I grew up with Ckcs, they re great with kids. Grandparents have had 6 and my parents 4. My mother has a 16 yr old one which is very rare.

Friends have 3 and all have developed the brain issues at about 30months. They’re really upset about it. That’s what you get IMO for using epupz!

Problems: kidneys, brain thing, heart mumours, eye issues, skin, bowels.

Although my parents still have one they have moved onto working cockers as they wanted hardier more active dogs. However they both have stomach issues and need special food.

My springer has no issues, 9 eats anything no problem. Probably not as safe with kids but that’s only because he can be excitable and sometimes wants the babies toys so we make sure they aren’t left alone even for a second or two.

i run a ’96 honda civic hatch 1.4 – got it for free.

Insurance isnt that cheap but £200 ish worth of roofrack on it and its now my do it all car. Drove about 160 mile to GT in it recently and it didnt miss a beat.

    Straight through its latest MOT

Granny bought it new, gave it to my mother who passed it on to me – 80k on the clock. Bloody brilliant, ill be buying a honda/Toyota main car in the future for sure.

I have a five with 160 coil lyriks. Its not brilliant on average flat single track as some of the snap and alertness have gone. However at my local woods it’s all very steep, rooty and the lyrik added extra stifness over a fox 32. Lakes big descents are so much better as was inners dh using a 35mm stanchion 160mm.

If its big descents and generally bigger stuff your riding you want the fox 36 but if it’s only a trail centre xc mincing machine get 32’s.

If its 160 you choose try a coil too. They’re ace and also let’s not forget how rad to the max you will look.

If you buy the pro I bet you upgrade to a 160/36 fork maybe you will adjust travel but it’s the lateral stiffness you will crave.

I ended up banned on that very thread. My point wasnt anything sexist at all but on the obvious attempt at protecting and generally creepy behaviour your friend has described there ^

The “big hitters” jumping to protect sue and emsz was a joke.

Might have a spare if you need sx-xc. Get yourself on our intranet on the cardinal trial and you’ll get a new box.

What area are you in? I’m in Operate for my sins.

I’ve quite a few ex-gf’s in my social circles – what i find helps is when they you are there sit thinking about the consequences of what would happen if you went over and said “can you remember that time we ……. in the shower” as an example.

    Then walk away.

I did a skills day at Ft Bill with James Shirley (hes a bit mint on a bike) he was using an Orange Blood. Seemed to like it.

He used it on 4x doing huge jumps, then onto the Red then onto the main DH track. He had it with 36’s on and std rp23 air shock.

However a pitch needs a 160mm coil IMO.

Agree here too – as a trail builder I often have similar arguments with riders. Do you think I actually want to ride gravel hardcore too? No id much rather leave it but riding through a boggy mess just isnt much fun either.

Normally the gravel will bed down and get a bit green growth in it, maybe a bit moss etc. We have some old gravel paths that you dont even notice anymore that now drain perfectly and blend in fine.

Cayards a legend, much more likeable than coutts.

I’ve got a copy of Drum on VHS somewhere but no way to play it 🙁 remember passing her years ago on the Clyde and it was like seeing a failed rock star. Reduced rig and embossed in Arnold Clark livery. Full of corporate monkeys. I was emotional at the thought of this once great machine designed to sail the worlds toughest test pottering around the Clyde. Those Whitbread Maxi’s had souls.

Think we’ve spoken before about melges 24s BB respect for getting to key west we could never afford to take ours anywhere exciting. Once I have more cash and kids grown up I’ll have something similar again. Nothing has really came through to replace them as an international small grand prix type class as yet.

I’ve watched it since being a kid and the old Whitbread event with maxi’s. Poor turnout a sign of the times. Southern ocean legs are spectacles but to a fellow tactician I love the doldrums. When is it safe to make the turn south? Will there be a weather gate?

Will dig out some old videos of steinlager etc from back in the day. They captured my enthusiasm as a kid more so than the machines of today.

Not quite the same in numerical terms of world champs but Ben Ainsle has dominated his class Since 2004 but held an Olympic gold since 2000. Pre dating that is a silver at Atlanta in ’96. He will be there again next year.

Others include Sir Steve Redgrave maybe but also that darts guy springs to mind.

On Slater, I started surfing back in 94 as a 13 yr old and remember him being world champ then. Pretty impressive to still be doing it at that level after all that time 21 yrs as a pro.

They’re are probably a few other golfers with decent stats.

No but at risk of a flaming – i dont buy them but I do put the money in the tin and have a silence at the right time.

I hate the way they are on every TV presenter for weeks before hand just because they are expected to by the public.
