I have X2 and want M4 as i need more power on the front after an innerleithen uplift day yesterday.

Anyone have an M4 caliper – dont need the levers etc so i cant see point in buying a whole new setup.

Cafe 21 is near the Baltic as is hotel de vin which is apparently quite nice. I’m not really your best guide though as I hate poncey food.

We had Xmas doo at cafe21 you got 1 carrot and one spud on your plate.

Right I think you may need to do a bit more research. Hope make the hubs they are the bits in the middle of the wheel. They are made in England and make that wonderful clicking noise.

Depends on your budget but the five pro is probably the best option for most but after time I bet you upgrade the fork to a 36 (that’s the diameter of the fork) the pro has 32 meaning they are lighter but less stiff. They also have less vertical travel. This can be both good or bad depending on what your riding.

If you say your doing DH do you mean real DH or just trail centres.

Where do you spend the majority of your time riding?

I took a chance and got a 4 recently hoping they will downspec the 4 with the arrival of a new 5 or 4s.

Got the 4 for free and a 5 or 4s on a the same contract would have been about £150 ish from past new release costs.

When the 3gs was top dog it was 16Gb then when the 4 came over that they downgraded the 3gs to 8Gb.

Anyway not really fussed as the 4 is pretty good from my expereinces so far.

An IOS 5 release date would be good – im looking forward to icloud.

From the viseos it looks my perfect event. organised, social, fun but a competitove edge.

If i could afford it Id have my deposit with them asap and would be there on my Five.

The security guard in that second video put in a canny bursy of speed towards the end.

Credit to the good work done by the security guards there.

Actually whilst on this subject. Orange five running double and bash SLX 22-32 with a Blackspire stinger.

Moving to 1×9 as i never use granny ring on the front. Should i just replace the bb mounted stinger and replace it with the BB adapter on a Superstar Plasma guide – and in turn attach backplate to adapter?

Or should i adjust chainline in a way to move the 32 ring in or out? Not sure why I would need to do this though as it works fine as is now with the stinger there.

Walking through Newcastle central station fully lycra’d up is a bit odd – so im thinking when im using the train just go in casual more baggy look on the road bike.

old boat + new sails = cheep win.

Not always the case though. Yep strict OD helps but there’s a reason top guys are using new laser hulls.

Older hull weights increase, flex in boards, rudder pintails move and flex, water take on. Lasers have bother with mast bases etc.

What you will find though is depreciation isn’t too bad. I made 8k on a melges 24 recently excluding running costs though as they were huge.

I’ve spent the last 25 yrs racing (only 30 now) first experience was racing the family 32′ cruiser racer. Move to dinghies at about 12 mostly racing ents with a mate, then into 420 then 470 then fireball and finishing recently in B14’s occasionally.

At the start I did quite a bit in a topper racing but we used to laugh at Oppie kids. Quickly moving to lasers.

I remember the kids winning everything always had good gear. Sorry but old boats are heavy, things break and cost you races. Sails will be great on new boats and top kids will have new ones often. Old sail will be baggy and that creates drag.

the answer is a new boat will probably keep him enthused and hence competitive breeds enthusiasm. Loads of my mates haven’t sailed for years and fell out of it. I never had great gear but generally good stuff and went on to do lots Inc win a euro champs and delivery trips to Gran canaria before being 25.

Whatever you choose he won’t be there long and will be in toppers soon.

I know my way round a mercury/tohatsu 2.5 very well but can’t help you here. Does it have a choke too? Maybe it’s used instead of a choke.

Well chrome is sitting at 164MB but FFox was using 1.2GB and leaks are apparently a known issue with it.

I ditched safari after the mrs kept crashing it browsing Tesco’s site which is another known issue apparently.

Happy with Chrome even though it may be doing evil monitoring stuff in background

I’ll try the separate app for a bit and see how it goes – just a habit of flicking up to the small tab in top left using FFox that i need to kick.

Women don’t always want your solution. Just your support.

My Mrs goes mad with me wanting to fix things when what she really wants is me to sit and just listen to her whine on.

At the stage now where I sit and pretend I’m listening but I’m really checking out STW or random fit birds on twitter!

Lyriks? Coil ones at that – easy to service, dead simple to work on yourself. Plenty of parts available.

I have some and love them.

35mm but great for DH stuff that I occasionally dabble with.

Once I figure out how to share flikr pics from an iPhone I’ll show you my burlyish setup.

33lbs – sunline v1, slx crankset, lyrik coils, fox van rc, stans flows, DH tubes in minions.

Would need heavier tyres for full DH and move to 1×9 with chainguide.

It’s fine for my speed but if you want to gnarl to the max then the head angle maybe a bit steep. That’s what I find anyway.

I was thinking about this the other day – do you think alot of people voted for him as they were happy enough for him to have his turn when they weren’t in power.

Tories make all the cuts – labour sit back and vote this tool in – wait on a few elections – dump Ed and vote David in whilst the public are sick of tories – massive change under another spun “new labour” type bandwagon.

Jobs a good un. They’re back and with a media savy popular leader ’97 all over again.
