The Bell tower is worth a look
We did a trip from Perth down the river to Freemantle which was good
Watch the sunset in Kings Park. it goes dark quite early over there.
Cottesloe has a nice feel about it and will make you want to emigrate.
If you want to go to Rotnest and see the Quokkas then book and you can cycle around the island too.

+1 for Bender fender on the front and Crud Guards front/down tube and back the difference between those who use guards and those who don’t when we get to the pub is incredible, it looks like we’ve been on different rides.. 😀

It just isn’t an issue… It’s a healthy hobby which so long as I don’t fill all the rooms in the house with bikes and bike paraphernalia and keep it to the man cave.. not a problem.. sorry OP you need to man up a bit mate. plus there are worse things you could be spending your hard earned on , like drugs, prostitutes and gambling…. although I’d not use that as the opening line in any bargaining plea!!!! 😀

Just reminiscing …. the trip we did to the Blue Mountains included lunch and a visit to a zoo on the outskirts of Sydney where you could make a fuss of a Koala and have your pic taken etc… then it detoured back via the Sydney Olympic site and ended with a 1 hour boat trip back to the harbour going under the Bridge.. was a great day out. well worth it..

Also they do Harley tours of the city , which looked fun but not too sure if suitable for a 9 year old TBH

    +1 for the Aquarium too.

The Rusty Nail or the Westfield tower I think it’s called now, they have the skydeck which has amazing views over the whole of Sydney…

The Bridge climb over the harbour, might need to check age limits etc.. but an amazing experience.

    Taronga Zoo

Blue Mountains tour which will fill a day but leave the evening free.

To suggest a few… lucky sod wish we were back out there.

Good point Mk.2 for me please but I have always had a soft spot for them.. Is that an 8v or a 16V?

I tried rigid carbon forks and have to admit for Autumn/Winter riding and climbing they were brill, very light, precise and taught me to pick a line more carefully. Descending down anything that required speed and was bumpy was bloomin’ awful and caused blurry vision and I was bordering on the edge of control, now that bit I didn’t like. So a nice set of 100mm bouncers have been put back on and life is good again… Try them John you might actually like them mate…

Tricky one this, I’m sceptical too and really want to be proved that it is worth while doing, I re-invested an old defunct company and private pension into a personal pension a few years back and although it costs me a fair amount in contributions every month it is making money (slowly), and you get tax relief on your contributions at 20%…. It’s a gamble but no investments are super safe and savings accounts aren’t doing anything that good either… crystal ball anyone?

As some have already said with a well serviced and properly operating rear shock such as the RP23 with Pro Pedal, bobbing is almost negated when climbing. Just remember to flick the switch and enjoy the descents 😀

What John Nellison said 🙂 all the hubs we have had issues with in our local MTB club have been with cup and cone, yes due to lack of fiddling around with cone spanners and re-greasing when we are spending our time riding bikes and drinking beers. Sorry it’s old tech and cartridge bearings are simple to replace and cheap too.

I wash mine off when cleaning the bike… get the worst of the mud off, let them dry over a radiator or in the airing cupboard then brush pretty vigorously under the straps and round the cleats with a brush. Seems to work pretty well.

In the words of my boss .. “we own the company , we can do what we like”

I would get some advice from an official source try the government sites on company car rules laws etc.. I know they are trying to cut down on emissions from company car use and hence are lowering the C02 ouputs accordingly.

Both will work no probs, personally the medium cage looks neater and is more discreet so less chance of catching it on rocks, ramblers, Audis etc… 😉

Try swapping the bolts (including the piece that slides through the bush) over front for back. They are slightly different lengths, regarding how tight to do them up you shouldn’t need to be swinging on the allen key for any bike part to be honest.. a good squeeze is enough.

You’ll be amazed what you can do on a Singlespeed Rich… Have been riding one of these for a while and it improves leg strength and upper body too, no sign of knee issues at all, lovin’ the bars too thanks.

If it’s a massive issue get a steel one as said above…all of my Alu ones have done this and I’ve just carefully filed down the burrs and re-fitted/ replaced the cassette… but on the plus side they are very light.

Have tried this old fangled new recipe in the last 6 months and love Singlespeeding for it’s simplicity and big wheels for rolling blah blah blah.. but rigid forks have now been replaced with a set of Fox’s bouncing plushness… I honestly found with rigids all the lovely carried speed was pretty F’in horrible when descending downhill and had a few close ‘uns. So made the switch back to bouncers and love riding my bike more for it….
    Just my two pence worth.

For the Kielder this year lots of people on forums etc recommended Clarkes pads , same as you I’d never of really considered them but they have been brill.. these are the sintered ones mind you… Hope brakes are superb they just need to be set up properly.

Never had an issue with Hope skewers in all sorts of conditions and on different bikes… you do need to occasionally lube the cam on them tho’ with a bit of dry lube, this helps them to shut nice and tight.

Because at this time of year they live in the house…(mainly because the shed door swells up with the damp and won’t shut.. great excuse eh?)

    Hose the worst off
    Hot soapy wash
    Rinse
    Chamois dry
Dry the chain and re-lube the day after.

In for tea and toast (that’s me not the bike)
Start to finish takes about 10 minutes for the SS.

I have a Lifeproof for my 4S which is brilliant… I assume they are of the same standard for the 5…. Would honestly get one of these again, phone has been dropped and got rather wet and hasn’t missed a beat.
