Dragging this one up from the past a bit

Just recevied some F1 Uno in a size medium im 71kg and 178cm – right in the middle of the M size guide chart.

The leg grippers are actually baggy around my thighs and the gripper is too low down and is actually on my knee cap and sitting right in the crack on the back of my knee. Gutted as they took bloody 7 days to get here from Evans.

I now need to get shop to order in a size S – go try them swap them if they are ok if not they need returned via post as i used paypal. I knew i should have just ordered the Rapha ones which say im a Small on their guide.

Not a recommendation really but if I was then I’d suggest 2×750 bottles with some electrolyte should suit most.

But camelbacks on road bikes….whatever next? Headset spacers or SPD pedals tut tut 😥

Pressume your road biking at that distance…?

It’s enough for me and that was a 18mph avg. 1 do have another 500 ml when I get back in the house though with another half tablet.

Where do you keep 5l of fluid?

That boots link brings up an error about discontinued after you add to basket. All the google shopping links all do similar.

I’ll check out some of these alternative products mentioned. Gin sounds promising although she is getting better these last few days. Seems to come in 5 day waves. Poor little bugger.

    BB30 isnt press fit

Press fit is BB86 on road and BB90 on MTB

BB30 is a totally different width of shell and the axle is 30mm not 24ish mm

    What frame is it?

Ive got a Press fit and it needed a BB86 BB and it wont take a BB30 chainset.

Why couldnt they allow local people to run their sections? Instead someone from here is running in North Shields.

And why isnt someone local doing the tyne bridge thing not bear whatever you call him.

Took my daughter to watch it this morning, freezing cold, wet and windy. AT 18 months she was less than impressed.

probably gravel on road or an area of rough stuff

A point down is a pot hole or man cover

Flick of elbow – take your turn on the front

Spin of the finger – like a whinchman on a helicopter would do normally means get the chaingang working.

leyene bag as in pic above with:

    1 tube
    1 co2 + head
    1 tyre lever
    1 tiny tiny multi tool
    1 £10 note

1 500ml bottle on bike – most cafes will refil with some water if you ask nicely – always a newsagent to buy a bottle if needed.

Rarely a jacket or gilet – check forecasts first

Leyne bag and phone in jersey – no no no to saddle bags!

Just don’t eat anything that’s pre made is a good basis to start from.

Now and again is ok but make things from scratch it’s cheaper and not always time consuming.

15-20 miles and 13 mph. Yeah your awesome when you entering the ironman?

Yeah roading is easy. Its all about the bike that lets you do 100 miles at 19mph Avgs.

5 years of MTB and still 15stone, 1 year of roading with a club and I’m now 11. Work out from that which is the easiest

    Honda civic. I’ve got a 1.4 96 P it’s class.

    Keeps on keeping on.

Engine bay is clean as a whistle, 90k on it and only just had its original exhaust replaced.

Cannondale frames sell well, as will the shifters and chainset.

Even after splitting your probably not going to get much more than the 300 figure you mentioned I don’t think. Although hold off a month until TDF is on tv and then stick it on eBay. It goes mental on there when the tour is on.

Well its now completely knackered and im on call…. oops

It wont restart and the apple logo keeps coming on in a loop. I’ve plugged it into laptop which shows recover mode however when doing a restore it just hangs on the Restoring software bit. It goes through restore authorisation fine.

So im left nothing. Any options other than smashing it with a hammer which is what i feel like doing.

Another 3 crashes in last hour, plugged into macbook and itunes launches saying iphone is in recovery mode. Let it do a restore and update and see what happens.

Got an appointment at store booked in for Tuesday, that will be fun as im due looking after my 18mth old daughter.

I’ve notched 17 points in my first season – train lots but thats not lots of miles.

Most races are 30m ish but fast – get on the Turbo – i was fitter in feb after 4 turbo interval sessions a week. Not as good as climbing as i am now but more explosive power for catching bursts. lots of 1 to 1:30 all out efforts. Use a HR and hit zone 6 a few times but warm up and down strictly.

Never drop that wheel thats in front of you, a 10-20 second burst of complete death to keep on that wheel can save you a whole load of pain dropping off the back and trying to get back on.

Box clever – tuck in dont be sucked onto the front but if you have legs give it a go, groups of 5 are easier to win from than a bunch sprint of 30+, just statistics really.

If your suffering more than likely others are too, thats when you give it a go. I once remember reading that from Jens Voigt!

Cheers Will – did you get carbonzones?

Ive read most of the BR thread but it goes on and on and so its hardly much of a resource anymore to getting quick information.

I’m still to be put off by any known problems. At £300 they are a relatively disposable item. It’s only 2 pairs of decent shorts.

In my experience, clean it very very well tyres the lot, photograph everything – set an album up in flikr share the link.

Get a decent camera dslr etc – good background – normally a garage door is good.

First impressions count the most, price second.

Ive just sold my ornage five for more than others on here following my own tips above.

A friend crashed on lap one and ended up in hospital. Came off on a fireroad descent whilst not concentrating apparently.

Anyone see him/crash? Bright orange Breeze Bikes jersey? The pics of him on the hospital bed dont look nice.

No pics to hand but I have one of these (Cube Litening Super HPC Race)

Its fricking awesome. Use it for club rides, racing and training. About to order some new 50mm wheelsmith gigantex’s too. 🙂

I even commute 70 miles in fine weather on it. Like today which was perfect.
