Don’t bother nothing is waterproof and breathable in reality.

I use a gore windstopper santini soft shell thing but will be swapping for a Rapha pro tour jacket this winter. Wind stopping is more important than waterproofing

Cat1 climb with the bike for me on Tuesday. Riding from Hawik.

Myself and mate are heading over from Alnwick on Tuesday to Hawik area.

How does this sound as a plan? Park up in Hawik and ride up to the top of the climb then ride back down to Hawik.

What time would be best to leave Hawik, what time do people think they will be coming through to the top of the climb? Is the top the resevoir?

Can we get back on topic, none of this gassing stuff or accidents/incidents?

1×9 for me. 40t front 11-25 here although last race I couldn’t get in 25 rear so was on 1×8 11-23.

I use PRO PLT alloy light enough but i wouldn’t do Carbon bars on my race bike.

If you want an upgrade look at a good saddle and seatpost, better crankset, lighter shifters.

I gave up on the Turbo for rollers they are a nicer experience to use IMO.

I got Minoura ones as they have Alu rollers which are better I’m told, its loads quieter than the turbo but I havent done full suffertest efforts on them yet.

I went into first croner about 15th just keeping an eye on people then started pulling places back. I was using a 40T single ring up front but my 11-25 cassette wouldn’t change up to 25t so had to make do 40-23 which was a bit much on some of those climbs, i’d of prefered an easier gear to spin legs a bit quicker.

Need to drop a few psi too i think.

I went to a park dean holiday in Tummell bridge this summer, they had a kids disco every evening from 6-8, the little un is normally in bed at 7 but we took her being on holidays etc.

She loved the disco but I was a bit put off by their choice of music. I complained to the manager about “your sexy and you know it” and he couldn’t understand my problem in his own words.

Again great base but entertainment was terrible.
