im running a 96 honda civic with 80k on it. Its class

I was looking at an Ares SL. £900 and interest free option.

The normal Ares is quite heavy at 1200g plus fork for a race frame. Apparently the SL is nearer the 950g level but there isnt much details on that and the site shows the non sl data for it.

Does anyone know the service costs for a petrol model?

Hugor I think I agree. It would kill me riding a lesser MTB when I do actually want to.

When I think about it I probably won’t make much selling say the frame and picking up a hardtail frame I’d probably only pocket 400-500 max from that.

The more I think about it going all out for an SL full bike at 3.5k is a bit mad. Even 2.5k SL frame only is eye watering. The standard TCR Adv 2 would be same spec(less wheels) as me just getting a frame and moving road parts over. That would be about 1400 option then keep old frame for winter build.

Current road bike isnt bad – mostly ultegra, Ksyrium elites, just built on a heavy bianchi Via nirone frame. I may just buy the TCR Adv frameset and not SL but move stuff over and keep the five. If later in year im still not using it sell five then.

Keep bianchi frame to use in the winter with my training wheels on.

Its about 25 mins drive but 10 mins fannying on at either end.

also just to add – another issue with these engines is the water pump seizing causing the timing belt to strip.

The place where my car is getting inlet manifold done is busy rebuilding an engine for a 57 plate vectra 150 bhp 1.9cdti with 40k on the clock!

Sorry – but its not clutch release.

Its DMF – Google Dual Mass Flywheel.

My 1.9CDTI Vauxhall had it = new clutch as your in there so may aswell. 6 hrs labour + DMf at 250.

My bill was £900 from a local garage.

Mine started only when cold but developed over a few weeks – in the end it happened when warm but every time the clutch was pressed.

Ive also had 3 alternators, 3 EGR valves and im due the car back after swirl flap failures at £500!

Never buying a vauxhall ever again.

tracknicko – I love watching pro racing and competing at the base level of the sport but for some reason I just dont trust his performances probably just because he has been so strong so far this season.

Ill relax and give him the benefit of the doubt but he just comes across a bit cold and unlikeable compared with someone like Spartacus. Would of loved Flecha to win it but nevermind.
