That looks like a lot of fun, congratulations! Report back in a while and give us a review?

@MTBGuiding that route around the black mountains was awesome, great fun ride, what a classic! I’ve done sections of it before but it was great the way it linked together. The views and variety made it a top ride.

I can heartily recommend the Wales vertebrae book too, we’ve used Southern and Mid Wales routes in there previously and are planning a return to North Wales to nail couple more next month.

We rode the Gap ride the day after, and I can report that the overgrown bridleway really wasn’t too bad, someone has done some cutting back down there. It was a very good ride for a second day of a cracking weeks riding in Wales.

Talk to them, if possible find the people who actually process the payments and find out where the holdup is in the process. A little human interaction goes a long way.

Check the small print carefully, ask them what is covered and at what altitude? Over previous years I’ve had things quoted that either had an altitude ceiling for coverage or discounted the use of “vertical paths”!

Seek clarification if unsure before you go?

Best place to look for comparisons is the Evoc website, I have to say after using mine for its first ride yesterday I’m pressed by the stability and features of the bag.

I went for a trail bag, as they seemed to have more space, er Depth, in them. Be wary of the length of the back protector, at 6ft3 I found the XL one caused too much interference with helmet so I went for a M/L bag instead.

I’d love to know how many people of this lovely parish donate blood regularly?

What chance we could do something as a survey one week? a Yes/No and reasons why not too?

Ben – thank you for the info.

Mr C – I can’t speak with expertise in this field but I’d be amazed if you have already received a VAT number with a “few weeks”?

Also I’d look at the options to leave it as a dormant company, it shouldn’t attract any Accountants fees if its receiving no income?

    Good luck.

It seems to me, there are many approaches to Yoga, some more full of mystical hoodo than others, I’ve been doing Iyengar for years and it’s helps me a heck of a lot, always worth sampling a few different types before any conclusions. I’m lucky I have an excellent instructor.
    YMMV.

Guys, you need a good group to get through that, I’d suggest looking at the

For the best advice, of what is best for what you require I’d suggest a decent local bike shop where they can spend an hour going through the options with them and get you the best fit in terms of bike and sizing. Buy from them if you find a good one.Where abouts are you?

It might cost a little more in initial headline costs butit will be worth it once you start looking at gear to wear, and stuff for the bike as you get enthused again.

Some Evans shop folk I’ve met have been very knowledgeable, but as with all shops if you can find a quieter time you’ll get a more informative and better response?

They might be robust but post crash finding/relocation can be easier with a yellow/red/green etc case.

Its the screen that gets the most damage IMO.

Wool – last time I was in Ford, there was a lovely route over the old drovers road to Auchendrain, a lovely technical climb and descent and decent views all the way. Best to check with some more local knowledge though, it’s been too long since I was last there.

There are plenty of tracks around there, I don’t have any details though as I was following a local in holiday mode……

Rick – loving your “work” there, looks like a smashing weekend, those coloured floaters would spin heads through 360 degrees?

Hans Dampf SG worked well for me on the Rear in Alps a couple of weeks ago, and the surprising good Mavic Quest tyre on the front. Both tubeless and not a squeak of a problem all week.

    Enjoy the Alps.

Talk to Garmin UK support – their details are out there somewhere on the Internet. They can give you a definitive answer.

I think this is a pretty useful review, but the decision is, of course, your own…

    Or more worryingly….

“After fledging, the chicks spend the first few years of their lives at sea, returning to breed about five years later. “

OK, I’ll stop looking, I’m depressing myself even more

A little research and I think I have the answer…….

“Although the puffins are vocal at their breeding colonies, they are silent at sea. “

Maybe we’ll hear more when they get to land?

Meanwhile I’ll go and check the pile of scavenged flared bike bits that is quietly rusting away

GrizeDaleF – We were there last week, its a damn fine climb. The worst feeling part is the last part after the 270deg bend.

Traffic wise – it was ok, The Buses are generally patient and only a problem on the way down, bare in mind there are some tight corners for the buses.

We rode it about 2pm or so, and it wasn’t that busy. But its approaching the start of peak season.

If the early morning hangover option doesn’t work, ride it later in the day after the Coaches have shipped all the peeps back to their hotels.

If riding from Pollenca I’d recommend going via Campanet – much nicer climb towards LLuc from the Selva side, even if it does add some distance.

Surfdad, the canal side rides are ok, but will be busier on weekends and whilst its a pretty canal, it is only a canal…

I think you’d be best of road riding. Loads of quiet roads out towards Lacock, or further south and you can easily plot a good route around there. I’d stay away from the main A roads and its pretty hard to go wrong.

I saw this video a while back, it seems to sum it up nicely.

I wonder how to track down a suitable bike?

I’ve got to add my voice to the congratulations for Bike Verbier, I’m also a repeat offender and they have consistently run awesome holidays. The riding, the guiding and the vibe they create is fantastic.

Phil is even a dab hand at bird spotting too!

SsStu – Thats a lovely video and is making me dream of visiting them again.

Yes, its a very pretty road. It’s also nice and lumpy without a lot of flat along bits that i can remember. It’s the main route down that bit of the coast as I don’t think there are many “motorised” options otherwise, but if you prefer a quieter longer route i think something is do-able using the valley roads heading inland, but it will double the mileage!

    Enjoy.

Ajf – Did you get a CD with all of the images on it? This is very useful for second consultant opinions and its best if you keep a copy of all of the records/correspondence, for any future appointments etc.
    Good luck.

I’ve had a G1 for a couple of months now, the Android side of it is really good. I’ve previously used Nikia and WinMob devices and I can say that this is a major step forward.
I guess the big question is what do you want from a phone? For me the decision to go for the G1 was the google integration, the fact that its an open platform and that I did want a real keyboard. I suppose i ought to admit that there was an element of “newness” about it too 😀

The G1 handset is really only let down by the battery life, it seems to have improved since the December patch, but its still sub peachy.

    Hope that helps.
