Quite a long read so this may have already been suggested.

Have you a new insurer selected yet?
If so contact them and ask them to provide x days temp cover for the old car and then pause until the new car is delivered. Ask for this as a condition of cover accept the price may rise for the additional cover but get them to confirm the total cost and record the call in case they ask for admin fees later in the process.

Given reports of smart plugs catching fire I wouldn’t risk pulling 1.5Kw through one

    Try
    Rebooting the router

Lots of great suggestions here but I don’t believe I’ve seen anything about backups. If you’ve 1-2Tb of data stored what’s the impact of a total or partial loss?

Even if you have a raid nas you’re still at risk through multiple disk failures or an enclosure failure, not to mention fire, theft, flood or pestilence.

Loafers, moccasins or driving shoes should be lighter than brogues.

Look at light weight travel suits

Been a few times in Canada ham goes in the slow cooker then it’s off snowboarding and the veggies get done when we get home.

If going at Xmas in Europe consider a resort with a glacier your much more snow sure at ~3000m.
In Austria there are a few, not sure what the options are in other country’s

As others have said, consider lessons in the UK before going to maximise time on the slops.

Consider snowboarding as in my view the learning curve is steeper but you will get the ability to use more or the mountain more quickly, also it’s easier to progress year on year than skiing based on conversations with skiers, boarders and those who do both.

If you all choose the same discipline then when in resort you can consider a private lesson or two, you can use this to tweak technique and get a guide of the slopes, it might also allow you to cut the lift lines.

That time of year I’d look at Zell Am See / Kaprun, and ski the Kitzsteinhorn glacier if snow short on schmittenhöhe.

New cable car goes in this year linking Kaprun directly to the glacier too!

The RNLI’s priority is to provide the very best search and rescue service in the UK and Ireland, but we are also proud to use our expertise, knowledge and influence to help others save lives across the world, particularly in countries where drowning rates are high. Our founder, Sir William Hillary, had the vision that we ‘should extend our views [of drowning prevention] from our own immediate coasts, to the most remote quarters of the globe, and to every neighbouring state’. This remains relevant today.[/QUOTE]

Price it up on wbac and https://www.evanshalshaw.com/sell-your-car/
Describe it accurately and get the prices
Then compare to completed private sales on eBay
Decide if the difference in price is worth taking the private route…

Phone them. Tell them that if they do not want it you will dispose of it. Then you can sell the bits.

On a couple of occasions I’ve had companies say that they didn’t want me to return an item, once when it was big and once when it was tiny and worth little. Makes sense.

That’s the right idea but a phone call’s not worth the paper it’s written on. Email them to leave a paper trail.

I’d suggest the first thing is to perform a virus and malware scans on the devices you use mail on.
Once you are sure you are virus and malware free change your password.
If your chosen mail platform offers 2 factor authentication then use it.

As already said a gen 2 leaf 2013 onward would cover your commute with its 90+ mile range.

Looks like you are doing around 14400 miles a year commuting so at £0.145 per mile you are north of £2k a year in fuel.
A leaf would cost about £0.037 per mile in electricity or ~£530 per year.

Even if you can’t get a gen 2 in your £5k budget with the road tax and fuel savings would you consider upping the budget to get one?

Alternatively if you could get work to consider putting in a charging point or two then the earlier cheaper model could become viable it has a 70 mile range so wouldn’t need much of a top up to ensure you got home.

All of the above are likely to offer more than local jewellers likely less than you’ll realise via c24 but quicker / no escrow etc.

As the papers have been withheld I assume it’s a in demand sports model?

3 pages in is it safe to tell the story of Kiwi Ken?

Back in the early 90’s Kiwi Ken bounced into the office after lunch and asked if anyone wanted a “larnna”?

    A what he was asked.

A “larnna” he says, the fruit and veg stall on London Bridge was doing them. “Four larnna’s for a pound, get ya luvly larnna’s here…” I’ve never had “larnna’s” said Kiwi Ken…

Concept2 really are the answer look out for a second hand one locally.

That said the water rowers could be a cheaper option but not by much I’d suspect.
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR3.TRC1.A0.H0.Xwater+rowing+machine.TRS0&_nkw=water+rowing+machine&_sacat=0

I’ve used water rowers in a few hotels and they are okay but lack the adjustability of the c2 and certainly not as robust.

I’ve got a 2s and use a jam funnel to extend pellet capacity, I can easily make a pizza and load without having to top up the pellets, I check them once a pizza comes out.

You need a ir thermometer to check the oven and stone are up to temp.

There is a app pizzapp+ ? That guides you on dough making ingredient quantities. A Kenwood mixer is helpful in making dough but not essential.

Lastly there are helpful Facebook groups to help you out.
