+1 for The Croft , 2 min walk into town/shops/pubs for the ladies and easy access into forest for you , return via Walker Ground brings you out in the village centre /pubs for apres ride Pimms .
Well done smuttie , between you and a mate who worked/guided up there I’ve had some of the best days out available , there a huge amount of riding in that little forest that people just don’t see .
Had to use them a couple of years ago to replace 4 bikes, I cant speak highly enough of the guy I dealt with start to finish , all special builds Inc wheels etc , just had a delay on one which was due to it been in short supply anywhere so not their fault ( I had the option to change my mind) .
I too looked at the cash offer but it made more sense financially to have the bikes .I actually gained from the deal – but I’d still cut the balls of the schmuck who nicked them.
We went to Brighouse last weekend and it was great, fish’n’chips to die for, and a top Local freehouse pub within 2mins of the hotel,. it was VERY Local though….
If your from down south , could you do me a favour – visit a pub , buy a “sprinkler” of the landlord and take it back with you and explain how to use it just in case I have to visit again . Ta
I wet shave both chins n bonce everyday with a gillette sensor II and Parmolive cream (sometimes twice if I’m going on a night out) I must be lucky as I’ve never suffered from rashes etc , I even go against the grain , I just hate stubble and always feel a lot cleaner afterwards. I do get some strange looks when camping with a full head of lather rasping away .
Have a look at “The Mountain Bike Chalet ” excellent service , Ben and Lucy are really friendly and the whole team will look after you very well indeed , they get my vote and score 10/10
Guiding — well I suppose you could DIY and stick to the marked trails but a guides aim is to show you the best areas and trails and link them all together for the most pleasure , we’re not talking PDS with its signposts and grades here , people who live around Les Arcs are still finding/clearing tracks all the time .
My votes go to Trail Addiction or Themountainbikechalet.com , awesome area to ride in , sooooo much singletrack . Travelwise cash in your tesco club points and use the chunnel .
Have a quick look to see if the brake lights work , VW’s have faulty brake switches , which on an auto will stop it starting – providing your battery is up to strength that is .
Les Arcs is awesome , miles n miles of singletrack (book a guide , you won't find the good stuff without) , not full on downhill , not wide tracks (as in les gets)just techie singletrack , "Alpine switchback" will be engraved in your mind .
Sorry edited to answer you question long travel heavy duty hard tail ie an Alpitude or one of Dialled bikes would be ok , singlespeed would be interesting .
If it keeps bringing the same codes up thats fine , but if its intermittant or brings odd ones up , its hard to diagnose , either way I'm sure you'll be fine with the dealer , they'll have be given a fair chance to fix it , if you don't make headway speak to the service manager, then the dealer principal, then trading standards . Be calm and be fair and you'll get a better response .
Unfortunately things go wrong , its not the Dealers fault , you should really give them a call to log it and give them chance to fix (I don't forsee a problem) . IMPORTANT – make sure your friend doesn't clear the codes because if the car doesn't bring them up again the dealer will see a car with no faults !
We had our bikes nicked just before xmas (4 in total ) the claim was settled within a week and a figure agreed with wheelies direct who were excellent. The only snag was waiting for a 2010 small zesty to come into the country which we knew about so no probs , the rest were all customs builds ie yeti, genesis Ti etc with a mix of King/ hope stuff . absolutley not hassle. I can't praise M&S and Wheelies (Tredz) enough . The claim was for 4 x 4k max +spares etc , didn't even ask for photos or proof of purchase. Also they paid out on a 575 rear swing arm that i broke whilst out in les Arcs last summer on holiday .
Hi all , i'm the one who had the gear swiped , I'm proper gutted . I don't know what the answer is, the garage was locked the bikes were chained up inside the up and over door was pulled of its hinges (hence no alarm going off) , you have to think that if i'd heard the alarm and ran out in fury would i be in the papers after been stabbed etc , maybe the next time they'll stop me in the car and mug me ? who knows . Interesting that they left my carbon framed record equiped road bike dangling untouched , which makes me think i've been targeted specifically for the mtbs – so what ends would they stop? Sad to think that someone will buy them knowing they're nicked .
But it won't put me off riding and I'll be out again soon enjoying myself .
