It’s all about jobs and the economy though, isn’t it?

Who wants to be leading up the government that says ‘lets cancel the Trident replacement, plenty of jobs going at the new Tesco home delivery warehouse’.

    Well said

Gore Windstopper is what you want with a wicking baselayer.

I have a Santini 365 but it was rather expensive.

Its not the lock i wouldn’t have thought (as in where the key goes in) they are just a barrel that go through the mechanism. Your mechanism will be buggered as mine is.

Remove handles – that will expose a bar between handles – remove that thats where the square hole is in the image below.

Remove all screws in the edge of the door top to bottom – one of the screws (the big hole in the edge on the image below) holds the lock mechanism in place- remove this and pull your barrel out of the keyhole shaped area – this is what your keys turn. This is just a universal part.

You will need to measure the depth of the mechanism area and total length of the strip – also look for any manufacturer markings to help you identify. Then get on ebay and have a look there are loads of them

If you can operate a screwdriver you will have no problem.

ive got a VAN Rc on mine and use it for all sorts inc DH at inners.

Its class but it does steal some of the “zip” or “speed” away on flatter xc singletrack.

On XC routes i feel ive killed some of the spirit of the bike with the coil and coil lyrik. Other times it feels amazing on bigger terrain.

Mine did that – a hard push on handle fixed it sort off. It actaullay broke the lock mechanism.

Still works but hanlde hangs down a tad.

You can replace the whole locking strip – check ebay only 40 quid ish.

Just dont book Holiday Inn at Cramlington/seaton burn its miles out but still called Newcastle – Marriott Gosforth too.

A few independents in Jesmond on Osboune Rd not far from town and an apparently trendy – as im in no way trendy and can never keep up with what is.

Holiday Inn express and Jurys inn off St James Boulevard would be good choices but its in the Gay village (nothing wrong with that of course but prob not your best night out for your situation) just a short walk to the main centre area though.

2 premier inns on Quayside – 1 is quite far east so the best one would be the one under the Tyne Bridge.

Gray St hotel would be good. Thistle opposite Central Station linked above would be a good location for everything near trendy bars but never stayed there – has had loads of work done recently based on scaffolding outside.

PS dont go to Idols or city vault before the game unless your mrs likes pole dancers.

I’m bloody sick or punctures I’ll tell you that much. Ordered a gatorskin as ive had enough.

Some how two tubes have multiple punctures in a small area even though tyre has nothing inside it, all my remaining patches don’t fit and no spare tubes for tomorrows commute.

Hedge cutting is enough to put you off commuting and back into a car.

We’ve tried everything in the past DAP, Drugged to his eyeballs, t-shirts, cages and the best thing seems to be us just leaving him in alone (plus his little cat friend louie).

Been out earlier and we expected carnage when we got back but its better than ever – still not perfect though.

    Hang in there Brad lad…

If you buy Alu you will always think you should have bought carbon. If you buy cheap carbon you will always look at great carbon.

I’d go carbon but probably not chinese ebay stuff.

Just checked one of my latest night rides for you to compare on my garmin page. This was a solo ride.

    Distance: 37.67 mi
    Avg Moving Speed: 18.2 mph
    Elevation Gain: 2,542 ft
    Elevation Loss: 2,541 ft
    Max Speed: 39.8 mph

I would say im in top 10% of my club riders. Not really into anything over 60miles though as it takes too long and I’ve a young family to occupy.
