I think the idea is good but the lumie is terrible, not rempotely straightforward to use and keeps you awake with a bright blue light if you haven’t set the alarm. Not tried any others but I was thining of just getting a timer light switch instead. You can even get smartphone controlled light bulbs for cheaper than the lumie, I’m sure you could set these up to give the same effect.

Ground source sounds good for you. Air source does not often stack up when compared to gas, but if you are off grid it may work. The problem you will have with any heat pump is that you can’t heat hot water with it, at least, you get very poor efficiencies over about 45 degrees.

I would argue that you may not need hw over 45C but the problem is that this temperature will grow legionella so the useable water cannot be stored at this temperature. However, you could use a large cylinder as a thermal store/buffer vessel for the GSHP and run cold water through a coil/heat exchanger in the tank to effect an instantaneous water heater. Connect the tank to a solar thermal system and you probably have a decent integrated hw and heating system. There ids a company that makes suitable tanks but I forget the name, will try to find out

Nothing required, remove the lowers and iirc there will be a few black spacers on one of the lower rods, just take one or two off.

Just got back, that sounds about right, I could only bear about an hour of it. It’s basically a series of narrow straight lines connected by tight corners with a gravelly topping and what I can only describe as speed bumps and “technical” sections with lumps of concrete embedded. The blacks have a few rollable drops which would concern beginners but that’s about it. Pretty lacking in fun tbh, it’s difficult to see who it would appeal to (needless to say I was the only one there).

It’s a real shame, as there have been some decent traisl built in small spaces. The actual XC course in be fleet has significantly more longevity I think.

I won’t be bothering again (the bmx track and velodrome look great though!)

ok, think my bushings have all been worn out then as they’ve always been very hard to move!

My experience is that they will squirm a bit, and likelihood of tire rolling off is increased, so you won’t be able to run at low pressures

Great, thanks, this is what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the vid northwind, gave me some confidence, maybe I’ll even go down a few times!

I haven’t, but I will try, when I previously spoke to them they weren’t very helpful as they had stopped doing the big speakers

Yeah I remember that from a previous thread! Can’t see any problems with the wiring on the woofer, but then I haven’t taken it apart (have not taken the magnet off or anything, is it possible to do that?

Looks like I’ll be shelling out for a new driver anyway

Thanks, very useful. Yeah it is a scan-speak, I have found a replacement though at the moment it seems he will only sell a pair which is prohibitively expensive. It is a bit painful getting to the crossover but I have looked at the one with the faulty driver, there is nothing visibly bad, caps all look ok from the outside (they appear to be Ruark branded) and the resistors also fine. No blown caps or burn marks.

    Thanks, which do you have?

Any idea what the chances are that a faulty amp would have done it? It’s a bel cano pre3 and s300 power if that helps!

Thanks, though it might be due to caps but couldn’t remember enough of school. Surprisingly little I can find on the net considering the geekyness of the subject

Ok, how about this one, which is cheaper!

Transit Custom Crew Van 6x seater

I didn’t even realise there was a bike park! Is this an unofficial one hence knocked down?

    captaindanger

Yeah I don’t think that is true actually, it depends on what tyre you are running, but they are fairly similar in mass terms.

Simple way to I see the benefit though, if you stand with your legs apart you are in a far more stable position than with your feet together, it’s the same principal with the tyre.

I was fairly well sold on the wider rims after reading this

that Ramin looks like just the ticket. It’s for a friend and his only bike otherwise I’d also recommend SS. For some reason the majority off rigid 29ers are single speed, clearly going for the niche market there

    Did cynic-al design the cl30s?

    captaindanger

I just bough a secondhand pair of massive Ruark cl30, they are huge but great, the deep bass is really noticeable. Running with a creek ego amp. Some stuff sounds a bit cluttered and messy, not sure if that’s down to recording or the system though (or perhaps my room which needs a bit of damping)

Having tried some more budget rims I’ve gone stans on every wheel now, I’d save up and get some flow ex, they just do the job really well and make tubeless a doddle.

I use motor oil which is fine, anything that lubricates will work but something which won’t harden is my preference. I’ve not built with cx rays but I’d imagine they’re a bit more difficult than the more solid spokes, that said you’ll be able to tell if they are twisting do perhaps not so bad. I highly recommend the book from wheelpro. My dt swiss nipples have a funnel shape at the top, not sure about any others
