I rode with mine a few weeks ago in the pouring rain. I had the summer inners and they still stayed pretty dry for about an hour, at which point everything became waterlogged (not just my shoes). They dried out in a day.

They are comfortable and the relatively thin sole helps keep your ankle closer to the pedal which is very important imo. I have wide feet and had to size up, but did not have too much difficulty getting into them.

Grip is as mentioned above, not as sticky as stealth but enough that my feet didn’t slip, and the tread on the toe means you don’t skate around when walking in mud.

I’m pretty pleased so far, but will have to wait to see how durable they are.

DJ thanks that looks great. How long do you expect for that day 1? We’re pretty quick but not racers…

Yeah that was my concern, skinny road type wall thicknesses.

I like the look of this

Though the south of Sweden looks dead flat too. I’ll have to keep looking, or take up cyclocross.

It’s a griffon vulture, they were re-introduced into some areas of France around 30 years ago and have done very well, I haven’t seen them in the Alps before but have no doubt they are there. Amazing to see them. Lammergeiers would only be in very very remote areas

As a few people have alluded to, migration is normal and required especially for an ageing population like ours. The majority of negative accusations thrown at it are debunked when actual real factual data is looked at. There is a really good article about it here
    https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg23030680-700-the-truth-about-migration-how-it-will-reshape-our-world/
If we just accept it, accept the money that migration brings us and use it to improve the country, all our “problems” with it would go away.

+1 for Yamaha, always been really inpredsed by their audio stuff. I listen to the dalis a few years ago and ended up spending a bit more on some Kef, iQ I think

No experience of these specific ones but the build quality in my experience has been good. The ss rims I had also worked fine!

If you are new to RJD2 though start off with deadringer and work in chronological order, like shadow his newer stuff is not the same.

I’ll look forward to the new shadow, but don’t expect much!

The heat recovery will do the same as a small extract fan (Ie a lot less than a proper hood) but should deal with any moisture issues. Make sure you get a humidity sensor on it so it doesn’t run when not required. It will not pay for itself when compared to opening windows foe a couple of mins during or after cooking though, so I would probably just do that

Same as riding individual berms, you just need to be very quick at flipping the bike side to side and keep looking at your exits

According to some, and there seem to be some pretty good arguments for it, 145 for an average person. Clearly the ~5% variation readily available is not reflective of the range of leg lengths in the human population. I am taller but plan on getting some 160/165 to try out….

I just got a larger mavic one. It’s expensive and I haven’t used it yet, but certainly looks the part. Much better to access things than the camelback I had, lots of pockets etc. Feels very stable, but I’ll update tomorrow after I’ve used it…

Partly cos they are green. Also like the integrated mudguard and feel like there needs to be a bit more competition in the market. Fox I dislike due to their overpricing and ridiculous service intervals.

Boring, but a heart rate monitor is a very good way. eg you set an alarm if your HR goes over a certain value, and you know you only have 10 mins above that threshold in the day
