It does look that way…. she’s probably laughing about the smell.

Or bollocking the mechanic for putting her back wheel on the wrong way round 😀

Unique event in terms of distance and nice not to be constantly going round in circles. The challenge is mental as well as physical and keeping concentration is essential especially if conditions are like last year when it was raining at you from all directions and puddles were rather deep. Very tough and the chances of finishing aren’t brill but like me if you fancy the challenge and have unfinished business with Kielder then have a go, will see you there amongst the other 800+ riders. 🙂

Never looked back since converting both my bikes to doubles up front.
One is 2×9 the other is 2×10 both work really well in most environments of MTB with 22/36 chain rings and 11-34 on the back. Try it and if you don’t like it just convert it back to a triple.

Nothing but good experiences with the STW folk for buying and selling. I built my current bike using 80% used parts. Good communication /updates on progress when stuff is sent and received all helps.

I posted a rim out using the post office…. no problems at all , just made sure it was well insulated from being chucked about. Cheapest was £4.50 2nd class parcel.. The guy got it within 3 days.. Everyone happy.

Re cardos pic…. Never mind the bars, what happened to the rest of the bike?

The rest of the bike and rider got away with just minor scratches , nothing bent or broken… staggering really considering…. Just reading through some of the responses yes those bars were re-called by the manufacturer as they had a tiny fraction break so offered everyone who had bought them their money back… why this guy didn’t is unknown TBH.

We fixed them with a stick and a piece of threaded rod (emergency pedal replacement) and duct tape.. he managed to get back to the pub and get a round in.. we also suggested he buy a lottery ticket!

He was lucky really and came off lightly after a quick tumble followed by the bike doing a few cartwheels… but scary all the same !!!! it’s failed right next to the shifter too! 😯

+1 for the shed shackle… fitted one last year with one if their massive HD chains and locks. they would literally have to smash the side of the shed out and make lots of noise, to remove the bike.

Also put a carriage bolt or two on each hinge so they can’t be undone from the out side.

It’s either the chain or the cables.. or a mixture of both… have you got another chain to try on it?… you have my sympathy too, stuff like this is annoying…

That’s exactly right….. Don’t ignore the light for too long because the DPF will block and your car will conk out. The fluid used to fill the tank is not very nice to get on your skin, so pleased be careful if you decide to do this yourself.

For similar money you can buy Merrell or Salomon sports hybrid trainers which are Gore Tex lined… I’ve used mine in all weathers never had wet feet, (apart from Kielder.)The only reason they are due for replacement is the sole has finally given up to the pins on the pedals after 2 years of abuse.

I had this on my Fox RP23 too, tried self servicing it, but made no difference, so sent it back to Mojo and it’s been right as rain ever since… Mine only did it with the Pro pedal on tho’

Sorry can’t help with Suntour servicing places, try Mojo first they might know who does.

I use both FS and hardtail… the hardtail is a long travel steel frame and it is raw, but works very well and is rather light.. but would never get rid of the FS as it’s comfy and goes downhill very well.. something you appreciate when riding a HT for a while! 🙂
