I have an argon fr and love it, it’s one of those bikes that everyone who tries it instantly enjoys it and comments on the tracking, even when they’ve never heard of nicolai. Dunno about knolly but you won’t be disappointed with a nic. My mouse finger is hovering over an ac at the moment…..

I rode the ust snakeskin in the alps for a week, was new on and by the end was def looking the worse for wear, no knobs ripped off but most were in a bit of a state and fairly ripped up. I did drag the back brake a fair bit though!

Vinegar works, soak it in a diluted solution for 10 mins before washing

nobody uses 3×9 any more, have you not been on this forum for the last year!

Jokes aside there are benefits, it’s really how you use gears (changing the rear regularly but the front rarely), aand it looks cleaner/better, there are other supposed benefits but not particularly relevant to you on a hard tail.

Yeah, I saw something that had a similar weather forecast, it varies considerably with website. One says 27C and sunny on Friday!

Great, thanks for the help. It looks like he’s actually got Avoriaz, and we’re staying in Morzine, so we should be able to drive that bit and all start together anyway.

Anyone know if the extra bit is worth doing?

“they won’t check, pick up your number when you get to chatel.”

So he’ll be able to ride with us from LG without number etc and pick it up when we get to chatel?

Worth doing if you want to keep it no?

I wore SPDs for 15 years and stayed firmly planted on the ground, changed to flats and I’ve got soooo much better since then.

though that said the eskars are pretty knobbly so i wouldn’t expect high rollers to grip more, particularly if worn

    captaindanger

yes more grip at the front, and fatter tyre at the front

erm, thanks chaps. General consensus (as if such a thing is possible on internet forums) is that saddle is a bit higher than bars. That’ll do for me, and is how I generally have it set up!

Etape hotels if you’re feeling plush, 45 euros per night perhaps rather than 25 for f1, but you get breakfast and they’re far more comfortable/less prison like. There are loads.

saw crisp at Bespoked last weekend, they are amazing. Baum are beautiful too. Bit different but Ricky Feather made the best looking bikes in the show for me, I think one was stainless.

His book is brilliant, really good read and very interesting. The wiggins millar spat is silly but I’m sure they both have their reasons, he does talk about it in the book.

    Honey (unless you eat it)

Not sure about Brooks though, mine seems to be requiring a lot of tightening. That said you can get them re-covered when hthe leather wears out, which is half the same thing.

Get a brooks, shop around, sjs sometimes have them a bit cheap, but think of it as an investment!

Element Nickel. Very stiff and nice shape. Shiny silver is best. I have them in silver and black.

napoleon dynamite and spinal tap, both incredible and highly quotable, but not to everyone’s taste. Though they don’t sit well with your other fave’s!

I think there are too many bikes and too much variation in how they’re measured

looks like your weight will be a bit far back, might need an inline seatpost.
