I know OP has decided to end this by keeping bike but lastly as it’s been mentioned a few times Triton don’t have & are not a shop. I know of them as they ain’t too far from me in east LDN & I wanted to buy a salsa el mariachi SS early this yr I rung them up to see if I could see one & just check sizing, they said no I can’t come down as they don’t have a showroom etc & I just have to order it on line. I went to Flitch cycles in the end Stuart there was much more helpful.

It’s an AC 225 QR rear which I think is 130. Yeah press fit but to be fair my last press fit was on an S Works stumpy & that lasted 5/6 yrs with various replacement BBs before I finally got the creaky noise so I went with it. Plus the frame was £299 – win win as far as I could see.

I took it for an epic spin ’round the park’ t’other day like most places LDN /Epping forest is currently under water so god knows when I reckon I will ride it. It does seem fast though :-)

Relatively new used to be a runner then triathlons & road but involved in bad RTA with drunk driver when training for IM. Another triathlete who was also mtb rider kept saying I would love mtb as before living in LDN grew up in Horwich Lancs running fells & XC. Insurance payout bought a Trek 9.9 went in Epping forest fell in love with it immediately then got roped into doing Dusk till Dawn. I crashed 7 times on one lap but couldn’t believe the togetherness of everybody taking part which was completely opposite to triathlon. Never looked back.

He’s tried to overtake me on the right in that gap that’s my van on the left my rear driver side bumper has hit his front passenger side bumper as he has tried to squeeze past me in the parking space

btw don’t wanna get insurance involved just reckon he should have to pay for the re spray on my bumper which is has taken of the paint work

    No its only one lane
its a controlled parking zone on both sides for residents only (me) marked bays the full length of each side of the road
he tried to drive into the parking bay to attempt to pass me

Thanx seems like it 50/50 & its one of those things where it’s hard for me to explain the exact dynamics of the road. I can hear what everybody is saying about yielding etc but be damned if I can figure out how when it’s clear behind you & then u follow all procedure but then somebody just comes round a corner then up behind you sees what u are doing ignores it & then runs into you.

The irony is if it was my car I wouldn’t really give a shit but it’s the van – T5 camper conversion which I had only taken out so I could drop a bike build off at LBS after dropping kids at school ( couldn’t get 3 kids frame fork & wheels in car
    :(

It’s a one way street with parking bays & cars on both sides there is virtually nowhere for him to overtake I was doing my manoeuvre first, he wasn’t stationary behind me & I had ample time & space to reverse.
Its hard to visualise but has happened to me many times my parking space is virtually opposite the side street.
What happens is people pull out of the side street onto my road without stopping which u can do if there is no traffic from the your left carry on round the corner and almost run into the back of me when reversing as they don’t want to stop this is what has happened instead of him waiting he has carried on driving to attempt to over take me.

Just made the leap to 29 wondering where it’s been all my life. Interesting thing is what I like about it so much is what is supposed to put people off – no more bloody trail buzz :-) I now only feel what I need to not every little root branch & pebble. Also Epping forest was almost all 26 but out walking the trails with the kids today seen at least half & half on 26 & 29

Yeah they were the instructions I was following from the recent thread, I think my PC is f**ked nowt working every time I try to extract the zip it comes out as a PDF that Adobe reader then say can’t open, I even uninstalled AR from the PC to see what would happen then the file was converted to some sort of image disc ?
Gonna try neighbours computer see what happens then

I also have a salsa 2014 El Mariachi and though only been out a handful of times I can’t rate it highly enough at the moment. Spoke to a small number of people about salsa as well before as this would be my first one & it has certainly lived up to everything they said about them – in other words it’s bloody good it is

I had a very similar size impact in my carbon frame along the top tube it wasn’t worth a full repair but spoke to repair people about it, they sent me some carbon fibres & I bought some epoxy resin from them did a DIY repair
It wasn’t pretty but really did the job of just strengthening the area

Rode straight through 2 winters in Epping forest on a rigid 26 SS such fun but finally bent the forks after hitting one too many bumps. Went out today first time on brand new bike SS rigid salsa el mariachi felt like somebody had laid a carpet round the entire forest – l really liked it

TBH I thought I was gonna end up taking it somewhere local to get a new zip fitted almost certain I lost the receipt & would never have thought a zip would have a lifetime guarenas ?

Snapped a set of RS SID teams at the crown kept noticing my wheel was never aligned proper though it was flexing till the forks snapped. Searched the STW thread turn out a batch of SIDS was made with the lowers 5mm out contacted CRC they got them replaced under warranty.

Also bent my Kona project 2’s hit a rut in epping forest.

I bought one about 2 yrs ago love it the fact that I can use it anywhere without having to connect to a power source is great. Used it at loads of races especially exposure 24 this yr was invaluable. Also if I drive anywhere to ride (which happens a lot after dropped kids at school) I just chuck it in the van & soon as ride is finished clean bike which is a huge deal for me as I usually have to then rush off to pick up the critters.

Epping Forest about 20 mins ride away is free pounds per hour & you get nothing but unpolished natural technical single track for miles & miles & miles.

Could be good for winter though as Epping then transforms into one huge enormous swamp

The last I heard about the venue though was there was major issues with crossing points where pedestrians will have access across trails
