We have discussed riding – she says she totally accepts that what I do and that there is no need for it to stop.

We have arranged that I can do Sunday morning rides etc and the odd evening in local woods. In terms of hill walking that we do together I don't anticipate a change there as little un will just come with us (maybe more planning of equipment needed) we have a springer spaniel too so the dog still needs his exercise.

By the time the summer comes it will be 5 months and a little less fragile.

Me too! We are 8 weeks, waiting for our first midwife appointment and 12weeks scan before telling family etc. It takes ages though we've known since 4 weeks but it's just a matter of waiting. I've occupied myself doing a full research project on 3 wheel prams. due on Jan 5th.

Chopwell is prob your beat bet if you have a car. Check this site out, a guy posted it here earlier this week http://www.nemountainbikeroutes.co.uk/ there is a chopwell route there. It's about 15 mins drive from city centre if you time the traffic right.

Actually on the devils staircase theme – im up there in early Aug doing Red XC at Ft W mixed with a holliday but the wife will also be there – im thinking of getting her to drop me off in car nr the Gelncoe ski resort end and then meeting her at Kinlocheven – doable – how long time wise?

Generally the climbs are on fireroads Stu – downs are on hidden natural trails through the woods. I've spent a cracking afternoon there today.

No problems with bikes and walkers on the fireroads – everyone gets on – a smile and polite hello seems to help.

Just don't go blasting down the fireroads past walkers – generally no need to as the trails are ace through the woods and walkers dont use them.

Apple green is ace – but id rather spend the extra 100 on an upgrade to maxle or performance pack.
