[edit] My G1 that I thought was dead has come back to to life, done a hard reset new battery new cover new O ring & it paired up immediately. Firmware up to date & calibration all good, let’s see how long it lasts :-/ ??

I’ve just started using my G2 ultegra outside as my other G1 seems to have died (it is over 2yrs old & never had a problem with it). I have been using G2 indoors for a few months and they do seem like a different beast to G1’s . If I go anywhere near a G2 with my Garmin turned on it picks it up immediately & it seems to switch itself off if I don’t start peddling within about 5 mins, this never ever happened with a G1. The battery door on a G2 is completely different the battery fits into the cover first as opposed to the unit which is what u did with G1’s.

Trying a hard reset in my G1 to see if I can get some life back in it.

An FTP test is just an indication or marker is not a real time figure. As @TiRed said power profile & mean maximum is where it counts as these are numbers from actual riding or racing. You can have a lower FTP W/kg than the next man but the one who is better trained at holding those numbers will always be king.

Personally not factoring in all the other stuff you mention I only been able to do 1 x 24 solo a year. They take too much out of me physical & logistical but I am edging toward 49 with 4 kids :-0

If you can do them then go for it I would.

I had the privilege of doing an edit with Rob Playford in the movin shadow studios, it’s was on a Flytronix tune that we were trying to get on radio so needed to 3mins approx in length (it didn’t work so was binned) did same thing with Shy FX as well & some Ram stuff for Andy C. BTW I used to be a radio plugger so a lot of those guys would bring me tunes they had to see if they could crossover onto R1. Did work for Peshay Photek J Majik Pendulum DJ Fresh Marky Adam F Etc in fact probably not many from that era I didn’t work it. Never worked with Goldie though but did Kemi & Storm

Can’t recommend reading Jason Burke enough if you are inserted in the history of political & radical Islam (Muslim brotherhood) etc. Al Qaeda the true story of radical Islam is a fantastic read.

The Miners, the steelworkers and quite a few more highly organised and trades unionised industrys got huge concessions from the conservatives, so they changed the laws and rules, ended flying picketing, and sequestrated union funds, then got the police to enforce what we now see as illegal actions fueled by the media to denegrate unionised workers.

So have we seen the end of days for the sort of strike action we witnessed in the 70/80’s

This – combined with low union membership – means few people will strike and then there is no impact to cause a government to change tack.

This is what caused me to ask the original question as I couldn’t hep thinking the JD’s are on a hiding to nothing ?

Just had read about what Bob Crow did couldn’t actually find a strike story as such but amazingly he got tube drivers pay to 52k a year 8O

Yes of course Poll tax. Not exactly a strike but that was the answer I was looking for, I knew there must be something somewhere.

    Sorry I meant hunger strikers.

What i am trying to work out is when it comes head to head has a union ever brought a Tory government to back down or concede ?

Malvo was great no doubt he had the dialogue too & was more crafty with it., but you could actually be in Malvo’s company & get away it it, Dodd is a paranoid agressive full on loon that you couldn’t even be in the same room with at any time, Dodd is thick as **** too

That scene were detective visits Ed & Peggy tell the anecdote about injured soldiers & lies – genius. As for a psychopath Dodd Gerhardt is about as bad as it gets IMO.
Mike Milligan plus that conversation between him & detective in typewriter shop :-)

Yeah love it though agree with @tthew about the humour & pace at first but as the series progresses each episode seems to crank it up but exactly the right amount & the last one was sheer brilliance. The attention to detail is jaw dropping at times.

Got PKs by the truck load already from CB break which at TBH why I am slightly worried this time (tramadol & diclofenac) as they don’t seem to help. The pain is worse that fracture at times.

As above, really suggest get your coaching badges. My eldest lad has been playing league football for 4yrs now currently in u14s. From my experience all the kids who take the football serious want to win & I have never come across any bad parents in fact the worse behaviour I have seen is from a coach. I would really suggest doing it, I love football & kids football is ace I have seen some amazing goals amazing comebacks & amazing capitulations.

The best teams I have seen playing are when the coaches/mangers have done the badges, good luck.

My new one is currently useless anyway unless I find the pedal I took off the warranty one, which you would have thought is kept in a safe place… like the bike/tool box where all the bike stuff goes :( :?

I have had 2000watts from the XTR which at first I put down to pedal strike then I rethought it & realised no, the power meter doesn’t lie :-)

Reliability issues yeah dubious data ??? Said this a million times I had pretty much unlimited access to SRAM lab at one time all the data from that (4+tests) correlated exactly with my stages & as my fitness changed across the season all lab tests & real time use was the same.

Had to warranty my ultegra stages got new one this morning of the new type. The battery cover has finally done away with those terrible tabs that kept breaking off. It’s a new system & you place the battery in the cover before you put the cover on. It’s way more streamlined too. The connection points for the battery in its housing seem much deeper & further away from the door. FWIW I always found the problems with my stages wasn’t water ingress but the door & those tabs when replacing batteries, they were top of the ‘made of cheese’ league.
