As for dropper posts and boost hubs I made sure to go with a bike that already had them. Granted the dropper post is bottom of the range but it give me a chance to get used to it before I upgrade.

I’ve always had flat pedals as I really don’t get on with clips. 10 years ago i used to just ride DMR V8’s or V12’s (which to my amazement are still around!) but i’m just wondering it there’s something better out there no i have more money to play with (That’s not a boast, i’m just not a skint teenager anymore).

As for upgrades i’ve been looking at things that’ll add a bit of personality to the all black bike but also made some difference:
    Stem: Nukeproof Horizon
    Grips: Nukeproof Horizon
Pedals: (you guessed it) Nukeproof horizon Sam Hill model
    And possibly some hope brakes.

Black and Silver looks a bit too Halfords to me, I’d go for black and gold.

I like to travel light and ride in dodgy areas where theres always a risk of your bag being pinched if you put it down so usually just:

    – Allen key set
    – box spanner
    – 2 maybe 3 bottles of water/lucozade
    – Medical tape
    – Victorinox mini penknife (scissors, knife and…nail file?)
    – Spare inner tube
    – Tyre levers
    – Chocolate or something else high in sugar incase i break a leg and need to take my mind off it.

Hm, just looked at that and just to be awkward it looks like they only do the 32t in black or silver, otherwise it’s 31 or 33 if i want blue.
    Thanks for your help though.

It’s quite amusing to watch though as they jam their foot in the back wheel to brake.
They have actually created a solution for a problem that should never have existed.

Specialized as a brand started going downhill with their bike design in about 09 late 08.
I have a specialized P2, they made one more nice P2 in 09 and then the 2010 and 2011 P bikes just look like that kid thats so ugly you make him live in the attic and feed on fish heads.
As for the full sus. even in 08 they were showing signs of uglyness.
The argument is that its all for practicality…but i’m sure it can be a good bike and pretty at the same time.

Also, if you want to be put off cycling of any sorts for the rest of your life feel free to google the P24.

What the Derby City Council’s facination with putting all of the bike tracks in rough areas is i’ll never know :S

I’ll check out the chad track just so i know what it’s like.
Also, i have a week off work to check all of these out :D
So i’ll have to check out the moorways track and post back on what it’s like.

I’m assuming you’re a derby local too then?

When you say the bridleway where abouts do you mean?

Also, my local is the Alvaston bmx track, while i’ve been there i’ve heard talk of something in chad, is it worth the ride to get there?
I’m also guessing with it being chad i’d have to go up there with a good sized group so the bikes don’t get stolen.

I was up Aston on Trent on sat, some kids (i say kids, they were about 17 or 18 so yoofs) have built some jumps in the woods, it’s a nice idea but i think they need some experienced riders/Jumpers to show them where it can be improved, alot of them jumps have quite implausable run ups and it’s very bumpy so you loose so much speed.

Also, orena45 I ride a specialized P2, so even though i loved downhill runs on my old bike i think it’d break my back now :(
