I used a set of the original mallets on my SS , then would swap them to the big bike for gravity stuff, they worked fine.. You do get good at taking them apart every month for a re-grease or fettle but otherwise good pedals.

Transco will install it up to and including your new meter… Then your new local Gas safe heating engineer for the rest.
Cost wise not sure depends on time and materials etc.. but get a few quotes… It’s a good opportunity to get the right size gas pipe work in the property as new boilers need a good supply , we often have to upsize pipe work when fitting new A rated boilers.

ahh right so the CCDB will make the bike slacker (sit lower) anyway with standard bushes compared to the air shock ?…

    Hi Earl..
If the pressure is between 1&1.5 bar and you still have the issue of slow warm up then I’d be tempted to call a heating engineer mate.. Unless the system has a lot of air in it , which bleeding should get rid of, you might have another problem.

It sounds like LS-X which if applied properly will seal a joint but its a bodge TBH.

Jumped ship from a distribution company for vehicle diagnostics as I was sooooooo bored and after 5 years without a payrise whilst having my nose rubbed in it by the bosses new motors and posh holidays etc.. Went back onto the tools, after a large gap of 20 ish years, now working as a heating engineer (plumber) and 90% enjoying it.. It is tough/physical and challenging but very varied and not perfect but nothing is. On the whole a good move.

3 trips to the Alps and 1 to Molini on my 5 with 140 forks and it was more than capable, just planning next years now… 🙂
    Sensible mods IMO to help with the gravity over time have been;
Off set bushes for the rear shock (Burgtec) probably the best value for money upgrade on a 5 you could wish for.
Volume spacer for the rear airshock for my weight, talk to LOCO
    Beefy tubeless rims (ZTR Flows)
    Shorter stem (60mm)
    Bigger rotors
    Dropper post.

    Hang on and enjoy.

I used to work in an office and miss the ability to start chemical warfare with the miserable sods who would tut and start spraying fabreeze about… Even locked my mate in his office with a silent but deadly nose stinger a few times just to liven the day up… It relieved the boredom.

Love tubeless, have run mine with ZTR rims and jollop for 2 years and they have been great and reliable on both bikes… Don’t really love standing around /helping fellow non tubeless riders who don’t get the tubeless thing whilst they mend another bloomin puncture…(Think Charlies singlespeed outing this year during the Gravel dash) With the right wheels and tyres its a doddle to do.

There is a good bike shop in Buckingham and I believe you can ride off road around Stowe landscape gardens and the surrounding area… I used to commute to Buckingham from the Chilterns it’s a 50+ min journey. Might be worth getting in touch with Paul at Solstice Cycles and see of they are running an off road club I know they were talking about it…

Glastonbury of old, before they decided that the traps were a bit un-hygenic, you would be greeted with the site of a model version of the pyramid stage in/on the pan and no chance of getting to flush it…or go anywhere near it to be honest.

As an apprentice in a large engineering company some of my fellow pipe fighters were quite adept at leaving hooooge logs for the poor cleaners or next visitor to have to deal with…

It sounded rubbish anyway and I didn’t really spend 27 minutes trying to get tickets honest… and it’s gonna rain and everyone will get cow ebola but i hope its a good experience with naked dancing and stuff in the magic circle… 😉

Very inspiring thread… after some umming and ahhing I have just pushed the button on a set of these with the uno spider. 8) can’t wait to see them on my bike now… Went for a Silver set as I did wonder about the rubbing of shoes on the black arms as mentioned above…

Middleburn cranks for the SS , no real need just have always liked them and it’s time!
+1 for the Brooks Cambium one of the best pointless upgrades I have made IMO.

Sounds like the regulator isn’t delivering the correct pressure into the property. Get it checked by a Gas safe engineer you should have 21mbar +\- 2mbar if it is below this the that would give the symptoms you describe. Only Transco can fit a new regulator BTW.

Weather depending… You should get anywhere between 10 & 12 runs in. They run 4 uplift buses when they are busy and the wait is no more than 10 mins…. They stop for lunch at 1pm from memory for an hour.

Tiny little wheels, 2×9, piddly little 140 forks and a skinny seat tube.. My blue filing cabinet has clocked up over 500 miles this year, was my more than capable steed around Molini and I love it just as much as I did 4 years ago when I bought it.

My old (despised) boss had a 56 plate Navara and my how we laughed when he rang to say the half shaft had parted company with him on the motorway… thankfully no innocent on comers or other road users were mangled or mashed by a bouncing wheel and axle on the M1… Nissan didn’t laugh either as they quickly disposed of the vehicle from the yard holding the truck and it was never seen again, sadly with all the boss’s CDs, shoes and other guff he used to keep for his amusement on the motorway inc. a diesel boost kit that the insurance company spotted and they had a good laugh at his attempts to threaten court action and other trouser-less threats of hot air…. Still must have scared the poop out of him 😯 ..
Like that Navara in White all the same.
