I’ve got ep 5 lined up and ready to go. I cant help thinking its turning into The Walking Dead but without the characters.

The Chilterns are shocking, there aren’t endless trails fantastic climbs & descents, wonderful green forests of outstanding natural beauty blessed with gorgeous quick drying single track or-quiet country lanes, just labour hating Tory Land Rover driving nibys (no irony in the last bit) :-)

I gotta see it its all lined up ready to go just need to pick the moment. I found both those other films leave quite a bad taste in your mouth. John Connelly who wrote Layer Cake once described Reqium… to me as “somebody walking up & handing you a big steaming turd and the leaving you holding it” :-)

Thanx for that, wanna sit down with the wife & watch it but when I described the content & Kermode review she was put off as too harrowing. I had it down as (subject matter aside) something akin to requiem for a dream meets antichrist

Repeating myself here as all the info is on another thread but had/got a few stages road & mtb. Had the well know issues with all Gen 1’s. All were replaced with Gen 2’s and had zero problems. As for the nonsense about inconsistent readings please ignore that as it’s nonsense.

Brilliantly told story and fantastically executed to screen and the slow build is a real treasure problem for me is I’m not sure I care enough about Jimmy, his relationship with his brother or Kim TBH. Apart from Mike I just don’t think the characters are strong enough and I can’t help thinking it’s Breaking Bad without the good bits. Wife loves it though.
FWIW If you are a fan of real slow build story lines then try The Affair.

Spurs even though an LFC fan I just like them better than Leicester. The devil in me also thinks it would be funny if considering all the promise Arsenal have shown over the years that Spurs go and win it

Yeah got one on my El Mariachi it’s from Ican. Can’t fault it great service as well constant updates as to where the fork was regards shipping in fact even got an email from them telling me it was at the P.O. & I should go get it ( I was away when delivered). Performance wise brilliant saves a ton of weight strong enough for biggish XC type hits round the children’s were I ride but also plenty of comfort/damping from the carbon.

Only one film to watch home alone – Requiem for a Dream, if you are going to feel harrowed and used, you might as well do it alone.

Watched The Invitation the other day different subject matter but a similar sort of feeling & equally brilliant.

@AlexSimon Snowpeircer amazing film, took me ages to find it then read about all the hassle of its release, one of those that’s like nothing you have ever seen.

Yeah short here too, I find if I need long sleeves usually means a heavier/warmer top.

I had the Salsa cromoto on the El Mariachi it was a nice compliant fork but it’s as heavy as a small child, swapped it for Chinese version of Whiskey Components from Ican & it’s brilliant. I ride in Chilterns & it handles everything fine plus saves a huge weight on the climbs.

I am 49 and how old feel is wholly dependent on how my kids are behaving on that specific day. It ranges from being 10yrs old to having one foot in the grave !

Yeah another for Stewart Lee, not everybody’s flavour and crapstone crapstone could have been his peak but he is very very funny.

Glad somebody mentioned Tony Law as well, plain crazy :-)

Only thing I can add to what already mentioned is beware of getting an infection. I broke mine by coming off bike and elbow smashing into ribs. The usual pain (sneezing OMFG) but I MTFU, so I thought, and was quickly back on bike. I was duly warned you are susceptible to chest infections especially if you return to full training (can’t remember why) and it can then really set you back. Of course l ignored this warning & thus got a chest infection which set me back a fair bit as it then takes longer to clear. So I would just take it easy let it heal.

When he revealed he was actually from saaaaaarf laaaaandan, everyone was gobsmacked!

He’s East not South, like somebody saying he’s Yorkshire when from Lancs.

It’s his story as much as anything else, poor east end boy (East ham Caning Town) son of immigrant parents done good ex garage/house DJ who won a place at national theatre.

Luther FWIW is brilliant, about as believable & realistic as that story about the bloke with a beard who died on a cross & then got up again but hey that seems to have run & run & run :-)

I’ve dots on my knuckles, they aren’t borstal dots that is a single dot under the eye. 4 dots on the knuckles stands for ACAB (all coppers are bastards). :-) The other classic 70’s Indian ink tattoo is 3 dots in a triangle between your thumb & index finger meaning ‘sign of madness’

I thought carbon was amazing when it first came to the world of bikes & built a road bike with every possible part made from it then needed a name for Twiitter when it first landed. That boring & sad really.

Nice send off today some old faces from the Mark & Blade era. His sister put together a montage of photos inc lots of him riding. Sad story around the passing though Mark was on his own in a tiny flat in Germany having spilt with a girl over there, he hadn’t done music for a while & had severed contract with lots of people (inc me) as he was sick of the industry. He was though getting back in to making beats & hooked up with a very old friend & making some exciting inroads but sadly he passed in his sleep.

Funeral/memorial tomorrow. He died in his sleep of brain haemorrhage. It will be a sad affair, but as Mark would only want it, the music will be amazing.

The problems with my G1’s (XTR) were a mixed bag of great battery life then the replacements bombed, warrantied one that lasted only a few weeks & one that was working ok but then put bike away over winter & when got out in warmer conditions it wouldn’t work.

I have still got a G1 ultegra that is alive & kicking though even when I thought it was dead & its over 2yrs old now, during winter rides on the road I have cut out a section of old inner tube & slipped this over the crank & battery cover dunno if that helped ?

@mrblobby tbh the course was that technical I could hardly see the output except on the climbs & I forgot to turn the Garmin on so didn’t get all data for performance management chart after :-/

I raced my G2 XTR stages through snow slop grim & everything else you could imagine on Sunday for 4hours at Gorrick never drop a beat. Massive clean of bike afterwards & connected up again no problem, checked again today & all good.

Well that was interesting 99% singletrack :-) I was 10th in 4hr vets suffered mid race not enough off road riding too much road the lack of strength & riding anything technical took its toll. That mud sapped the legs after while too but good fun. Did anybody meet the grumpy grandma on the approach road ? As I was leaving she said to me that she hopes she never sees us all again 8O

I have done that stage race organised by La Santa then went out with some dudes who knew the trails day after can’t give anymore or better info that what peeps said here apart from you need to find the lava/ash descents, they are amazing like deep snow arse right off the edge of the seat :-). Some tasty climbs there too I did an off road climb up the tabayesco, enjoy.

My G1 stages that was showing all the death signs still alive :-) TBH I’ve only had a problem with 1 stages road crank, it’s an XTR one that has been poor for me but that has now be warrantied to a G2 & should weather permitting see its first outing at Gorrick this weekend. If it’s a shit fest I’m on the single speed though :-)
