303, 404 Firecrests, C35s, Enve (on CK hubs from wheelsmith) would be my choice.

Sorry guys fulcrum3/rs80 are budget wheels really. Cosmic carbone SL are a bit heavy at 1700g SLR are ok.

Speak to derek at Wheelsmith.co.uk he would sort you out something lovely and handbuilt for it. Gigantex 50mm clincher on a variety of hubs. I run some as last seasons race wheels and this coming seasons training wheels they are fine for everything, stiff and light. Moving to some FFWD F6R tubs for next season.

Edit Ive also got some Ksyrium Elites as a spare set of wheels that I hardly use as they make irritating squeaking when climbing and im only 70kg. Apparently quite a few get squeaking problems at the nipple joints. Might sell them actually come to think of it.

Virtual box with additions, you can set it up with shared mapped drives etc between your mac and the VM, which is handy for transferring files.

I was never sure about installing a AV on the windows XP VM but did for safety anyway.

Meet Brad – now 10 rescued from NESSR he had had 4 homes by 4 years old. We got him 6 years ago. He hasnt left yet but he has come close, we had to make a big life decision for him.

This was him yesterday sporting his new haircut. Looking a bit hard up.

He was ran over 3 years ago and has two titanium rods bracing his spine. He has 3 vertebrae that were reconstructed and braced together. Thankfully he regained full use of legs after 3 months of hell and tears. He had hydrotherapy to get his muscle mass back. He also has no hip ball joint on his right back leg. This seems to cause him the most discomfort. He is on Metacam and that seems to keep him happy enough. He can still chase a tennis ball but only once a day is now enough for him. His mind is still hyper just his body cant keep up which is such a shame for him.

In total it was about £5k which was insured thankfully. Otherwise he would have been a goner. We had the decision to make on him whether to get him put to sleep or give him a chance, we thought everyone else has given up on him in his life I wont. I was in tears like a baby.

This was him 3 days before he was run over:

Meet Murphy my mothers Working cocker. He also has a bit of a tale attached. He crashed into his brother Indy on the beach another working cocker. He ended up with a detatched retina and had to have his eye removed at only 11 months. Hes a lovely active dog and still does gundog training everyweek.

“But people exposed to periods of high stress, like marathon runners, could reduce their risk of catching colds by half if they took the vitamin daily.”

    Sounds fairly similar situation :

A few weeks before the start of the cross season I increased the intensity of my training to involve more HIIT sessions and from that I caught a chesty cold a week before the start of the season. I ignored it and raced through it only to catch a head cold a week after clearing the previous one.

Hopefully it goes soon. Got another race on Sunday.

Suppose in the meantime I should get some vitamin stuff. Whats an effervescent?

Trail Rat, yep normally fairly healthy stuff, veg, fresh food we dont use any jars or pre prepared sauces etc. Lots of wholemeal bread, eggs, nuts, raisins that kind of whole food stuff.

I think your last point may be most important. Im probably not recovering since the first one I had

Im gutted for you, not willing to offer any advice as I think you know what needs done already.

We got a springer from a springer rescue, mistakenly on 25th October 5 years ago. The first bonfire night with us was horrendous, shaking, panting, howling incessant barking. Very aggressive behaviour towards me as I tried to help him. It was very stressful. A few days later and it was all gone back to normal. Except for his fear of the rain. Turns out that this was also due to thunder which he thought was fireworks.

We tried everything including tranquilisers which were horrible to see him wasted.

Anyway we had a baby in January 2011, 5th Nov comes round and nothing he is asleep on the sofa not a care in the world. We thought it may be a one off but then last night the same, totally different dog. Upside down on sofa all night.

Same house, only difference is our daughter. We were wondering if the pack dynamics have changed and he no longer sees himself top of the pack defending us. He now knows its me & wife and daughter in charge round here.

IMO and havering had such stressful problems for 3 years that the public sale of them should be banned, or at least at the hell out I them so nobody can buy them. Public displays can stay.

Sorry your boat is crap, please don’t go into the North Sea in that.

I’ve raced and cruised yachts and dinghies on this coast for 25 years.

RNYC do a guide to ports on the north east coast. Royal Northumberland yacht club. They sell it in local chandlers so you may pick one up down there. If not Storrar marine store in Newcastle will sort you out.

As above though a proper paper chart is minimum alongside digital charts. VHF, flares, spare fuel, spare impellers for outboard, spare sheer pin, spare 2 stroke oil, funnel, lifejacket a, glow sticks, anchor with decent amount of chain plus rope. Knife. Spanners, screw drivers, pliers, wd40, spare spark plugs,

Can i suggest to you a Forme Hiver? Cheap as chips £250 on ebay at the moment light with full carbon fork inc steerer.

A lad in the NE races on one and has just signed for Rapha squad so must be good enough for high end racing. I have one but im not as good as him. Generally top 10 at local events.

Stick some nice tubs on them and your done.

Mother has two working cockers, I’ve got a working springer.

Cockers are not mini springers that’s for sure. Very clever very intense dogs. She spends quite a bit of ££ a week going to special gundog lessons to keep them stimulated and that working mentality.

They aren’t really just a family pet as they can be so intense. My springer on the other hand is still hardwork but a bit dopier and a bit more prone to a good sleep during the day as long as he gets a good run around a few times a day.

My mother spends about 2 – 3 hrs a day with her two to keep them entertained. Based on what you’ve said and our experiences I would avoid a working cocker on your work patterns.

Yep the long rides have made way for hill climbs though. Mixing up with some CX.
Hoping to get a few long rides in these next few weeks though. Probably throw a set of road tyres on some ksyrium elites and add them on the cx bike soon.

The good bike is going up in the spare bedroom soon.
