    Ultra 30 – ace

I think someone has made one into a powerboat somewhere – it was on Sailing Anarchy site.

I would have raced ypu in the past then on Risky Busines the Melges 24 at Scottish.

Havent been for last 2 years like as our last trip was a disaster with the bearing collapsing on the trailer and costing a grand to get to Tarbet from Lochgilphead – total nightmare.

yetidave – Sonars should be banned. When i had the Melges we would race in the SBR fleet at Round the Island etc with them. We were so far ahead of them we couldnt even see them and they would still clean up.

At Scottish Series they have finished 1,2,3,4 for the last few years. THey have since been separated from the proper sportsboats. There SBR rating is phenomenal and with the symmetric kite the planing boats stood no chance.

Raced against a IC at the Birket Trophy at Ullswater – it was quick and they tack much easier than you would imagine.

Isnt this thread getting a bit of topic now.

The OP was refereing to someone who was about 21 yrs of age and now folk are dragging things in about 16yr olds when that was never the intention of the thread.

Time for a colsure on this one I think.

That wasnt amazing it was pretty damn stupid and the sea rarely gives you second chances.

I went overboard during an overnight race once and was shitting myself – got back on quite quick and I never ever want to be in that situation again. We did a gybe at about 11kts in heavy seas and the skipper who was a crap helm made an arse of it as usual.

That was on one of these : bull 7000 Sportsboat

Just gone to Lyrik Coil Uturn – the weight isnt at all noticable and the uturn helps on mega steep climbs.

Tested it first with a 2011 Float 36 RL2c thing and they were amazing if you can afford them but they are mega money.

A new set of Lyriks on classifieds at the mo.

Email me if you need to know anymore about my setup at 160mm on a five.

    Quite Fancy a Corby 25:

And then there is Velsheda, what more can you say other than perfection:

Thats no problem with only one exchange mailbox. So basically the exchange route gives faster email delivery to your phone than the original Gmail mailbox (pre-confiured/wizard).

There is a modification that you can make to the floodgate – see here….

Apparently this allows you not to ramp up through the travel and bottom out if you are using a lighter spring.

Obviously this only applies if you have a MISSION Control and not the Motion Control which is a less functional damper unit.

Rik – what do you weigh? Dont believe the standard spring figures. There is another thread running about this.

Check out MTBR forums they all go on about this some people running standard up to and over 100kg.

There are quite a few articles on MTBR saying that those weight ranges are somewhat off and some people are using std spring up to 220lbs with the wastegate removal modification.

There was a pic of a snapped one sometime back on Bikeradar. On downtube behind headtube welds. It looked very very thin tubing.
