Thanks for the help so far.

What about kinetic? Do many of you use it?

It’s unlikely I’ll use the Xbox, it is primarily for the kids. I was thinking just dance and sport games etc. we had a laugh with the wii board.

Also what about Xbox live. Is this only needed for any online games?

Apologies for the noob questions, it’s been a long time since I played games…

I’ve got iPad 1, 3 air and air 2 all still in perfect working order
iPhone 4s and 3GS (3 retired due to coffe incident)
    2011 mbp used 8-10h daily
    Apple TV
Airport express – absolute howling piece of shit
    2011 Mba used daily
Apart from the AE I’ve either been lucky or apple aren’t losing it yet

None of the batteries have needed replacing because they’ve been looked after. I had one incident with the 4s where it started to lose charge rapidly but that was recovered easily.

iPhone 6 inbound so will be able to comment on that after a couple of years.

Ie11 come with w10 and can be used instead of edge.

I’ve got it running in a vm on a 2011 mbp. I’m using ie11 for siebel stuff

Go to find type Internet explorer and pin to start.

I’m using the full version not the upgrade

So this thread is making me sad about buying a petrol mower but I hate cables.. Any one had any experience with cordless?

    POSTED 2 HOURS AGO #

One of my mowers is a Bosch li ion that I think is on its 3rd year now. It’s been flawless. I use it on the small lawns. It can’t handle long grass as the cut out will kick in but for a light weight, average size garden it’s perfect. It’s great not having cables to mess about with.

I’ve had 7s and ultimates, both were good and received little attention. My 7s were better than the ultimates and required less attention.

It’s been working here well. No issues with the UI etc.

Spotify P is at 320k I think whereas Apple is only 256.

I like the idea of a family sub for £15 so may renew.

Is it possible to install older browsers? Ie10?

Ie11 is installed as well as edge

    Apply.

No idea your age or cv so can’t say whether it’s a good move or not but do not forget your package is negotiable. They like you as they’ve asked you to put yourself forward for it so if you get to the negotiating the package stage, calculate your costs and negotiate a package that covers those and leaves you well compensated on top.

Alternatively, if the role is not great for your overall career ambitions you may not want the hassle. Work is not everything. Balance is a great thing to aim for. You will not be on your death bed regretting not working harder ;)

If you go to Hythe you can go in the model railway to dymchurch. Or you could go to dymchurch for cheesey seaside amusements and rides
If you go to capel for the memorial there’s a cafe nearby overlooking the sea. Very near to capel is the Battle of Britain museum in hawkinge.

I can’t add much but will say they were stacking from j8 yesterday and the a2 was congested in parts but not too bad.

You need to check whether the a20 entrance is closed. If it is, you’ll prob need to join stack and queue?

I’m local so try to avoid the traffic rather than see where it’s going.

The war and peace rally is on so avoid the a20 between Folkestone and ashford as this will be congested due to that and stack.

I’ve got the bigger Bosch li ion one. Had it for about 5 or so years and it’s been faultless. Very light and easy to use. I’ve never run the battery out cutting about 25m of hedge, top and both sides then pruning various bushes.
Will be planting about 150m of hedging this winter so am watching this thread with interest

Nice tat – when’s your next session?

I couldn’t tolerate the cling film for more than the first overnight. Similar length sessions.
The next week I wash 3-4 times a day and use bep. After that it’s e45 till the tub has gone.

Factor 50 if in short sleeves from April – October and I wear long sleeves if I’m going to be in the sun for a long time. Night time a nice coconut moisturiser most nights. A nice moisturiser brings out the colour and makes it look fresh :)

Al – what are you looking for? I have Jap artwork on my skin but none hanging on the walls. I just really like the colour, detail and shading like with yim’s Hokusai waves

Quite impressed with home hub 5 so far. I seem to have nearly 80 megasmurfs down and 20 up.
I use a van for work and it’s been great so far.

Apart from quicker downloads etc voice and vid calls seem to be a lot better than on the old service.

I’ve been running Hutchinson Intensive on Ultegra wheels for a couple of years and have had only two punctures that needed attention. One was fixed roadside with a worm, one I limped home on. The worm held for months before I needed to unseat the tyre and fix with a patch

They seem to be pretty tough – I’m running around 80-90 PSI and weigh about 81Kg

Most of my riding is done on country lanes so plenty of sharp things, pointy things and pot holes.

Edit – Acycles is where I get my tyres from

I use a fizik one as it works with their saddles and can swap bikes easily.

Carry Alien, 2 co2 and chuck and a tubless repai kit with a power link and spare core inside. Same pack for road/off-road

Thanks for that – didn’t realise I could get their extra slim in a 37 sleeve with a 15.5 collar.

I’ve ordered 4 and will see how they fit. If ok, I’ll keep them, if not will send them back and go tailored. The tailored option cost doesn’t bother me as long as fit and quality justify the cost :)

Now I just need to get my suits adjusted ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve got a couple of TOm Pink shirts and they wore well, TM Lewin fit well, haven’t lasted as well and don’t do a longer sleeve in my size :( Tyrwhitt I’ve not tried yet.

For Thomas pink money I can buy tailored which is what got me thinking. Next suit will def be tailored as I’ve lost a few kg :)

Tm lewin only provide extra length from 16.5 collar from what I could see earlier.
    I’m 15.5 and about 6′ 3.5″ and would like to try a 37″ sleeve rather than a standard 36″

I’ll look into some of the options, thanks all. I’ll have to focus on prevention/deterrence as I can’t eliminate the foxes due to location and neighbours.

Ours would have to have names I’m afraid, the kids will see to that :)

Slight high jack. I’d like to keep chickens but first off want to understand whether it’s better to keep them close to the house (and battle rats) or far from the house and battle foxes?

If I were to dig the wire in 12″ and wire the top, what are the chances of a fox making it into the run? Inside the run would be their coop which I would shut them in to at night.

Foxes pass through my garden multiple times a day :(

Also; and this is on the off chance, but would rabbits and chickens co exist peacefully if I made one huge run?

I have an Al-ko t92 and would recommend

On the smaller lawns I have a qualcast cylinder mower or I use a cordless rotak.

I’ve bought a few guitars, amps and wot not online. Thoman, and andertons, guitar guitar and others. Not had a bad experience with any of them.

My LP came from andertons, came setup well but had a prob with the neck pup. They replaced it the next day shipping out the replacement and collecting the old one. Great service. Give em a call and they’ll set it up how you want it. All I did to the replacement was drop the action a smidge.

Thanks for the tips. I’ve downloaded sketchup but think the tracing paper idea is probably where it’s at. Think I’ll join some graph paper together so I can increase the scale to make it easier.

Been using it for a couple of years now. Originally signed up to upscale some old MP3s but have stuck with it as a great way of sharing my lib on idevices with limited mem. The £20ish cost pa is more than offset by not needing more men in the idevice.

Being Apple its not entirely without the odd issue but nothing insurmountable and I’m happy to renew for another year.

Given the amount of labour that goes into a proper parquet floor, what’s an approx price to expect to pay per sq m?
Labour only or labour and oak tiles and associated base, treatments etc. would be great if you could. I’d like to get an idea on viability :)
House is modern, concrete floor afaik

I’ve had a bosch li ion hedge trimmer for quite some time that does the job well. I think it’s about 50″, probably 5+ years and used to cut about 20m+ hedge twice yearly. Light, cuts well and very easy to use.

that was at the old house. Just moved and plan on planting a new hedge (to be decided) that’ll be about 50-60m so will be an interesting test :)

I’ve had 2 cars now that allegedly contain dpfs (f20 and f25). The car does lots of school runs and the odd motorway run.

I have never once noticed this dpf regen thing you mention.

I’m now close or maybe just below the break even point for petrol v diesel but prefer the way this engine feels to its equivalent petrol.

I used a 1 series as a family car for a couple of years (f20) and had no issues with fitting wife, 2 kids and luggage for a weeks holiday in it. Depends how strict you are with packing I guess or you will need a roof box.

It’s not far off the old golf size but was nicer to drive and better specced for the cash (this was in 2011).
I fitted winter tyres on it and it was fantastic in the snow

On the motorway its great for a car of its size, the wheelbase is decent so comfy and stable and good fun to drive.

MPG was very decent round town and great on longer journeys. Road tax was £30 ish pa (118d)

X1 is slightly bigger or look at a 3-series if you need more space. I didn’t think the jump from 1 to 3 series was worth it and wanted something higher (and auto) so went for an X3

I used to have an issue with a lot of cats and foxes.

Found that cat repellant from b&q along with peeing in various spots worked very well.. Went from about 3 per 24h to 1 per week. Also chase the buggers if you see them. If particularly vindictive wait till the bomb doors open then chase them. They hate being interrupted mid bombing run.

since moving I now just have foxes to worry about. I’m handing over territorial duties to the new pup so at last no longer needing to pee in the garden :)

(Nb – pee into bottle for front lawn. Neighbours do not think windmills are amusing)

As you’ve got run flats I’d recommend a 12v compressor over a spare wheel or gunk. Just checking – you do know run flats are designed to be run flat for up to 50 miles below 50 mph?

The compressor is in case it’s a slow one, you can stop in safety, top up, reset the sensor and limp to the garage hoping the tyre can be repaired.

If you run it flat or apply gunk a repair is unlikely. A sidewall isn’t repairable so I’d have just run it flat to the garage and binned it.

I wouldn’t want a spare wheel or gunk these days as I don’t have to worry about changing the wheel or filling with gunk in a dark or dangerous scenario (or my wife etc). Can just slow down and resolve the issue in safety if the sensor pings.

I don’t have anyone backed onto my garden, and it’s about 75m long.

Keen not to pay for a sparky so was thinking of running the cable into an ip65/66 junction box the run a length of cable to a plug socket. Looks fairly similar to footflaps daisy chaining.

Do the seals come with the junction boxes or do you buy them as extras?

Long term, I’ll probably run an armoured cable down the garden for lighting but that’s a way down the list

(Apologies for the slight high jack)

Spooky – I’ve just joined the mutt club too and was going to ask what the stw insurer of choice is?

op – an alternative is to put the money to one side each month. There are a few n here that have had long term meds, or expensive injuries that insurance has covered. There will of course be those that have had no issues too. It’s pot luck.

I guess the other reason for insurance would be if you wanted 3P liability cover too I guess. It’s going to come down to whether you want to pay monthly or are happy with a potential unknown and possibly large bill. I haven’t decided yet either
