Thanks chaps. I can’t find a power supply for less than £40 so think The amps may be destined for the shelf for a bit longer, and I’ll get a ready made pi amp

Or is it that I have not provided a negative supply voltage?

Page 6 of the data sheet is about the mute and standby, do I need to close both of these for operation? If so that may be the problem, I did try shorting each but only one at a time

Why would they put a direction arrow on if they were better the other way?

It will only discharge for 15 mins or so every other day, so quite unlikely to freeze

Ok so I got some new batteries, take much longer to charge and work for 30 mins, then the light gets dimmer and simmer until it’s almost off! Why does that happen, shouldn’t the light itself switch off instead of getting dimmer? Wish I’d bought something reputable now!

Thanks chaps, yep appeared to be unbalanced battery, replacements work fine. I will try to work through them to find the defective ones and keep the rest!

    7.85V fully charged no load

@smudge I tested with the lights on, and bought the 18650 cells plus waterproof box to put them in. The originals were spot welded so probably not great.

The 18650 batteries are 3.7V so why not 7.4V at max output? They are 3 in series 2 parallel as you suggest

Thanks for the responses. The 18650 batteries are 3.7V so why not 7.4V at max output?

I’m a bit out of date as I did it 20 years ago, but I would consider further maths too only if it was a 4th a-level, in which case she could continue with photography. Thing is photography won’t really be useful as many people will be good at it without the a-level.

Further maths is really hard, but it means if she does something like engineering, the maths there, which is less thoroughly taught at university, will basically be revision.

Also solovair worth a look, I’ve had a pair for a few years so can’t vouch for longevity but they are lovely and look very well made

Solovair or DMs, DM are basically cheap Chinese versions of solovair. They’re very comfortable.

I haven’t tried it but don’t understand the physics, as they’re both combining at the crossover anyway. I doubt people could tell the difference in a blind test

Ran over one at the local pump track, it ran straight under my back wheel on a hard tail. Not pretty :(

haha! Didn’t realise they were back. Still, I’d rather not support trump’s economy if I can help it…..

If you get past the few days it gets a lot easier, to the point at which you stop liking it if you try it again. Knowing this might help! Also agree with the above re dark chocolate, even 100% which Montezuma do, takes a bit of getting used to mind!

I wouldn’t use acetone (nail varnish remover), it will remove powder coat and probably the carbon finish

If you’re  in London I can lend you some. They possible make some of it easier but as above probably not entirely necessary.

I’m not sure the above is true but have not tried it, I am pretty sure you can use it as gps without the phone, but you are a bit limited in what you can input into it, ie preset the route only.

Better to take the front wheel off I think? But then it’s a bit awkward to hang off a wall.

Not tried these but had some large Schwalbe marathon, really heavy and there’s no benefit in the extra volume unless all your riding is over cobbles or potholes

I bought one, accidentally, I’d buy one again (for a special treat though). It is delicious

Might just be the length of pipe from the cylinder, water is cooling down. Trace heat and insulated pipes if this is the case.

Great, thanks. Yeah I was disappointed not to have been able to do it. Hopefully there will be another!

Don’t do it, buy a split system air conditioner if you really need it. Or solar control glazing:better window openings/external shutters

Good point about overheating but I have a solution. I was thinking side opening so you could fit a workbench and load of tools in there, open it out to work.

Green roof on on the top and wooden or similar cladding would help avoid overheating, and make it look more acceptable

I think you are right, but the difference will be small. Do you get the same bob when sitting down and pedalling hard? If not it is probably just your body mass moving rather than squat. I think.

SBC cycles in London also selling them, I am pretty sure they have a vendetta, if you’re east give them a try.

Did want to put a narrow-wide on my existing, its 130BCD and only appears that absoluteblack do a suitable ring (for £60) but I don’t think a larger ring is going to fit on the inner of my chainset due to stay clearance, and the chainline doesn’t look great on the outer
