Will, thats the one the kid poured petrol down his sink and set a match to it – think he had a blockage!

The leek village is Grange Villa in County Durham – proper shit hole by the looks of it.

bought one of these which is enough for now…

Even little blocks and jammers cost loads. 1 new main sail about £2k – if used weekly or a few events a year then your talking an annual purchase.

£1k for a jib – £1500 for a new kite. dyneema ropes arent cheap either – good job i can splice and taper them myself.

When your doing 18-20kts you start to worry about the 7.5k mast! – which is only insured for 2/3rds.

Simonside is at Rothbury, Forestry Commison woods and crags. There are some posts on here about it – I can never find anything other than forstery tracks there though. If you email me a carl r donaldson @ g mail . c o m i will send you a route map of thrunton woods. Which I think will be your best option.

Thrunton is about 5 mins from Alnwick. http://www.multimap.com/maps/?#t=l&map=55.37492118542293,-1.8753122197060356|14|4&dp=841&loc=GB:55.37492118542293:-1.8753122197060356:16

Where are you staying? I live 9 miles from Alnwick so if you need any local advice ask away.

There is a guy at Rothbury who does tours and trips etc http://www.northumberlandbikebreaks.com/ but i dont know him or ever used him so have no idea what he is like.

The closest thing would probably be Thrution Woods however all the singletrack sections are not marked and if you dont know them then you will miss them.

For marked trails you would be best with Kielder – you can hire bikes there if nobody has one and its about a half hour drive – not far more winding roads.

You also have Simonside at Rothbury and the cheviots but you will need maps etc.

well in true singletrack style I ignored you all and bought it today.

We got a good deal on ours in fact 1k up on any other deal we were offered – went to look at focus etc but the space for our dog is excellent in the zafari – we are not gona use the rear 2 seats but got a 55 plate for only 7.5k with 3k for our car. We are intending to get a dog cage setup for the dog in the back to keep the car clean inside and im ordering the roof bars for the bike later this week. I was impressed with the build quality for a vauxhall it was quite good – better then the renault and it was quite quick at 150bhp.

We went walking with family and the dog at weekeend and thats what made us decide we need space for walking boots and bags in boot and dog and room for at least 4 adults.

also the kerb weight will tow the boat at 1400kg so thats spot on too.

Mine at 6 still mouths a bit when playing, never too hard though. We use a water sprayer like you use for plants to curb his bad habbits.

Just back from an attempt at Glenshee today…. Left ALnwick at 5.30 this morn got to Blairgowrire sat waiting on A93 opening at Blairgowrie – got to bridge of cally at 11 ish for the guys i was with to get their hire gear which they had booked (they were all sold out by then). Then sat in a 4 mile que before Spittal of Glenshee so turned round and headed home – called in at Hillend and had a play for 3 hrs which was better than nothing as it was mostly snow not dry slope.

So then – has it ever been asked on here?

Which ones best for general UK XC and trail riding?

    456, Soul, Prince Albert?

Consider cost, weight, quality, gemoetry, style.

Im a bit of a looks freak so not lovin the new 456 blue – however its cheaper than the others so would compromise on colour for its price. Souls arent cheap but better tubing – PA’s look the biz and are in between on the prices but not sure on weight and gemoetry.

Between the 3 of them lies my perfect bike.

    Decisions decisions!

What would you choose and why?

They have met working targets and the company has repayed loan early – no senior management/execs getting bonuses – I say good on them, well done. Work hard get rewarded for it.

I have a 6 yr old working strain english Springer Spaniel. Rescued him from NESSR – nessr.net who specialise in the breed.

They are wicked dogs that will make you smile, laugh, cry, – they can be a bit naughty on occasions as they are clever and a bit hyper.

They need stimulation – ours at 6yrs is left when we go to work but gets walked during the day from my generous mother who fits a couple of miles in at lunch. The moment he isnt walked you can tell he gets frustrated.

If you can give them time and energy they deserve they will reward you, super pets. Anyway best get the coat on and take him on his 3 mile evening walk to the beach – raining, cold and windy – has to be done though.

but if you didnt but 1080 you would always wonder – “would that have been better if I bought the 1080p instead of the older version” Go 1080p I did and in my mind I know I have the best for a while to come.

However someone told me about HD e or something with 4000p! Arrggghh!

Springer Spaniel. A lot of work but intelligent and enthusiastic dogs. We rescued a one through a breed rescuer who is local to us.

Have a look at some on www .NESSR. net

Will probably just run it with recon uturns initially and move everything over from my boardman comp with some minor changes to stem etc. Create something a bit more hardcore than the boardman. I imagine it will be a fair bit hearier so will spoil my climbing but cant have everything.

I have a springer spaniel that i ride with. Im lucky though as he is a rescue and I think he is just so happy to be out of the kennels that he stays near me and does as he is told. I find the faster I ride the better behaved he is – gets his mind into running rather than streams and sticks. I think thats why that Ceasar Milan dude uses skates – dogs seem to prefer to behave better at that half run half trot pace.

When it comes to the shit thing – im all for picking it up in urban areas outside people houses, playfileds, paths etc, however I dont agree with picking it up in the heather/trees when in forests just to fill up landfills with plastic bags when foxes and deers are crapping al lover the place.
