I thought you could travel in Europe on an expired passport. Its only used as ID. That said yours is still valid. Why is it even a question?

I find the use of “four funnelled, copper bottomed, ocean going, full orchestra playing on the poop deck, thunder c@*t” is universally accepted and applauded throughout the US of A.

First check with your current motor insurer often for the first year they provide new for old if your car is stolen or written off.

We brought a gap policy from http://www.GapInsurance.co.uk that has a maximum payout of £50K with three years of cover for £250. (Other providers are available).

As our current motor insurer offers new for old for the first year we were able to delay the start of our gap insurance for 1 year and now should our car be written off or stolen in the next four years we will be able to buy a equivalent replacement.

Note you can’t normally wait a year and then buy the gap insurance if your motor policy covers the first year, you have to buy the gap asap and defer the start date.

    hth.

I’d add an alarm with a sounder inside the garage too, makes it more uncomfortable for them if they do get in.

has no one pointed out yet that they know where you live and what you smell like now so they’ll be back, perhaps not tomorrow or the day after but stand on me, they’ll be back.

I use a wireless meat probe when smoking or roasting on the bbq, it take the guesswork away and stops having to keep dropping temp to check by hand.

Unless you have an AV amp upstream. That could work.

How would you connect the AVR to the sonos and what would you use the AVR for other than gaining a sub out?

Most reputable car insurance companies will pay out the purchase cost of a new car in the first year, I’d check with yours to see if they do the same. Also check if that covers cars on pcp as you may not “own” it.

Then buy gap insurance for 12 months less than the pcp term from whoever has the best deal within a month of buying the new car and defer the policy start date until the car is one year old.

This saves you a year of gap insurance premiums

There is a bunch of places, watchfinder, blowers, iconic, chrononext, watches.co.uk, chronomaster.
have a look on chrono24 its a sale platform that loads of companies and individuals sell through. Just do some due diligence before purchasing as its not set up with massive buyer protection like ebay, so use a CC or PP

As said there is also tz-uk forum where there is a active sale section, its a 50 post and 60 day membership bar to prevent folk just joining and buying.

Also ebay / gum tree but there are lots of good fakes (and gazillions of rubbish ones) about and box and papers don’t reduce the chances of being fake.

Fwiw I had a set of smiths turbo fans for eight or nine years, never had any issues until this year where I’d left the battery in over the off season and it leaked, I managed to get them working by cleaning the contacts but the died a few days into my trip this year.

Replaced them with a set of fan I/o X and hope to get many years out of them too.

    Dear V8Nighty.

Firstly let me offer an unreserved apology for my behaviour yesterday, living with mummsie can be a trifle challenging and I can find it quite hard to communicate other adults who aren’t still tucked into bed by their Ma-Ma. However that is no excuse.

I’m also very sorry that yesterday was the first time I had left the family home in the last few months and this excess of fresh air caused me to feel slightly dizzy and your assumption that I tried to punch your car was simply an attempt to steady myself lest I fell to the ground.

Regarding the children I do rather think you had the wrong end of the stick, when I said “How would you like me to flash in your kids window?” I obviously meant would you be happy if I conquered my fear of leaving the house, took driving lessons, passed my test and raided dear ma-ma’s pension pot to buy and car and then parked it in your back garden and flashed my lights into the darlings windows as they slept.
I fear you somehow felt I meant something altogether more seedy and sinister.

Please feel free to pop by for a nice cup of pee tea and we can iron out our misunderstandings.

    xxxxx

Bose Quiet Comfort are the gold standard, I had an original set that lasted 6-7 years and were still working when I sold them and replaced them with the current QC25’s. Run with out a battery in non noise canceling mode and has phone mic.

    https://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/headphones/noise-cancelling-headphones/quietcomfort-25-acoustic-noise-cancelling-headphones-for-apple-devices/

also can be had around your budget with some googling.

Have a look at time factors they’re a uk company who provide great vfm and some very interesting watches that might take your fancy.
    http://www.timefactors.com/index.htm

If you do want to go second hand then I find a lot of jewellers can be quite optimistic on price so have a check on chrono24.com to get a view on market price it could be useful as a bargaining tool.
If you want to buy on chrono24 it’s much like eBay in that you need to check out the seller well before buying but has less (no) buyer protection so paying by cc or pp is the way.

“I’m interested in a 6 year-old car which has been on a local dealer’s website for a while”

If it was a deal would it have been on the site for a “while” is the question I’d be asking my self……

    How about a little faultfinding?

How about logging in to the router when it drops?
If you can log in then its not the wifi.
If you can log into the router is the adsl line still connected?
What do the lights on the front show?
If you can’t log in it might be the router or the laptop
Does it happen on all devices or just one?
What happens if your try a hard wired connection rather than wifi?
