I like Oslo but was staying in a hotel and had meals etc expensed. Had to buy my own beer and yes it is more expensive, but I don’t recall it being more than Sweden and maybe also Denmark. You could perhaps drink a little less?

Lovely city, nice people, I’d happily work there again. I wouldn’t live there but that is because I like it here…

If your long term living there, learn the lingo. There’s a nice young lady giving lessons on youtoob iirc.

I’ve had mine over a year and they’ve been solid. Stiff, work well and reliable. Id buy the same again.

XMM120s here. Over a year in, well ridden and still going fine. There’s some good deals to be had if you shop around.

I’d buy the same again if I needed to.

tldr – chill, it could be innocent enough. The boss may have asked to be in CC or the boss needed to be aware.

CC is for info only, To: is for action or people directly involved.

    School boy error ;)

I think you’re most likely screwed. You might not get pulled on it but if it’s been read, it will be noted. Chances are your boss will have a mobile device which almost certainly guarantees it I’m afraid.

Always better to write and delete, never send it :)

Yeah, lets not get this into a win v mac debate folks, each OS has its pros and cons :)

Thx for the feedback – I’m not going to rush into buying or installing AV; need to do more reading.

For some reason I thought the app store had everything I needed and I wouldn’t need to dl from external sites – I guess that’s because my only exposure to date has been iPhone/ipad….

Interestingly I’m in the process of downloading office 2011 mac to my PC as downloading to my mbp stalls after 20MB….

    Ok, thx for the feedback.

What do you do about AV? I’d like to have some installed. Nod32 is excellent on the pc

I broke my watch recently and sent it here for repair and service – http://www.chealwatch.com/.

Excellent service and reasonably priced.. You could look up the model you are interested in to get an idea of what a non manufacturer service will cost.

Edit: OP look for an alternative if you can. I’d disagree with specialknees – sea masters are very very common, very ripped off and come with a cheaper quartz movement. If you are going to shell out for a nice watch, try not to buy the default safe option that lots of people are wearing.

It’s someone’s pet – try and find the owner. If it has no collar put posters up and see a vet to check to see if it’s been chipped. People, especially young kids, get attached to those things so please think of the children :)

I read the wording in the letter as being if either parent earns over £60k and it is claimed it is all recouped via the SA..

The ride section used to be good as were some of the ramblings. The news section is still good.

The redesign didn’t help IMO, and it’s never good to see an ego implosion result in a banning or a flouncing (Dylan and JohnG spring to mind as examples). At least the bans there are not permanent. Although at time some of the recent folk on here who where smited by the hammer of ban could be annoying it’d be nice to see them back. It’s easy to deal with annoying by not reading……

Just read that google music launched in the uk. I think that offers a similar service to iTunes match for free. You may be able to use that as part of a solution by reimporting your music into iTunes after google music has processed it and removed the dups. (I’m assuming you “need” iTunes).

    CaptainSlow

I had the same issue and spent time looking for solutions.

In the end I decided the least risk “solution” was to sign up for itunes Match as I wanted some of my older MP3s uprated and wanted a streaming service where I owned the content after paying for it.

Backed up my music. Signed up for itunes Match, let it “match” everything then deleted my entire library. (NOTE IF YOU DO THIS FFS REMEMBER THE BACKUP FIRST).
Then I spent a good day or so downloading my entire library and basked in my smugness at no longer having duplicates…..

My smugness was however shortlived; many of the songs cut out after 30 secs….FFS! aaaargh! iTunes really is utter shit :)

Anyhow, after researching the issue I then deleted my entire library again. I disabled concurrrent downloads and forced it to download one track at a time.
I’m happy to report my library plays as it should now. £20-odd, many hours and barely a hair left……

The above sorted my library on my PC but on my iPads/iPhones I’ve gone back to syncing using iTunes as the downloads to the iPads also suffered the 30sec problem (unless you stream the album first).

Hope that helps OP – if you’re willing to punt another £20 at the problem – just remember to turn off auto renew….

I can add Fulcrum to the recommendation list.

Either red metal or red power (or whatever their AM wheels are called).

Often can be found for a good price and a credible alternative to Mavic ST/SX or DT 240s

I had a tassimo to start with and gave it away. I’ve now got a nespresso and am very happy with it.

I’ve got the one with the milk attachment and can do coffee, espresso, latte and macchiato.

The upside of the tassimo is that you can buy the capsules in some supermarkets (limited range). IMO the hassle of ordering capsules online is low but the consistency and taste of the nespresso makes it worthwhile.

For the first couple of months of ownership, I was a bit “all hail cornholio” and “I need bung hole for my tee pee” (off my tits on espresso in case you didnt get the Beavis and Butthead reference). After owning it for a year I probably use once per day on average. Coffee cost is about 30p a go.

What sort of music will you be playing op?

Some good suggestions so far. I’d add Jackson and ibanez though to your considerations, both do cheaper guitars that are well built.
Whatever you buy, you may want to have a set up done on the guitar which should cost <£30 and will improve how the guitar feels.

Once you’ve made the decision to stop you won’t need to mtfu or use will power. The challenge is making the decision to stop, it is then just a case of not going back on that decision. Ever. If you do it right, you won’t miss it – quite the opposite.

Find the method that works for you – hypnotherapy, nrt, mtfu or Allan Carr..or a variation of them all.

You are the only person responsible for your smoking and it is entirely within your control as to whether you do it or not.

If I’m going for the fusion I’d be a 2012 from wiggle (same for the alp-x but I think that’s 2013 as its AS). Both have 10% off and there’s an extra 10-20% off if you pass the £200 barrier so will probably get some alp-x wind proof gloves while I’m at it.

My old jacket is event and that’s a good fabric but I want something that packs smaller with the intention of using my wind proof phantom more.

Is it possible tu put the sleeves up a bit to expose your lower arm for cooling or are they very slim fit?

Thx – is there much difference in size between the fusion and alp-x in terms of packing them down to put in a camelback or jersey pocket?
The appeal of the fusion is that it may fit in a jersey pocket. The appeal of the alp-x is that it has more pockets…

I think the fusion also has a hood but it’s a stow away jobbie

If you are worried about storage space for movies on an iPad get the CCK:

    http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57401068-285/secrets-of-the-ipad-camera-connection-kit/

I’ve a 32 GB pad and had no issues. One other recommendation I have is that you DO NOT USE iTunes Match to save space. The number of incomplete downloads from the service is appalling – it has trashed my iTunes library and I’m going to have to rebuild it unless I can find an alternative solution. Auto renew is most definitely OFF on this service… 1/5 would be a generous review from my experience.

Anyone here using 24/38 with 11-34? or 22/36 with 11-32?
Running 9 speed here and amy try 2×9 when I need some new cogs.

i want to keep the granny ring as a bail out or for short steep muddy climbs.

Dont really want to go 10 speed as it’ll mean new shifters n rear mech as well.

Thanks folks – enjoying the discussion on filters :)

I wimped it on the card front and bought 2 x 16 GB 45MSs cards.
Also bought a filter while I was at it – a Hoya Haze UV type. I’ll ask the missus to do some before and after snaps for comparison but I like the idea of protecting the lens….
The lens hood and strap that came with the kit are attached
Also bought the CCK for the iPad as I can also use it to boost the storage and load some movies (or so the Internet tells me).

Are manfrotto bags any good? Seen a courier one that looks quite good and not to much like a camera bag.

Been out with the camera today, I was even allowed a go!

On full auto it is a lot better than the TZ10 we were using, with some of the pre-programmed settings it was simply Awesome :)
The context based help is proving useful.

I think I’ll get a book and a new lens on the Christmas list for her – something fixed lens and low light like a 35 f1.8 Thanks again for all the useful info

The lens came with a thingy that I’ve put on the end of it and I’ve told the daft bint to be careful. It must have fallen on deaf ears though as while trying to stalk a spider for that ultimate shot the flimsy rotten wooden bucket she was stood on gave out and there’s now a small scratch on the casing….

Lucky nothing more than cosmetic damage done….

At what point am I allowed to laugh?

    Thanks for the input folks.

From my research (incl) Ken’s site I get the feeling I’m better off maybe going for something like the Nikon D5100 or Eos 550/600 and using a dedicated camcorder for the video due to speed of auto focus (amongst other things).

Will checkout the other options suggested as well.

There really isn’t much in it from what I can see from an equipment perspective – it’d be hard to pick a dud. It boils down to the person taking the shots so of I can, I’d like to keep it <£500.

2012 version here – had lots of mud n water on it and a fat bastid perched on top.

Perhaps folk are not using carbon paste and over tightening the seat collar?

Vorlich – depending on how heavy you are 25 psi may not be much. It may not take much air loss for the tyre to be at a pressure low enough to burp. Sounds to me like more of burp than a blow off but please don’t let my comments dissuade you from buying some new rubber ;)

I run mine at about 35psi and under some circumstances will burp at (est) 30psi.

Get yourself some co2 canisters as they’ll ensure you get the bead seated on the trail. I carry these and the weldite repair strips. Only on longer rides do I bother taking a tube – I’ve not needed one since buying the strips.
