I think 12 deg is canny considering it was -11 outside this morning.

So the insulation is doing a good job since it was only 18deg when it went off at 21:00 and stayed at about 14 overnight.

Cavities & loft insulation and double glazing.

Thanks for all the advice chaps.

THe plan is then – maybe raise the overnight temp up a bit to 15 but use an oil filled radiator in our room for first few weeks.

Got a 2.5 gro bag but will get a few more from ebay. If anyone is selling newborn ones let me know.

I’ve got the idea about layering etc but 18 overnight which is what all the websites recommend seems OTT to me.

wellies are cold and your socks slip off.

Walking boots with long socks and trousers tucked in has been my chosen attire of recent. A bit like a Glasgow NED

I wonder if we will get another panorama this time with new accusations rather than the old ones from 10 years ago. Obviously corrupt

Racism doesnt matter, nor does infrastructure, cost.etc etc. The fifa cronies will get their backhanders – so all is good

Im working from home and have been since Monday. Unfortunatley I cant get the car to the local trails and its too deep in Northumberland. So the bike can stay nice and cozy tucked away in the shed.

I really fancied an Inners uplift day at the weekend too.

We are choosing baby names at the mo for our impending arrival and some of the websites are full of stupid names. Most of the sites are American and they are known for stupid names so the chavs come along and look at these sites and thats that, Chardonnay leona princess talulla smith is created.

Honestly I couldnt get over how good it was and we have had proper snow – checkout dracs photos.

He even accelerated from a start to get it spinning up and it got about 50% grip. He does full seasons snowboarding in the Alps and uses this car there so has proper snow tyres on steelies for it

Ive just priced some winter 225/45/18s for a laugh – cheapest is 150 each so I think i will give it a miss.

You should get a vat break on winter tyres and then cancel all gritting.

Mate has them on his Quattro p reg A4 (alps car) he was flying through the northumbrian snow at the weekend. Better than any 4x4s – he has a landy 90 and left it at home preferring the a4 in winter mode.

I gaze at Northern “beauties” such as that weekly – I work on the Newcastle quayside 😉 to be fair most are better than that.

Think the ed o look is maybe stretching it – more a length like this :

Normally use a i-stuble babyliss thing to maintain a 1mm stubble length but Im going to make a push for the longer look.

Ideally id like to loose bits of food in it or be able to comb it.

Apparently some guys have been doing a bit building in simonside. I went on a recci but couldn’t find anything. It actually looks a better forest for trail building. Bigger steeper and a more rocky base. Would be good to have a winter alternative to Thrunton. Where you all riding? Cheviots are just wet muddy hills at this time of year.

Can’t see anyone riding anything up there for a while yet Matt but know what you mean about getting all cut up. Did you take a look up the crag end? V1/2 etc? Wonder how they are fairing.

Shit loads again in costal North Northumberland.

Mates had snow up to their car windows earlier and its very heavy again now.

Im on the coast so not as bad as a few miles inland.

There is a one near me who seem to keep all the puppies between their click of helpers and only give the old dogs away to new homes. Basically the helpers get first choice.

They still do good work though but your onto nowt if you after a younger dog.

Funny folk in the dog rescue world.

Looking at the radar looks like we may get another beasting soon.

Managed to avoid Alnwick today which was nice but the Amble shops had no bread as the locals set about panic buying.

My family have the butchers in Amble and it does wonders for trade as folk dont bother with driving to sainsburys/Asda etc. More snow required!

To be honest I was like that (now 35 wks) and as its gone on I’m getting more interested. After getting pram delivered and nursery all done I’m a lot more interested and even quite excited.

Filling my time in with as much riding as possible.

Had a 35 wk scan to check placenta yesterday and got a spooky pic of a face which wakes you up to reality somewhat.

We pulled our back boiler out last year and replaced with std combi.

Im now left with a plastered hole but would love a small log burner – do you need a specific pipe/flue up the chimney?

Quite a bit up here. Lying in bed watching a blizzard outside right now. About 2-3″ at the coast so more i imagine inland a bit. Drac how is Alnwick got to go up there later ?

We shouldn’t bother with gritters let everyone just use winter tyres – I know my car is **** useless with 225/40/18 tyres on but because we dont get this often enough its not worth changing.

    That is excellent.
