If anyone is interested or searching for faults in the future. The TF Tuned Damper service kit comes with loads of bits for £21.00.

It contained a damper tube top (outer) and bottom (inner smaller) seal – changing these and new oil has resolved the topping out clunking, lack of rebound and lack of full travel.

The phone insurance through bank accounts gets slated everywhere I read about it.

They fix at non Apple approved places apparently so it invalidates warranty on the device.

Think I will just keep that on repeat for a while.

I have a five – love its geometry and versatility. Built with Coils front and back as a do it all bike. I can do Iners DH lines one day then a cross country mega loop the next.

Its basic and simple and gets the job done.

Think ive found the answer – there was no oil in the damper area. Although there was a load in the lower beneath it.

I will start by trying a seal kit and see if the new o-rings seal it all up. New oil and seals tomorrow so we’ll see soon enough.

It was TF who said the seal kit will be no use. That was my initial plan – service kit and O-ring – apparently if it was the o-ring that was allowing oil through then i wouldnt have full travel – and I appear to have full travel.

i couldnt get my free hub body off so put some 2pence pieces (2x) under the lockring and screwed the lock ring down a few turns this just lifted the body off

But I had the qr axe spacers out at the time.

I normally put the cap in a vice and wobble the wheel side to side whilst pulling on the wheel.
