My mate manages Foxes & Powell & some new act that everybody is fighting over called girli, he swears by it & it has radio stations very very frightened.
The music industry is putting everything on spotify the minute it’s played on air so in effect you can then go to any radio station playlist then find all the tracks on spotify & create your own upfront playlist but without the dj.carbonfiendFree Member@DaveRambo Ted looks ace here Jake totally untrainable when it comes any sort of critter hunting :-)
carbonfiendFree Member, it wont seek to destroy rabbits and other critters
Surely rules out greyhound & whippet sound like you want a terrier but not a terrier so I would suggest a Staffy.
carbonfiendFree MemberLegal guardian of my 8 year niece. Her mum (my sister) & her biological dad both alcohol/crack fiends. She calls me dad & the wife mum it’s been hard to say the least not only because it involves my family who TBH aren’t the most ‘functional’. Her M&D have no contact as the court order doesn’t stipulate we have to facilitate any on account of the violence & danger they both exposed her to (gangsters tried to kill her dad) & neither of them can get their shit together anyway.
The biggest issue has been emotional connection as it’s relatively easy to do the right thing but that doesn’t automatically translate into having genuine feelings for somebody especially as zero contact with my sister for nearly 20 yrs & never met the father.carbonfiendFree Member*adds absolutely nothing of value to this read apart from saying* there’s shitloads of em round ere in High Wycombe
carbonfiendFree MemberAnybody remember Steve Mcmanaman & Robbie Fowlers race horses named “a horse’ & ‘another horse’ :D
carbonfiendFree MemberMTB would be good but could lead to an eternal ‘what tyres’ dilemma
carbonfiendFree MemberA lot of bits to go wrong with that, would be any good if you were chased into some woods whilst out looking for food ?
carbonfiendFree MemberFatal flaw with those bikes are we all know zombies can only be killed by decapitation or smashing heads in thus rendering all but the axe on those bike useless as the chainsaws look attached
carbonfiendFree MemberBragging rights ; I was in the the studio doing a Remix with skip McDonald (on u sound/sugar hill gang/wood brass & steel) on his Little Axe project when Bernie Worrell walked in ! They then both proceeded to jam & sing together needless to say I was **** speechless.
Anecdote for P Funk fans, Skip McDonald told me that Bootsy Clinton etc used to get 40 oz glass jars & fill them with every substance & drink they could muster at the time mix it all up & down in one !!!
carbonfiendFree MemberHad a mate who’s dog was called shitdink
Some serious suggestions though;
Vlad
Uncle Rico
MohammedcarbonfiendFree Memberallow then all to turn to a life purely of petty crime
Think you will find they’re already there.
carbonfiendFree MemberSaplings & tree branches at head height, bushes & trail brambles half way down descents & barbed wire & broken glass on singletrack
carbonfiendFree MemberReading through the consultation paper it doesn’t mention stoping riding as far as I can see. it talks about management which TBH I think would be a good thing. Me & my mate over the yrs spent hours in the forest maintaining trails & saving ones that were about to be lost where the Rangers & Col had no interest. The problem with Epping is the clay base which means it drains terribly, there are trails & areas Eg Bury Wood that are desperate for some sort of management to keep the trails alive & rideable. We spoke to rangers & CoL numerous times but the idea was always to leave the forest as it is ( fallen tress drainage etc) & try to interfere as little as possible. This is a great idea from a preservation of all things natural & was in part what makes Epping so special but a little help here & there could go a long way to making it even better.
carbonfiendFree Memberthe other section where they could talk about ‘jumps etc’ is further along high beech heading towards Epping, the fast descent that kinda runs parallel to claypit hill ?
carbonfiendFree MemberThis has been going on for that last 5 years in Epping since the growth in use of the forest. The jump area I would guess they are talking about are Pole Hill & Loughton Camp. These two area are from my experience not used by MTB riders but kids on jump bikes particularly Loughton Camp.
The quote about going off the trail I suspect is in relation to riding round the mud holes, this has always been a point of issue even involving other MTB riders some of who ride through a mud hole & others who ride round it creating a bigger hole.
Night riding I am lost as to what they are on about as I rode for yrs at night in the forest & hardly came across any other riders ??
I don’t live in the area any more so don’t ride there but I would suggest a counter argument to any restrictions in riding the forest would be ask the rangers to make it safe & actually care about MTB users as I & a very good friend over the yrs have come across & reported countless acts of blatant & dangerous trail sabotage with absolutely zero interest from the rangers in dealing with this.

carbonfiendFree MemberIs the face on the wall still up there ? I used to live on George’s Lane (last bungalow) & grew up in Horwich/ Blackrod. There used to be a face carved into one of the headers on top of a dry stone wall. We used to go there as kids after a few blasts on ‘natures finest’ & freak ourselves out.
carbonfiendFree MemberWas at the 2004 Mercury Music Awards in 2004 with a UK rapper called Ty, AW was one of the nominations for the ‘Frank’ LP , she disappeared into the toilets holding hands (and other things) with a really hot looking female friend & didn’t come out for about half an hour 8O :P :D
carbonfiendFree MemberPersonally rather have Alice & the others mentioned all day tbh. What AM did though from a global perspective was seminal & she created a new image & sound. Nobody (except maybe Jamiroquai) from the Ronnie Scott/ Jazz Cafe/Blue Note scene ever did what she did, that from a cultural perspective regardless of the music has to be admired.
carbonfiendFree MemberI was involved in the promo of Amy Winehouse. There was nothing like her before & you can talk what you want of artists going back decades (Minnie Ripperton etc etc) but from a mainstream perspective she created something brand new and that is such a hard thing to do. Mainstream success is dominated by Radio 1 & to bring a new artist with a new sound & convince them to playlist it is very very hard especially if there is no template for them to follow or a very old one (jazz). In a nutshell she/management recruited Mark Ronson & Salaam Remi give her a sound that could cross over and the rest is history.
BTW Alice Russell is miles away from Amy Winehouse, she is artist far more on the fringe of mainstream, the nearest you could say to AW is maybe Jill Scott/Alica Keys.
carbonfiendFree MemberFor the sake of a balanced discussion, boots for the road no frickin way :-) An evil necessity for winter MTB but the bulkiness & lack of movement in the ankle is horrible. I use Grip Grab hammerhead over shoes, coated neoprene waterproof (seriously) & they have a shark logo on the side !
carbonfiendFree MemberI would never get rescue dog with kids. Get a puppy bring it up in the environment & the people it’s gonna live with. Outdoors a lot, got kids like to run. Springer or a working terrier (border patterdale parsons etc). Two dogs equals twice the shit to clean up twice the vets bills. Staffs great dogs & very friendly but certainly not in the breed to run & be outdoors, staffs are pit bulls.
carbonfiendFree Member67% of the kids that go to private school in Bucks go on to grammar school. Parents are starting tutoring children for grammar school in year 2 where I live & bear in mind tutor costs approx average are £40 an hour, go figure. The irony in all of it is if you speak to lots of parents they don’t actually believe in the system but because it exists they feel an overwhelming pressure to take part in it.
carbonfiendFree MemberWe live in Bucks we’ve withdrawn our son from the grammar school exam & we are the only parents to have done it in his school & you wouldn’t believe the brouhaha it has caused.
carbonfiendFree MemberJust a story to highlight how different people think of this. I had a music PR company and at one point employed 8 people, all young ‘types’ who got themselves around the club scene etc etc. one of them was a figure head on the dub step/Grime scene. He was generally a liberal & level headed guy (well read Hitchens/Fry/Chomsky). A rapper friend of his was charged & convicted of serious sexual assault & under age sex with a girl that had got into a VIP area to mix with the bods there. She was drunk and said rapper took ‘advantage’ of her. This guy who worked for me couldn’t & wouldn’t see what his mate had done wrong (he knew she was underage) he and others were convinced it was ALL the girls fault and she shouldn’t have entered the VIP lounge if she didn’t know what was gonna happen to her. I eventually sacked him :-)
carbonfiendFree MemberHell yeah after a complete disaster of a yr racing or non racing brought on by illness (viral infection/CNS fatigue) had to take it right back to basics. No strava no garmin sometimes just a pair of sweat shorts & T shirt ride where ever I want as fast or slow as I want with absolutely no agenda. Gotta say done me world of good (as well as rest & clearing illness) put a completely fresh perspective on everything. Back to fun
carbonfiendFree MemberBest film I seen recently that is instantly memorable & looks like nothing you seen before is Snowpiercer. It’s hard to track down but if you are a sci fi fan then it’s a must IMHO
carbonfiendFree MemberWatched it last night very impressed, is it just me or is it shot & edited completely different to TWD seems far more cinematic ?
carbonfiendFree MemberIt’s been working ok since I started this thread  I have noticed that a fair degree of patience is required though and letting it do ‘it’s thing’ at its own pace works best. Now just learning how to film & edit
carbonfiendFree MemberGot 4 kids (13/10/8/7) decided to stop at 2 but a third came along :oops:and then the 4th is my niece who I am legal guardian to as she was removed from her mum (drugs & alcohol). Relationship with wife is great tbh but relationship with ‘life’ can be strained at times. There can be an underlying grumpiness about me unless I am on a bike or running as my kids take no prisoners. In all honesty I have found the hardest thing is striking a balance between time for yourself, time for you & wife then the kids on their own then as a family and endlessly trying to do the right thing so I usually give up and make it up as I go along :-)
carbonfiendFree MemberIt just got better & better for me last series was amazing – Rick Grimes wow. I am stating the obvious when I say you have to suspend belief quite a bit of belief with the series (do babies turn into zombies, carls acting & Daryl’s haircut) but IMO the further the series has gone on the less it has anything to do with zombies & more & more about how people cope & survive with the complete break down of the world as they knew it.
Looking forward the watching FTWD :-) but currently just coming the end of watching Hannibal.
