station, or Holins Cross, Back Tor Farm, Jaggers and finish on the Roman Road into Hope.

Obviously you can trim Hope off if you want to head back from Edale

Rode Parkamoor and Walna Scar on Sat. As you cut from Grizedale to the Parkamoor descent, there are a few trees down, and you have to take an unmarked diversion, which is easy enough to navigate, but a bit of a pita.
The woods after the steep road and before Stephenson Ground are shot. The bridge is out, but you can cross the Brook with care. Forget about trying g the sweet singletrack though. Best to stay on tbe fire road and detour round, as lots of trees down.
As for Walna Scar itself, the top bit is getting washed out and is a giggle. Bottom half to the carpark is just quick flat corners.
I can’t see the attraction of riding up from Coniston, but each to thier own

Might be worth a call to Hope themselves to ask who/where is the nearest Oz stockist to you.

If I had any new ones in the spares box, I’d fire them out to you.

    Thanks for the replies.

I’m not interested in a gas or diesel option, it has to be electric.

I thought about a blow fan heater but can’t leave them on like you can with the green house heater or oil filled rads and they do not have a thermostat.

I’m thinking the oil filled radiator is the way to go

It freezes or I get a message saying it has frozen and I can either ‘wait’ or ‘exit the page’

I’ve assumed it’s related to the adverts – mainly because when I get the message pop up the page hasn’t loaded all the adverts, there are large blank areas of the page??

    Same

I’ve installed the loft legs at a friends house. Can’t remember where he got them from but easy to install and adds minimal weight to the loft area.

Make sure that the 1st couple of boards are laid square and you’re away. If you’re worried they’ll be shakey/wobbly. They won’t be, but you can fit a small L bracket to a wall, roof spar, purlin etc.. if you want to. He used the large T&G chipboard flooring sheets and getting them in the loft was the biggest PITA

Is it limited to a 42t rear cassette ?

According to Sram both rear mechs have a max tooth capacity of 42 and yes, I’m running a 10/42 cassette

Well yeah, there’s the whole of the Peak District but ya kinda gotta rotate around otherwise you see all the same stuff. My mate comes from Boston so add another 1+ hours into his journey.

Okay I get your point, maybe it’s because I’m local, but I don’t see the value in riding there against a 2hour plus drive.

I rode there the other Wednesday night, 15 mins from the front door and didn’t get past The Stanley Arms. I clocked up 37km, with 1200m of elevation and only briefly touched on the “Classic Macc Forest Loop”, I didn’t even session anything off Nessit. Everything was running sweet, it was pretty quiet in the Forest, in a few places it was hard to recall where the original trails went due to the felling and number of new trails built. But, you’d not get away with riding 99% of the route at a weekend that’s for sure as it’s too busy with walkers etc…

    carlos

Takes me a couple of hours drive

Surely you must be passing through better areas to ride than Macc Forest if you’re travelling a couple of hours???

Yeah, its a decent loop and there are loads of options in the trees or just over in the Goyt etc.. but as a local I can’t see the attraction of driving a couple of hours to ride here

I looked for ages on FB marketplace etc.. looking for a decent sized piece of worktop. No one was giving it away or at a cost that was worth while compromising on size for. So I decided to bite the bullet and bought a full length worktop from B&Q. Should’ve been £38 but it had a chip out of the corner so I asked about knocking something off as it was damaged. They knocked it down to £25 and now its fitted you can’t see the damage anyway.

Supported it on a full length baton along the back wall and one end with cheapest and straightest 2×1 they had. Legs were courtesy of 2x lengths 3×3 that I had in the shed anyway, fixed top and bottom with a couple of L brackets.

I think the lot was just over £30
